Chapter 5
White clouds danced around the expanse of the Blue sky of the Mundus as Aetherial light bathed the Mundus.
"Chug! Chug! Chug!"
Numerous boisterous cheers echoed inside an inn as a young man with brown hair held a tankard to his lips, chugging the alcoholic beverage inside without care as numerous bards played their songs. Several more people around the table drank from their tankards.
Slam!
With a grin on his face, the brown-haired young man slammed his tankard on the table.
"ANOTHER!"
Cheers erupted from the crowds around them.
"How uncouth," The white-haired woman of the group whispered as she looked at the young man on the table while holding her own tankard.
"Yeah! Beat 'em Ise!" The twin-tailed orange-haired young lady dressed in a light version of the Dawnguard armor cheered with a smile of her own as she watched the group.
"Do it, Hyoudou!" Xenovia cheered the young man on with a smile.
Chuckling nervously, the last member of the group, a young woman with golden hair and green eyes looked at the white-haired woman.
"Issei is pretty reliable miss Animusphere," Asia Argento said with a smile, going to give her friend a more preferable light in the eye of the newest member of their group.
"But still, to create a mystic code like this," She whispered, looking at the set of mage robes she now wore. A set of apprentice mage robes with custom enchantments by Issei Hyoudou. A fortify Magicka Regeneration and Shield on the torso, fortify Magicka and frost shield, and a pair of boots with resist fire and frost enchantments. They were all altered to fit her size by the same person who enchanted them using that witch's enchanting table near the town.
"To think that he can use magecraft to enchant items," Looking at the book in front of her, she thought about her Magic Circuits, ever since she arrived in this world, her circuits improved in quality and her magecraft became stronger than before. The magic in the air was more powerful than the one back on Earth. It was more similar to the magic during the age of the gods.
"Yeah!"
Thunderous cheers shook the inn as the Nords on the same table as Issei passed out on the table with the young man having a slight reddening on his cheeks.
"My head..." Issei whimpered as he approached their table, a hand on his aching head.
"Well, better luck next time," Irina said with a smile as she looked at the young man while Issei sat on the empty chair.
"Shut up..." The young pervert grumbled before a soft golden glow covered his body.
"Are you insane?!" The newest addition to their group roared, looking at Issei with wide eyes. "You're not supposed to use Magecraft in public!"
"Relax, relax," Issei said with a smile. "Unlike Earth, Magic in Tamriel is a common knowledge."
"Huh?"
"You have to thank Vanus Galerion and Mannimarco by proxy for the spread of magic," Issei admitted with a smile.
"Are you saying that someone shared the secrets of Magic to EVERYONE?!"
"Well, he did not share it with everyone exactly, but he made it available to the public with the establishment of the Mages guild during the 230th year of the Second Era," Issei said with a smile. "Sadly they disbanded around two hundred years ago after the events of the Oblivion Crisis. Alchemy in Tamriel is a form of magic widely accepted by everyone from the common serf to the highest of Nobility,"
"Didn't you say you were a part of the Mages guild, Issei?" Asia asked, remembering his questions during their escape to Helgen.
"If that's true, then Ise will be over 200 years old!"
"Technically, I am over 200 years old but I'm just 19," Issei said with a smile as he looked at his childhood friend. "Funny thing, in the Infinite expanse of Oblivion, you can experience time but you're not subject to it, only on the whims of the Prince owning those lands,"
"I see, then that proves my hypothesis," Olga said. It was true, she was in a reality where the age of the Gods never ended. The sudden increase in the quality and volume of Magic circuits, her easier use of magecraft... "You're too nonchalant about this, who are you, Issei Hyouou?"
"Hmm, I'm just a washed-up Imperial Battlemage candidate," Issei said with a smile, playing with his words and their meanings. "Although, I did become a member of the Mages Guild for a while."
