Team Rocket Blunders

So yeah guess who's back at it again!

So anyway as I await the arrival of Scarlet and Violet to come to my Switch I decided to pick up where I left off with the Akame story as many have requested this and I've put this off long enough, mostly due to not knowing where to go with Team Rocket. I honestly thought about "killing" them off right here and now but then that would more than likely take so many ideas away down the road and I actually have plans for the Meowth and Akame's ability to communicate with Pokemon (all the while trying to keep it hidden as per usual). Then there is the matter of Misty and Brock joining her on the travels. Truth be told I did not like Misty in the anime as she came off rather annoying and way too screechy. While I relate to her on the matter of bugs (I detest spiders the most, I'm sorry) and the matter of peppers (I hate those and onions with a bitter Kyo-Sohma style passion; I even nearly ordered a gas mask for times when I know someone is cooking them but was talked out of it as I need money for "adulting"), there is a limit I can take with the bullshit. I mean sure Ash is kind of a dunce in my opinion, but she is not exactly innocent of her fair share of bullshit. Then there is Brock and his pervy tendencies. Ignoring how he hits on every Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny, let's not forget the creepier moments like when they meet Giselle. I mean, isn't the dude like over seventeen, maybe eighteen, years old and she is like what, ten, maybe eleven years old? *Shudder*

So yeah, all of that aside, these two are basically gonna be dialed down in terms of personality, at least until the first of Akame's love interests make it to the scene somewhere down the road. And one of them is already on his way, but he won't be there until the Charmander episode is near. Let's just say Damian doesn't have a prayer when Akame is done with him....

So anyway, enough pussyfooting around, onto the next chappie!

3rd Person POV Akame

Akame

"Uggghhh...." When Akame came to the first thing she realized was that she was not in her bedroom in her cozy "nest" of blankets and futon mattresses.

"Hello again, hatchling." A voice purred in amusement next to her. Blinking, her eyes landed on a familiar cream colored feline Pokemon who had barely waited a second after her treatment was done to barge in the room that Akame was placed in when she blacked out.

Sitting up, Akame took a moment to remember what happened before she blacked out. When she did however, she felt sick.

"Oh Arceus.... I took a life.... a Pokemon's life..." Her body began to tremble as the horror sank in. Sure, in her previous life she had slain many, both man and Danger Beast. Yet, in this life, taking a life here made her feel like a monster... a bigger one than the ones who killed her kin...

Sensing her discomfort, Persian rubbed her head against hers, her rough tongue licking the girl's face and hair. Akame unconsciously leaned into it, seeking comfort from the Classy Cat's actions, as it reminded her of when her kin comforted her when she got hurt while playing with her siblings and the younger hatchlings. Realizing what she was doing she quickly jerked back, catching the cat off guard until she saw she saw her pouty face.

"I'm not a hatchling." Akame clicked at her in her natural tongue, making the Persian smirk at her in amusement.

"Could have fooled me." Akame huffed, looking mildly annoyed as this was a constant problem whenever she interacted with the fully grown Pokemon. They always made it a point to baby the dark haired girl, and her siblings if they are in the vicinity. And they always encourage it, much to the Pokemon girl's chagrin.

Speaking of her siblings, before Akame could ask where they were, Nurse Joy walked in with Chansey who was pushing a cart that held her Pokemon, including Houndour, sitting on top. The second they saw Akame, her siblings in all but blood leapt off the cart to glomp their "errant sister." Houndour merely sat at the foot of the bed, trying to be cool about it. That is, until Persian rolled her eyes and nudged the Dark/Fire type over to join the group hug. After shooting the cat a dirty look he sighed and decided to the Reverse World with it and just go along with it.

Nurse Joy smiled at all of this. At first she thought the girl was a reckless trainer who was being irresponsible but after seeing how devoted her Pokemon seemed and the way they actually growled at her when she got near, and add in Officer Jenny's testimony, she decided that this girl was no such case. Judging from her scrapes she probably had a bout of trouble with the local Spearow. The League really needs to look into that issue, especially with that Fearow in mind...

Watching the Pokemon cuddle and carry on, she decided to leave them for a moment to give them some privacy. Nurse Joy left a room key on the end table next to Akame's temporary bed before leaving, so as soon as she could, she can acquire a room for the night as it was getting late.

