Untitled Part 4
"Zombies..." Irina Shidou shivered as she looked at the corpses of the Draugr and skeleton inside the tomb as Issei backhanded another with enough force to launch them on the all before using a spell to kill it.
"These are Draugrs Irina," Issei explained, looking at his childhood friend before crushing the head of one under his heel. "Zombies are different than Draugrs and there's a lot of them in Cyrodiil,"
"Wait, these aren't zombies?!" Asia shouted as she used a sunfire spell to defeat a Draugr next to her.
"Nope, these are ancient Nords and servants of powerful mages and individuals known as Dragon priests," Issei said before a magical circle appeared on the ground with him at the center. "This should secure this place from any undead resurrection for a few days,"
"Not bad," Xenovia praised lowering her sword, Excalibur destruction while looking at her hand.
Irina smiled as she wrapped her sword, Excalibur Mimic, into her hand as a bracelet. While Asia sat on a nearby rock.
"We'll rest here and proceed to the hall of stories," Issei told them as he conjured some pen and paper while studying some murals. "By Dibella's tits..."
"What is it, Ise?" Irina looked at her childhood friend, focusing on what he was looking at. It has been a long time since they last met and now, she dragged Xenovia on an adventure to follow him and while it made her a bit guilty, she wanted to spend more time with him. 'Does he like big boobs?' Irina thought to herself as she noticed how she heard her childhood friend exclaim those... false god's name and chest.
"These ruins... they were constructed sometime before the Alessian empire and between that period of the first era and the Merethic era," Issei said as he looked at the beautiful murals. Confused but curious, the twin-tailed ginger approached her childhood friend and into some murals. "See those murals? Those animals are the deities the Ancient Nords and Atmorans used to worship."
Listening to her childhood friend rambling on and on about these pagan gods, Irina closed her eyes and hummed in respect. While she joined the Dawnguard with Xenovia, it was for survival, and Isran, thankfully, did not care if they worshipped those pagan deities, only that they helped kill vampires.
"Xenovia, is your hand alright?" Asia asked, in contrast to Issei, she focused on the potions she held and prepared her mortal and pestle to create some potions or salve to help heal their injuries.
"It's fine, Asia," she said as she looked at the former holy maiden. While her initial impression of her was biased by her devotion to the church, their adventure through the barrows made her pity how she was banished by the church.
"Still," Looking at the back of the only male of their group and Irina, "to think he could keep up with Irina and I," she remembered how he swiftly dismantled the group of bandits with a combination of his spells. He summoned a bow to disable the archers and mage before he drew his sword and in the blink of an eye, he was all alone, flicking the blood off his blade.
"Issei is strong," Asia looked at her first friend and how he excitedly took some notes while discussing some things with Irina. "It was by the lord's grace that he managed to travel with me from Helgen,"
"Maybe, if we get back to Earth, you can return to the church," Xenovia said.
"I would love that," Asia said with a thankful smile. She did not mind if she was assigned to a mall rural province. She wanted to return to the church, it was her only home. A memory of Issei handing her some books appeared in her mind.
"My lord," A golden eagle flew from the shadows, landing on Issei's shoulder.
"Staada?" Issei looked at the golden eagle, the form of heraldry the golden saints of the Shivering Isles possessed.
"Greetings, Lord Issei," The eagle said, bowing respectfully at the human. "It has been a long time,"
"Is she your pet, Ise?" Irina said, reaching for the eagle, only for Staada the eagle to glare at her, freezing her midway.
"I am no mere pet, worm! I am Staada, proud commander and golden saint of Lord Sheogorath and sworn shield and familiar of the Duke of Mania of the Shivering Isles, watch your tongue!" The moment the young Knight's hand reached her beak, the eagle's personality did a 180 and leaned on the finger. "I've been looking for you. Got something to deliver. Your hands only."
"Sheogorath?" Noticing the three faces of madness on the seal of the scroll, Issei opened it. "Haskill wants me to bring Sheogorath home?"
"Sheogorath? The Daedric prince, Sheogorath?" Irina asked, looking at Issei. Concern filled her being as she looked at her childhood friend. Luckily, Xenovia was not near them. As much as she appreciated her partner and friend, she was quite stubborn.
"Yes, the same one. I needed his artifac, the staff called Wabbjack, for a ritual and I championed him," Issei explained. "Or her... it's complicated," Issei explained as he took the scroll and opened it, only for it to disintegrate. "Why is she on Solitude?"
The eagle just shrugged before flapping its wings, "I shall be back in the Shivering Isles, my lord. Feel free to call upon me," the eagle said as it flew away and into the shadows.
"She? Ise, do you have a girlfriend?" Irina asked, looking at her childhood friend.
"Huh? Not really, I was busy trying to survive when I got here," Missing the look and sigh Irina did, the young pervert remembered his misadventures. From his failed spell creations to his training on how to be a thief from his mentor... "Why'd you ask?"
"No reason!" She replied with a bright grin. "Okay, it's enough rest! Come on!" Irina said with a smile as she looked at Issei, showing the taller male the Golden Claw they recovered from Arvel the Swift.
"Asia!"
"Xenovia!"
At the same time, the childhood friends called their companions before looking at each other. Soft, playful laughter echoed from their mouths before turning to the giant gate with a puzzle.
Opening the lock by using the pattern behind the key, the group of four looked at each other. Drawing their weapons, the group approached the giant wall filled with carvings.