"Hm, I can't believe that you are a mage,"
"Believe what you want, besides, I am a battlemage. A mage specializing in battles," Issei clarified teasingly. "Anyways, if you guys don't mind. I have to take a shit outside,"
"Disgusting,"
"Gross,"
Olga Marie and Irina said at the same time while the perverted teen just grinned at them.
Escaping the boisterous atmosphere of the Inn, Issei took a deep breath as he gazed upon the reflection of the twin moons, Masser and Secunda, on the river's surface. Casting a water walking spell, the Knight of the Nine formed a katana of water, frozen via a small application of frost magic.
As graceful as a bird in flight, the Knight of the Nine moved. like a flowing river, the young man danced, the loose parts of his sleeves dancing along his movements. A tempered breathing strengthened his body as he danced on top of the river, illuminated by the light of the twin moons.
How long has it been since he relaxed like this? All the time since he arrived in Tamriel, a battle to the death lurked in every corner from the wilds, to the caves, dungeons, etc. It had its upsides, allowing him to master the use of Blades faster than one trained during peace.
Ancient manuscripts from Akaviri preserved by the Akaviri Dragonguard— now known as The Blades— were his main form of instruction. Keeping his breathing up all the time increased his physical capabilities even more.
"So you do have some skill in swordsmanship,"
"I'm better with weapons than I am with magic," Issei clarified, appearing beside the young woman in a burst of speed.
Xenovia Quarta, an exorcist of the church and wielder of the Holy sword, Excalibur Destruction, looked at the spot where he was just in, only noticing a slight ripple on the river's surface. "Dead," Issei's voice filled her ears as a blade of ice pressed on her side.
Sweat fell from her face as she analyzed what just happened. In a burst of speed, Issei Hyoudou cleared the distance between her and before she could act, a blade pressed itself on her side.
"Why didn't you clear out the barrows before us?"
"Honestly, I had no reason to," The young man admitted, holding his hand out. The frozen katana turned to water swirling on top of his palm.
"Irina did not notice but aren't you an exorcist as well, but for these pagans?" Before she could finish her sentence, the entire bridge they were on trembled as the perverted young man's eyes coldly looked at her.
"Nice eye, you're pretty intelligent for someone who prefers brute strength in your fighting style," Issei teased with a smile. "Want some?" Looking at the bottle and a pair of cups in his hand, the young woman's eyebrow rose.
"Weren't you just drinking enough alcohol to put you in a coma?"
"Pfft! I'm not a Nord but I can hold my alcohol,"
Taking one of the cups, Xenovia inhaled the sweet scent of wine poured into the cup. Taking a small sip, the exorcist's eyes widened at the burn and flavor. Finishing her cup in one go, she licked her lips at the taste. She can feel her body adapt better to the chilling winds.
"Julianos Firebelly, a wine produced by a good friend and employee of mine," Downing the contents of his cup, the young man smiled as he listened to the winds of Kynareth blowing upon the Mundus. "Helps loosen up,"
"I know," Xenovia whispered with a smile, stretching a bit. An action that emphasized her chest for the young man. Noticing his stare, "my eyes are up here,"
"Yup!" The pervert replied with a smile before turning around.
"I have a letter for you," a man around his mid-20s dressed in common clothes called out, holding a note in his hand. "For your eyes only, gotta go," With that, the courier swiftly turned around and went on his way.
"This seal..." Peeking over his shoulder, Irina noticed the slight change in the air around the young man. "Xenovia, tell the others I'll meet them back in Whiterun," Without giving her any room to say anything, a portal opened in front of them, revealing an expression she thought she would never see on his face. "Tell them, I'm going for a walk,"
Xenovia could not speak, his eyes filled with kindness and compassion looked cold and terrifying. She knew if she tried to stop him or if she fought him in this state. Images of her body being broken and destroyed flashed over and over in her mind's eye. What was in that letter that he read? All she saw was the words Mythic Dawn.
"T-take care, Issei Hyoudou," She barely whispered as the young man's form disappeared into the portal.
