Myrtle (part 2)
Kiana immediately gathered all her strength and pulled herself out of his arm. Enrico let out a chuckle as he buried his hand back into his pocket then looked up to her.
"What is wrong with you? Do you have any idea what you just did? You gave her the wrong idea and now... I'm sure she's pissed off." Kiana let out all at once, before running and smoothing her already bundled up hair with her hand.
She let out a sigh as she looked away from him. Enrico kept his eyes on her, following every little gesture from her, whilst a little smile formed on his face. He couldn't help it. Every little detail about her made him smile. He would be lying if he said he wasn't enjoying it.
"Why did you do this? Why did you lie to her?" Kiana asked as she shifted her eyes back to him, her voice a little calmer than earlier.
Enrico stared at her for a while with amusement drawn across his face, before suddenly taking steps towards her and only stopped when he was directly in front of her.
"Lie?" He asked, his voice a little low and Kiana did nothing but stare at him.
"That lie could become the truth if you so wish it." He stated, staring directly into her eyes. Once again, his words took her by surprise, so she stared at him. A moment later, no words came through on her part and a simple smile drew on his face.
He drew his face closer to hers, so that they were almost an inch apart. Kiana's eyes widened in surprise.
"What do you say, Kiana?" He asked referring to his last sentence, but all she did was stare. Her eyes felt glued to the pair of his icy blue eyes. The fluttering of his lashes was ever so beautiful and attractive. Her heart was racing really fast and all the talk of them being an actual couple was making her imagine things; things an actual couple would do.
Enrico let out a brief chuckle.
"Seeing you blushing, I would say you pick the truth." He commented, an amusing look expressed across his face.
His comment slowly jogged her out of her hypnotised state. Her brows furrowed with contempt.
"You're always joking." She stated in frustration, as she places both hands on his chest and pushes him away from her. Without wasting a second more, Kiana walked past Enrico and headed straight for her room, refusing to spare him one last glance. Enrico, on the other hand, stood with a wide smile on his face, as he watched her rush off to her room. He was loving the effect he had on her. It was fun, but, at the same time, overwhelming. He felt like his heart was going to explode by how fast it was going. Every inch close to Kiana made him a total different person. She had no idea just how badly he wanted to hold her tight in his arms and never let go. It was a strange urge and the only way for him to get past that would be to joke about it, that way, she couldn't tell when he was being serious.

Kiana rested her back on the door right after she walked in and shut the door behind her. She placed a hand on her chest, then let out a loud breath. A breath she had no idea she held back. Her heart was racing so fast. Everything was giddy with her. She placed both hands on her cheeks. It felt so hot and probably red as a tomato.
"Why do I have to blush all the time in front of him?" She asked herself in a whisper. The question did not need a definite reply.
She shut her eyes for a moment as she let out another sigh trying her best to calm her nerves. Enrico's jokes were becoming unbearable. One moment he's teasing her, then another moment, it's a joke. It was as if the words 'MAKE FUN OF ME' was written boldly on her forehead. She walked away from the door and gently had her seat on the bed, resting both elbows on her knees, she buried her face within her palms. An image of Giulia surfaced in her mind and she raised her head up. All this was temporary. When Enrico would find out the truth, he was definitely going to hate her. She wouldn't even be able to get the least bit of smile from him. It would all be over. Sometimes, she inhabits the idea of actually telling him the truth herself, but each moment she saw his face, she realised she just couldn't.
Sitting up straight, she realised she needed some fresh air. Something to get her mind off the past and to get away from Enrico for a while, she got a hint of the perfect excuse.

