Trustworthy

"Do you really think you can escape me? Because I know my friends and enemies. And I know for one thing, that you people are spying and that's unfair." she said all of a sudden.
"Well unless you are a big fan." Darky added as an afterthought.
Travis was now rigid and his hands were cold and clamy.
"Um..... I was waiting behind the door to ask you guys a question." he said while slowly standing straight.
Daunt suddenly made us all jump.
"Leah, one day you will see." she said whispering. Apparently, she had not heard the ruckus we had caused a few minutes ago and Leah/Darky's attention directed to Daunt.
"Leah, there will be no you anymore." Daunt murmured and her freckles seemed to pop out more vividly. "I will make you....a ghost... that no one will remember... and that will be a fair deal."
Leah made no sign of moving because she blanched with fear at those words, her dark pupils widening an inch. She took a step back and almost fell backwards. Slowly she was wobbled for a milisecond and stood rigidly. Leah then stared at us with her lips pursed, probably trying to think of something to make us shoo away. Her gaze lingered on Travis for a long moment.
"...I...Why are you people here?" she asked a bit louder.
"We have come to meet your friend Daunt." I said as my stomach lurched from unexpected hunger.
"Its not the right time." she spoke slowly, pronouncing every word. I also noted that her accent was gone and she sounded normal.
"What is not the right time? Its always a good time. Bring the person here, Leah." Daunt chirped behind the door.
"You better say nothing about this conversation we heard." Leah grumbled. Leah walked in her black waist length hair flowing quickly. For some reason, her hair and eyes both looked like Travis.
The door opened and I was actually a bit surprised. The money and wallets all disappeared and Travis squeezed my hand.
Leah was still sitting lazily, but observed us. She was a brilliant girl with her red curls and sparkling eyes. But I reminded myself people are never the same as they look. And that was the biggest flaw of Daunt's face. She was neither trustworthy or ashamed. That was the problem. I realized this when Leah was keeping a close distance to me than Daunt.
Daunt just smiled meekly. "Well, y'all seem to be mighty quiet. What's brought the cute married here?" she asked with the fakest accent. Travis politely smiled as he let go of my hand and hugged from behind my back.
"I want to talk to my sister." he spoke with not the slightest hint of unseriousness. I almost gasped in real shock but his grip tightened.
"What sister are you talking about?" Leah interrupted with her dark eyes flashing angrily.
"You have a sister?" Daunt asked with an innocent face. I couldn't tell if she was being serious or already knew.
"Yeah I do. And for some reason, you look like her." Travis brandwished his finger to point at the girl. And the girl was Leah.
Leah did not flinch, scream, or run. She just stood there calmly.
"When you think about, the young man looks identical to you, Leah." Daunt said with a ghost of a smile.
But Leah looked like she was going to deny. She opened her mouth and then thought.
What could she be thinking about? It was easy, yes or a no. Then my stomach rumbled and I felt awkward.
"Sorry Travis, in this generation I am. But in your generation I merely am a ghost." Leah said with a solemn look in her eyes.