"The Dragon Language, created by Dragons from the Merethic Era, a form of magic used and mastered by the Ancient Nords warrior-mages called tongues," Recalling the stored knowledge he gathered during his tenure as the Archmage of the Mages guild and Arcane University, his eyes looked at the carvings filled with power.
"I found it!" Xenovia Quarta said, showing the Dragonstone they were looking for.
"Asia, are you okay?" Irina Shidou looked at the former Holy Maiden approaching the wall as if she was in a trance.
Magic, the power woven by mages and those capable of using them through the use of magicka, swirled in its purest form to the young Holy Maiden, noticed only by the young Archmage. While it was impressive, something else caught his attention.
During his tenure as a member of the Mages Guild, he clashed with Necromancers of varying skills, from novices to masters. By instinct, he can sense any sort of Necromancy, after all, you need magicka to use spells... right?
FUS RO DAH!
Raising his hand in the direction of the Magical disturbance, a magical circle containing his sigil, a red diamond with a grey wolf head over it, formed in front of him. It barely stopped the shout and debris, making him skid back several feet from where he stood.
'Fuck! That almost broke my ward and that's a weakened shout!'
"Qiilaan us dilon!" The Draugr shouted as Xenovia moved, Excalibur destruction ready to cleave through the Draugr. Zun Haal Viik! The fragment of the strongest Holy sword flew from her hand and into the ground,
Irina turned her sword into a long rope, pulling her partner to safety. Asia chanted a sun spell and aimed it at the undead, only for it to deflect the sun spell with its enchanted blade. The chest that once held the Dragonstone rose from the ground and launched itself on the Draugr while Issei looked at the Draugr.
"You okay, Xenovia?"
"Yes... he disarmed me,"
"I'm so lucky the undead in Cyrodiil can't shout," The young man said to himself before forming another ward while using both of his hands to stop a roar of blizzard winds from the Draugr's hand.
Grabbing her sword, Xenovia hopped out of the ward.
"Wait! Get back!"
Unable to pull her back or use a spell in time, Issei gritted his teeth before casting a Telekinesis spell and layering the ward with a turn undead spell while Xenovia slammed her sword on the ground. The power of destruction the blade possessed broke the ground, launching numerous pieces of the ground on the Draugr.
Asia, seeing her companion hold the fort, focused on her magicka pool. Remembering what Issei taught her, she looked for the spell now carved into her mind. Repeating the chant, the young Holy Maiden blinked as she felt something.
'Don't fear. I shall guide you, little one,' A soothing voice echoed in her mind as a spear of holy light appeared in her hand.
"That's!" A smirk appeared on his face as Issei launched his magical circle war into the Draugr, damaging it heavily while ignoring Xenovia. "Do it, Asia!"
Irina used her Excalibur Mimic in the form of some chains to hold it in place along with its mouth, stopping it from shouting. However, countless centuries to millennia of magic and life force being offered to the leaders of the barrows strengthened the Draugr, allowing it to move and take the constant flow of damage from the ward trying to crush it while the chains' residual holy energy burnt its body.
Rearing her hand back, the holy maiden felt power flow to her tiny body. Aiming at the Draugr, the former Holy Maiden's spear of light launched itself from her hand and into the Draugr's chest, disabling it while Xenovia brought her Excalibur destruction, splitting the undead into.
"We did it!" Irina cheered, jumping in joy. Asia collapsed on her knees, panting lightly while Xenovia sighed, wincing as she looked at her right hand.
Issei approached the body, holding a crystal before taking the greatsword the Draugr once used. "Not bad," Taking a few swings to check the weight, the young knight nodded and chucked the greatsword and crystal into a portal.
Looking at the corpse, the young man gently knelt before holding the different pieces and casted a spell. A spell commonly used by priests of Arkay to sanctify the dead, preventing them from being resurrected through the means of necromancy done by regular necromancers. Even now, he can sense the ancient magic used by the ancient Nords to protect this tomb, it was sad and a painful thing... for these souls to go through.
"Sovngarde Saraan, brave warrior," Issei prayed, remembering all he knew about the Nords. It won't make a difference but it was all he can offer. Turning to his companions, the Archmage of the arcane University approached them, ruffling Asia's head with a smile. 'She has an Aedric spear... is she...' For now, Issei will hold himself back. After all, he could have easily butchered that undead, and compared to the dreaded King of Worms he once fought along with his order, it was a piece of cake.
Approaching them, the Archmage of the Mages Guild blinked as he found himself barely catching onto a bundle of... a young woman with long white hair and golden-amber eyes, appearing to be around the age of twenty-two to twenty-three, near his current age. He could feel Magicka flow in her, dwarfing his natural Magicka pool and by the look of it, she was quite skilled in Magic.
'Why is it that all people I know from Earth that got here have a bullshit power but I have to enter the Deadlands before I got magicka?!' Looking at her forehead, he could feel the emblem embedded on her forehead. Feeling something familiar, Issei activated the ghost of the tenth eye spell, a spell that allows the unseen to be seen. Symbols were prominent on them, they were chosen by the nine, The bird of Kynareth on the young woman in his arms, the flower of Dibella on Irina, the horn of Stendarr on Zenovia, and the intertwining loops of Arkay for Asia. 'The symbols of the nine, and four are here...'