He sat still on the sofa with his legs up on the centre table and his head leaned backwards. His eyes stared at nothing in particular. The sound of a door being shut could be heard and his eyes immediately shifted to the direction the sound emitted from. He watched upside down, as Kiana walked away from her room with a bag tossed over her shoulder. She had also changed into a white baggy shirt and a pair of navy blue Jean trousers. Her hair was packed up as usual.
"Where are you going?" Enrico asked, causing her to come to a stop almost in a startle, a hand placed on her chest. She hadn't noticed him there. She thought he might have returned to his room.
Kiana took a deep breath before turning to him. The first she noticed was his head. His eyes obviously staring at her upside down.
"I'm going to get groceries. The stock in the fridge is almost up." She explained, as she walked up to him and only stopped when she was in front of him. His eyes had followed her all the way.
Kiana stretched out a hand to him. He stared at it for a moment before withdrawing his hand out of the pocket of his sweatshirt and placing it on hers. She furrowed her brows at him before quickly withdrawing her hand away.
"What are you doing? I'm asking for money. Money to buy groceries." Kiana explained, a little irritated and Enrico put up a smile as he withdrew his as well.
"Well, you should have said so. Any man in my position would get the wrong idea." Enrico added, his eyes still on her.
Kiana looked away from him for a moment before returning back on him. She let out a sigh.
"Just give me the money." She demanded, quite frustrated.
"As you can see, I'm not with my wallet. It's up in my room... I'll get it." Enrico explained before getting his legs off the centre table and getting up on his feet. A few steps away from her, a clear image of his dream resurfaced in his mind. It reinstated the fear he once felt the moment he woke up. Immediately, he turned back to her. A wide smile drew on his face.
"I'll go with you." He quoted and her brows slightly ceases up.
"What?"
"I'll accompany you to get groceries."
"No. No, you really don't have to do that. I'll be fine on my own. You should stay home and get enough rest." Kiana urged all at once, but all that did was cause Enrico to narrow his eyes at her and tilt his head a little to the side.
"If I didn't know better Kiana, I would say you're trying to avoid me."
"A-Avoid you? Why would I do that..." Her words trailed away as he turned and hastened his pace towards his room.
"Damn it." She cursed under her breath right after he was out of sight.

Giulia made her way right into Sophia's office, barely shutting the door afterwards. Sophia looked up to her, away from the work at hand. She noticed how her sister-in-law slumped her handbag on the sofa, then began pacing to and fro. The look of unsettlement painted across her face.
"Giulia, what's the matter? You don't look so good." Sophia asked, as she looked back down at the task at hand.
"She's back." Giulia stated, quite agitated, unable to come to a standstill.
"Who's back?" Sophia asked, a sign of worry nowhere evident on her face. Giulia came to a standstill for a moment before approaching Sophia's desk.
"Kiana... Enrico's childhood crush. She's back." She commented, her easiest explanation. Sophia stopped what she was doing before raising her eyes up to her sister-in-law.
"Ki-Kiana? That's her name?" She asked, her brows a little ceased up, as confusion drew on her face.
"Yes. I never mentioned her name to you because I thought I'll never have to pronounce it ever again, but now, it seems I was wrong." Giulia added, the look of detest on her face.
Sophia slightly shifted her eyes away from her sister-in-law, as she thought over and over again where she might have heard that exact name in the past, but, for some reason, she just couldn't recall that exact knowledge at the moment.
"I thought you got rid of this Kiana for good." Sophia spoke up, although confusion still twirled within her.
"Yes, I did, but right now... right now, she's his girlfriend and they live under the same roof."
"What?"
"Yes. I just came from Enrico's place. I met her there. I saw her myself. I can't believe this!" Giulia exclaimed, quite frustrated. Silence fell in the room, as both women plunged into deep thoughts.
"Well... does he know the truth?" Sophia asked and Giulia shook her head, as she gently had her seat on the chair in front of Sophia's desk.
"I don't think so, seeing as he didn't drag me out of his penthouse. I don't think she told him a thing."
"That's good."
"Good!?" Giulia exclaimed, a little confused at Sophia's conclusion.
"Yes. It only means she's as scared as we are of letting him find out the truth. Something can still be done about her presence."
"I really hope so. Right now, my son and I aren't on great speaking terms. I won't be able to take it if he hates me and completely cuts me out of his life. He's my only child, Sophia. I know I did something terrible in the past, but it had all only ever amounted to him becoming a better version of himself." Giulia explained before running a hand through her hair.
Sophia let out a sigh.
"You don't have to worry about a thing Giulia. If she's here, we'll deal with the situation. Nothing bad is going to happen."
"Truly, I hope so. I drew them apart in the past. If I have to do that again in the nearest future just to keep Enrico on the right track... I won't hesitate to do that." She stated, staring directly at her sister-in-law, who did nothing else but stare back.