As soon as the door shut, her siblings and official starter began talking.

"Oh thank Arceus and everything that is holy..." Zorua muttered, snuggling into Akame's arms. "I thought she never leave..."

"You and me both, sis." Riolu added from next to her, crossing his arms.

"You guys didn't try to bite her, right?" Akame asked as they had a habit of biting people they are not familiar with whenever they get too close, especially if Akame is in the same area.

"Not this time," Froakie reassured her. "The Chansey looked fairly intimidating and we weren't going to take any chances..."

"Good call," Akame commented. Despite their innocent appearance, Chansey are not Pokemon you want to piss off. That goes for any Healer Pokemon, including Audino, Comfey, and Wigglytuff. Especially when it can come back and bite you in the ass when you are in a battlefield. And Healers know how to hold a grudge.

Sighing, Akame then began to sit up so she could leave the room.

"C'mon," she said to the others. "I'm starving and the sooner we talk to Mama and that Professor guy the sooner we can leave."

"Don't be too sure," Ralts said. "It is already almost sunset and everybody is going on about how unsafe the place is after dark."

"In other words," Persian began in a firm no-nonsense tone. "No running off into the night."

Akame huffed at the Classy Cat Pokemon. "I'm not a hatchling; I don't need my paw to be held..."

The Persian smirked at her. "Keep telling yourself that, kit."

Akame repressed a sigh of frustration. The terms "hatchling", "kit", "cub", "pup", among many other terms meaning baby/infant Pokemon are all demeaning to her, even if the term is used as an endearment...

Without saying a word, she began to leave the room, the others following her.

She spotted a girl with orange hair pulled up in a side ponytail carrying a charred bike ("How did that happen?" Akame wondered as she could smell the burnt metal from where she was) but she passed by her as she went to the video phone.

Gulping silently, she picked up the phone, dialing the house number she knew by heart at this point thanks to Mama and Nana. To be honest, talking on the phone made Akame nervous. They never had these back in the Capital and she was kinda glad for it to be honest. She preferred messenger birds over this. Depsite the convenience talking on the phone felt very intimidating to her. She hopes since it is Mama she is going to talk to, then it won't be so bad as she is anticipating.

After the first three rings, Delia thankfully picked up. Akame didn't realize how hard she was gripping the phone until she saw her face on the screen.

"Hi, Mama," She spoke almost shyly, almost scared to speak too loudly should someone else decide to listen in on her. Her experiences with people, even ones her own age have not been the best.

Thanks a lot, Gary.

"Oh Akame, dear!" Delia looked so happy to see her. Relieved even. "Are you doing okay?" She then saw the drawn look on her daughter's face. "Is something wrong?"

Before her "mother hen" instincts turned into "mama bear" alert, Akame spoke quickly, though it seemed rushed.

"Had a rough moment coming up on Route 1..." She gulped, remembering how she killed the Fearow that threatened Persian's life. She still ached over it even though many could say the Fearow may have had that coming...

Delia looked concern. "Are you okay? Do you need me to...?" She trailed off.

Akame shook her head, though a part of her was sorely tempted to take her offer of letting her come and pick her up right then and there. Her previous life she practically had no mother to look to, so Delia was a godsend, especially after her kin was killed by those humans.

"No, Mama. I'm fine." She gestured to Persian, who took that moment to put her head on Akame's lap, bringing her into Delia's view, making the woman blink in shock.

Akame continued as if nothing was wrong. "I made a new friend," she gestured to the Classy Cat Pokemon. "This is Persian... I helped her...." She decided not to tell Delia about the now dead Fearow that had been terrorizing Route 1 for who knows how long. While it was not her first kill, she was a bit scared what Delia would think if she caught wind of her killing Pokemon.

She held back a gag; even thinking about it made her a bit ill.

Delia nodded, thankfully distracted by Akame's "catch." "How nice!" She smiled at Persian. "Do take care of my daughter, Persian!"

Akame groaned, knowing full well that Persian is going to take that more than seriously as the feline already sees her as an errant hatchling and Delia's words might as well have sealed her fate. "Mama!!"

