*With Mario*

The rain was pouring down and everything was soaked except the food as it all had been kept in containers luckily. Also Mario drenched from the rain as he sat through the storm just waiting as he believed that at some point they would arrive.

He just needed to wait.

And wait he did.

*with the others*

After a while the storm passed and everyone had been informed about the map and the plan. Everyone with that stetted off following the map.

After a while, they eventually arrived at the destination to find a drenched passed-out Mario waiting for them drenched as if he was waiting for everyone in the rain with a picnic basket next to him.

Smg4 and Meggy went over to Mario to check on him. It turns out that Mario had just fallen asleep waiting for them. With that Mario wakes up and is startled to see Smg4 and Meggy standing over him with worried looks on their faces so Mario quickly stood up and quickly started started to speak.

"sorry about making you all worried and annoying you all..." he said genuinely looking down at the ground.

"I - uh made everyone's favourite meal... Sorry if it's cold..." Mario added on.

With that Mario showed them the food labelled with each of his friends' names on it.

"Mario... You didn't have to do this..." Meggy spoke up going over to Mario and putting a hand on Mario's socked shoulder. Feeling how wet and cold Mario was from the rain while also feeling Mario tense up from that one touch.

"Red... Are you ok?" Meggy asked worry filled her voice.

Mario just looked at Meggy unable to say anything, as that was a while since he was asked that with that and it felt unreal as everyone usually assumed he was alright. At that point Mario just broke down hugging Meggy.

"no I'm not" Mario said quietly under the tears.

With that Meggy pulled Mario into a hug not caring how wet her best friend was, "Red it's ok, I got you"

Mario didn't care that the others were watching him cry. All that Mario cared about was that he was holding his best friend, who was comforting him just as he had done for her multiple times before.

After a while, Mario stopped crying realising how drenched he was. With that, he shook all the water off like a dog removing all the water off his body. With that Mario let's put a sigh

"So... Uhm, what do you guys prefer to have me be like, smart or what you are used to?" the red plumber asks.

Everyone looks over to Mario with a confused look.

"what do you mean red?" Meggy asked

"I mean do you want me to continue being my chaotic self or do you want me to act more smart" Mario explains

"I prefer you to be your chaotic self as it gets more view-" smg4 says before being hit in the back of the head by Meggy.

"SMG4!" Meggy says sternly.

"I mean you can be yourself" smg4 corrects himself.

"Yeah, Red, be yourself and do what you want. You are our friend, so you should be yourself," Meggy said with a gentle smile.

Everyone else there nodded agreeing with what Meggy said.

Mario looked at all his friends, his eyes tearing up with gratitude.

"thank you guys!"

With that, Mario pulls everyone into a hug and has a picnic with everyone.
