CLAIRE HOLDEN was an imaginative child.

She saw the good in everything, in everyone. She believed in miracles (one being that her father would come home), and she believed in things beyond, like spirits — she liked to think that there was a world beyond theirs, that they weren't alone.

All of that hope disintegrated when Alicia Holden died.

It was a night of horrors, one that traumatised the young girl to the point where the light inside of her dimmed down to a tiny little flame. Claire Holden wasn't the same little girl anymore.

She didn't believe in the beyond anymore, not after she had called for her mother and received no answers back.

Bouncing between different foster parents and foster homes, she became a shell of a teenage girl, a girl with no parents, no friends, and no one that cared about her. She learnt soon enough that the only person looking out for her was herself, and when she finally came to that realisation, she found peace.

Claire was merely trying to get through her teenage years when a man whom she didn't believe even existed, walked into her life without any warning— her life changed as she knew it, no matter how much she hated it.

Dean Winchester may not have believed it for himself, but he had saved his daughters life, and she had saved his.