Persian smirked up at her as Delia laughed goodnaturedly.

"Be sure to call me as much as you want, okay, Akame?" Delia said, knowing how much Akame dislikes being on the phone. Hopefully that will change once she gets the hang of the Rotom Phone Prof. Oak had given her before leaving Pallet Town, as he told her he gave Akame a few "additional" things as she had been a great help around his lab despite being so closed off towards him.

Akame nodded; while she was glad to see her Mama's face, she still disliked talking on the phone. Good thing her phone already had a few pictures of her and Nana as a means of comfort should she get homesick while on the road. And there was also this thing that kids her age were into.. "texting" she believed it to be called...

"Love you, Mama," she spoke in a slight rush; a telltale sign she was getting nervous as she was suddenly hyperaware that the orange-haired girl is looking at her. While she didn't sense any malice or the like from her, she was still wary as many kids were good at hiding their true colors until they opened their mouth.

"Love you, too, Akame," Delia responded, "And don't forget to call Prof. Oak before you leave okay?"

Akame cursed to herself at that. She nearly forgotten about that. And she honestly did not look forward to talking to him, what with her personal feelings about Gary....

"Okay, Mama." She managed a slight watery smile at her, which Delia eyed with concern, as she while she was aware of Gary's arrogant behaviour she didn't know how deep it ran with Akame. Though she did note that her Pokemon didn't seem to like him and had always made themselves scarce when he was in the area (though they were always near in case he antagonized Akame).

With that the screen went black.

Akame sighed to herself. Who would have guessed human interaction could be so taxing?

"Well better to get it over with now than later," she muttered to the others in her lap in her natural tongue, forgetting that the orangette was still there. Though all she heard was a tongue click and a long chirp.

Sighing to herself, she dialed Prof. Oak's number, deciding there was no good in delaying the inevitable.

She deadpanned seeing the back of Prof. Oak's head than the front.

"This guy...." Akame deadpanned before clearing her throat to get his attention. "Behind you, Professor."

When he realized that he was indeed facing the wrong way, he finally turned around, having the decency to look sheepish.

"Terribly sorry, Akame my dear girl," he laughed nervously. Her expression didn't change in the slightest, making him sweatdrop, as per usual.

"Ahem..." He cleared his throat awkwardly, already more than aware of Akame's less-than-social tendencies. "I take it you have made it to Viridian City already."

"Yes," she answered shortly. "And honestly, at first light I'm out of here. This place had done nothing but give me bad vibes from the start..." She thought a bit crossly, still haven't forgotten that very rude Officer Jenny.

"Ah, right," Prof. Oak didn't really know what to make of her short responses and aloof attitude. "If you don't mind me asking, did you happen to catch any Pokemon on the way over?" Akame noted the almost nervous look on his face, meaning he went and done something stupid.

She gave him an arch look. "What did you do?"

He winced. Busted.

"I ummm," he saw no point in lying to her, "I might have made a dumb bet with my grandson Gary," he did not notice the slightly sour look on Akame's face when he mentioned that brat, "and wager a million dollars that you would catch a Pokemon before you made it to Viridian City."

She refrained from facepalming. While the currency in this world may look different, it wasn't in terms of amount and value from her time the Empire...

"You really need to stop that..." She gave him a dead-eyed look, showing her apparent disapproval. She really hates it when Gary turns his attention to her. "But if it makes you feel any better, tell him to pay up. I caught a Persian." At the mention of her name, the said cat showed her face onscreen, making the Prof. gape in shock before busting out in relieved laughter.

"Oh, Akame my girl-"

"I"m not your girl."

"You always know how to surprise me!" As usual every time she says this he always either ignored it or didn't pick up on it.

She sighed internally. This call cannot wrap up fast enough. And no way is she going to show the Rainbow feather to him anytime soon... or mention Ho-oh, and chances are he won't believe her about meeting the majestic Fire/Flying-type, even if it is her they were talking about.

"Oh my pizza is here!" Thank Arceus above for that... "Talk to you later, Akame!"

With that the call cut short, revealing yet another black screen.

She leaned back in her chair, blowing out an air of both exasperation and relief. At least that's over...

"Are you okay?"

She stands corrected.

She slowly turned to the person talking to her, seeing it was the orangette herself. She regarded her warily, unsure if she can trust her, as most of the girls in Pallet Town all viewed her as weird for her "tomboy" tendencies. Even as she gained popularity outside of Pallet Town thanks to her swordsmanship and martial arts, those accomplishments only ostracized her more. Especially if you factor in Gary and his blatant jealousy.

The girl seemed slightly concerned going by just her expression alone, but Akame had never trusted anyone, human-wise, at face-value so to speak.

She shrugged. "I'm fine." She said shortly, hoping that would be the end of it.

The girl only frowned some more, but before she could press on, the hairs along Akame's neck rose.

Persian let out a low dangerous growl as a window from above broke because of some throwing a smoke bomb into the building.

Akame threw herself forward, her hand on the hilt of her Murasame. Her Pokemon came out and stood before her, ready to guard her as the smoke died down a bit to reveal three, counting a Meowth standing on his back paws like a bipedal, figures. One woman with long pink hair and a male with short chin length blue/purple hair.

Akame's voice was innocent as she spok out into the dark mist, "Who are you?" Nurse Joy and Misty, the orangette, looked at Akame like she was nuts.

These three, at least the two humans, clearly did not take note of this. Nor of the protective Persian walking up beside the girl, a glare on her face as she glowered at the sight of the two humans and her pre-evolved form.

"We're Team Rocket, you brat," Jessie, the pink haired one, snarled at her, as Akame basically interrupted their "motto." "And we're here for the rare and valuable Pokemon here in this Pokemon Center!"

"But isn't every Pokemon rare and valuable in their own way?"

This question stumped both Jessie and and the blue-haired male, who is James. The Meowth with them just stared at her with a slightly open mouth.

Akame continued as if nothing was wrong. "And why steal Pokemon?"

"Because," Jessie cleared her throat as she began to feel a lump of some sort form in her throat at Akame's words. "Because that's what we do, twerp!"

At this, Persian let out a snarl, not appreciating Jessie's name-calling, calling both her and James's attention to her and Akame's other Pokemon standing alongside her.

"Those Pokemon will make an excellent additions to Team Rocket! Especially the frog, the foxes, the dogs, and that weird one with the bowl-cut!" This made her siblings glare at the bluenette with great dislike if not hate. "And the boss just loves Persians!" That made the Team Rocket Meowth wince and send James a dirty look.

"Whatever," Akame nearly jumped from shock to hear the Meowth speak in a human language. "Let's just bag this twerp's Pokemon already!"

Akame felt her hackles rise when he brought up stealing her siblings and new friends. "I won't let you!" She snapped, forgetting about how the hell a Meowth is speaking like a human as her hand going to the hilt of her sword.

Jessie and James smirked, before calling out their Ekans and Koffing.

"Ekans, go!"

"Koffing! Attack!"

Akame, in the heat of the moment, called out to the opposing Pokemon without thinking. "Ekans! Koff-Koffing!"

This made the two Poison-types pause; could this human...?

They couldn't deliberate on whatever they were thinking as Jessie and James barked at them to continue. Akame threw her hands to her mouth; her blood going cold. Mama and Nana had told her to keep her "abilities" to herself lest bad people start to use her for bad things, like using her against other Pokemon for their own personal gain against her will.

Persian snarled before springing forward in front of Akame and letting a Water Pulse loose at them.

"Get away from my kit!" Persian hissed as the water orb hit both Ekans and Koffing along with Meowth.

Taking advantage of the distraction, Nurse Joy called out to both Akame and Misty (the former had nearly forgotten the orangette was still there) to go to the storage room where the other Trainer's Pokemon were stored.

Persian was right on her "hatchling's" heels as she took priority in her eyes given that she saved her from certain death and a hatchling is always to be protected.

When they entered, the lights cut out, submerging everyone into total darkness.

Houndour snarled, "They cut the power!"

Froakie chuffed at him. "I could have told you that!"

"Enough!" Ralts snapped at them before an argument could break out.

Akame had no idea what to do. The easy solution would be whip out Murasame and give the two humans a quick (and painful) end, but she couldn't do that.

Because she promised Mama she would not take a life needlessly unless there was no other way. And she's very sure that the Officer Jenny nor Nurse Joy would not be very understanding if she went and killed them on the spot....

But she can't stand by and let these Pokemon be taken by force, especially not her own friends and siblings.

Before her mind began to spiral into complete panic, Nurse Joy spoke up.

"Not to worry! We have Pika-power!!!" With those words the room was alight with the electricity given off by many Pikachu who were running on hamster wheels. Akame allowed a small smile at the sight of the happy Pikachu, their auras bright and healthy, just like their "spark."

But the moment was ruined when the doors to the room were thrown open, making her whirl around to see Jessie and James along with their Ekans and Koffing. Meowth was standing between them, giving Akame a narrowed-eyed look, one full of suspicion. Akame held back from gulping nervously as she had the feeling that the Scratch Cat Pokemon had noticed her speaking to Koffing and Ekans in her natural tongue and saw the way they hesitated when she yelled out to them.

Froakie jumped forward, glaring at the lot of them fearlessly as he growled at them.

"Stay away from us, dishonorable curs!" He grounded out.

Meowth glared back at him. "Yeah you and what army, froggy?"

Froakie smirked at this, throwing the cat off. "This one..." At his word, Zorua jumped up and landed in front of Meowth and the others.

"What the-?!" Zorua then flipped and instantly they were all surrounded by what looked to them an army of ghosts.

"EEEEEKKKK!!!!!" Jessie screamed in fright as James instantly clung onto her in fear.

Taking advantage of their distraction, Akame looked to Persian.

"I don't usually do this, but got anything to help us out?"

Persian smirked. "I happen to know Thunderbolt and I bet you ten to one a lot of those Pikachu either has Motor Drive or Lightning Rod, which can be a big help if we give them a nudge!"

Akame's eyes widened; of course! If Persian uses Thunderbolt and if what she guesses is right, then that means if the Pikachu absorb the Thunderbolt and let loose with their own, then that can solve everyone's problems! Sure there may be property damage but in Akame's eyes that is a small price to pay if it means to save her brethren.

"Let's do it!"

With a nod from Akame, Persian proceeded to let out a thunderbolt which went directly to the Pikachu, confusing everyone as they directed their attention from the illusion Zorua casted.

Zorua ran back to the other side as she and the others already heard what they were planning and wanted to get out of the crossfire.

Akame took a deep breath before she yelled out in human speech, "PIKACHUS, THUNDERBOLT AND THUNDERSHOCK!!!"

The second she said it, all of the Pikachu did as she said, releasing their strongest Electric attacks, now amplified thanks to absorbing Persian's Thunderbolt, and they all hit Team Rocket and their Pokemon.

And as Akame predicted, there was property damage; the impact of the combined Electric attacks was so powerful that they sent Team Rocket through the ceiling, making a big hole as a result.

"LOOKS LIKE TEAM ROCKET IS BLASTING OFF!!!!"

As soon as they vanished from sight, Officer Jenny finally showed up.

Akame held back a scoff as the earlier encounter was still fresh in her mind and left a rather bitter taste in her mouth.

Thankfully, the Captain was here to make sure there isn't any repeat incidents like before.

After words were exchanged, Akame was finally permitted to leave to get some rest, much to the ravenette's relief as she could feel the curious gaze of the orangette who had helped out during the incident and she was really in no shape mentally nor emotionally to answer questions after all of that.

She gave thanks to Arceus and whoever else may be watching over her and her kin that she didn't pursue her as she went up to her assigned room, a courtesy from Nurse Joy as she helped save the Pokemon in the center.

The second her head hit the pillow she and her brothers and sisters were out like a light, along with Persian, who kept a silent watch over the lot of them.

AAAAANNNDDD SCENE!!!

Finally got this scene out and out of the way!

I'll be honest, I hit a major road block with this update, what with the future plot and whether or not to kill (or maim Team Rocket) like she did with the Fearow as this is Akame and look where she came from before being reborn in this world. But I don't want to make things too dark, but at the same time I didn't want to be inconsistent. Tell me your thoughts dear readers of this book!

Anyway, here's an early update before Thanksgiving and it's good to be back in the swing of things!

Ja ne!
