Todo-chan's Birthday
{So I know Todo's bday is January 11th but I saw this picture and couldn't help myself xD}
Todoroki sighed as he dodged people and crossed the street. Today he was finally turning 16: big fun, amerite?
No one outside of his family actually knows it was his birthday, speaking of which he was currently on his way to visit his mom. The hospital luckily wasn't too far from the school so it didn't take that long to get there, just crossing a street and then passing along two blocks, another street and there it was. He walked through the sliding glass doors and gave a nod towards the receptionist and started up to his Mom's room. At this point he visits so much that most of the staff knows him by name.
He knocked once before cracking open the door and peeking in. His mom held a cupcake in her hands with a soft smile at his entry.
"Happy birthday, Shoto!" She grinned. Todoroki smiled in return and walked in, shutting the door behind him.
"Thanks Mom." He set down his bag and sat down, taking the cup cake from her.
"You really should visit home again, I'm sure Fuyumi and Nastu miss you." She suggested. Todoroki gave a considerate look, "You could even invite Deku-kun over, just say it's for your birthday. Then you could make a move once you get to your room and-" She gave a suggestive eyebrow wiggle.
"Mom!" Todoroki's cheeks flushed. "Why would you even say that!" She gave a hearty laugh and gave him a grin.
"I know you've thought about it at least once." Rei poked at him.
"No! I haven't!"
"You sure~?" She did another eyebrow wiggle. "I want grand babies!"
"T-That wouldn't even work-"
"No buts!" She insisted with a snicker. "But really, visit home. Say hi to your siblings for me."
"I will." Todoroki soon jumped into how school's been going.
When he got back to the dorms he finally decided on what he wanted to do. He would bring Izuku home, but not to do any of-
That...
First Todoroki decided to give Fuyumi a call, many to see if the old man was around. It was a Saturday so he should be out on a patrol but he wasn't exactly sure. He fished out his phone and scrolled to his sister's contact.
It rung twice before, "Shoto! You've finally called! Happy birthday lil bro!"
"Hey Natsu, is Fuyumi there with you?"
"Yeah, I got to her phone first..." There was a snicker on the other line as muffled complaining could be heard from the back ground.
"Well, I was thinking of coming over with a friend for my birthday. I just wanted to make sure the old man wasn't home."
"You're already bringing someone home Shoto? Wow, here I though my little brother was innocent."
Todoroki's face flushed, why is his family so suggestive? He decided to keep his voice monotone, not letting his brother to get to him, "Yeah, yeah. So the old man?"
"Oh, yeah the flaming trash isn't home, won't be home till later tonight."
"Good. Then expect us over at..." He glanced at the clock which read 3:16, "-let' say 3:30 or 4:00."
"Okay, Fuyumi is already heading out to buy a cake so-" The speaker turned muffled and loud voices were on the other end before a thump and a new voice came onto the line.
"Hey Shoto!" It was Fuyumi. "I'm heading to get you a cake, what do you want?"
"I don't really need a cake.." Todoroki snickered lightly.
"Too bad! I'll just get you a red velvet- last time I checked you liked red velvet."
"Okay, sounds good. Bye Fuyumi."
"Bye Shoto!"
Todoroki hung up and slipped his phone into his pocket, heading two doors over and knocking it. After a moment a sleepy Izuku came to answer it.
"Todo-chan!" He squeaked with a smile when he realized who it was. Todoroki couldn't help the fond smile that grew across his face.
"Well- uh," This was harder than he thought. Probably because all the dirty comments from his family. "So- today's my birthday and-" he didn't even get to finish before Izuku jumped up and hugged him.
"Birthday? You didn't tell me!" He sounded like an angry bunny behind Todoroki's ear.
"Uh, sorry?" Izuku let go and faced him again, he had a slightly guilty look.
"I didn't get you anything" He murmured, avoiding his gaze with his bottom lip wavering ever so slightly.
"It's fine! I was going to ask if you wanted to come over to my house- uh, my siblings are throwing a party apparently." Damn, Todoroki couldn't help but flush at all the things running through his mind. Even if Natsu was being sarcastic, his little brother really wasn't innocent. Though, Izuku didn't seem to see the invite as dirty as he quickly grinned and nodded happily.
"Wait 'ere!" Izuku exclaimed before bouncing on his heel and shutting the door. No later than five minutes he came back out in an Todoroki's old hoodie and a pair of shorts with a grin.
Todoroki smiled, ignoring the blush creeping up his face.
"Great, let me get my shoes then we can go."
They got out of the cab and paid, thanking the driver as they walked up the driveway to Todoroki's house. It was just turning 3:46 at the time so Fuyumi should be back by now. Izuku clung to his arm as they walked up to the front door, he went to knock but before his knuckles could even hit the door it opened, Natsu grinning down on them.
"LIL BROOOOOOO!" Todoroki groaned and pushed past his brother in embarrassment who still awaiting a hug. Izuku kinda just hid behind Todoroki to the best of his ability.
"Hey Fuyumi." Todoroki said as they entered the kitchen, a smug looking Natsu walking up behind them. Fuyumi was decorating the cake when they walked in.
"Oh! Shoto, you're already here..." She smiled. Izuku peeked out hesitantly with a shy smile. "Who's this?"
"Oh, this is-"
"Deku!" Izuku cut him off.
Fuyumi giggled, "Hello Deku-kun."
"Wow~ you two seem closer than I thought." Natsu smirked, doing the same eyebrow wiggle their mom did. Izuku seemed oblivious to it and settled for looking around the house in wonder, though Todoroki's face flushed in response, the two siblings made a smug eye contact.
"It's not like that!" He hissed, dropping his face into his hands as he sat down in defeat.
"You sure?" Fuyumi snickered. Todoroki gave her an exasperated look. She barked a laugh as she turned back to the cake. "This is fun, normally you never let us tease you."
Natsu nodded, "I can't believe I have a gay little brother!" He squealed, whipping away an invisible tear. Shoto groaned again before Izuku hopped back to his side, he tugged on his sleeve childishly.
"What're we going to do Todo-chan?" He asked with a grin. Fuyumi basically threw down the icing in response, turning to him sharply.
"Oh my god! Todo-chan! Don't even try to lie to me again, Shoto Todoroki!" She exclaimed, hiding her grin and pretended to be exasperated. Izuku glanced at her then to Todoroki with a questioning look.
"Nothing." Todoroki grumbled as he dragged him away from his cackling siblings with a beet red face.
"Did you see the hoodie Deku was wearing?" Natsu stifled his laughing. Fuyumi nodded, clearly delighted being able to easily fluster her brother which was actually a change. Normally he's too stoic and emo and doesn't like showing emotions. But in reality the two were thankful for the change, he looked happier just by a quick glance.
"You okay?" Izuku poked Todoroki's cheek as he was buried to deep in regretting his life decisions with his siblings. They both sat on his futon but Todoroki had been too silent for Izuku's taste.
"I'm fine, sorry." He smiled softly at Izuku which beamed in response.
"What'd you wanna do?" He exclaimed, bouncing around Todoroki's room.
"Anything you want." Todoroki laughed lightly, his enthusiasm quickly turned into a pout.
"No! It's your birthday!" He insisted, jumping onto his futon next to where he was sitting. "You choose!"
"I'm boring though, I don't know what to do." Todoroki joked with a grin as he started to tickle Izuku who quickly broke out in a giggle fit, trying to swat his hands away. He only stopped when Izuku started wheezing out he couldn't breathe, it took another few seconds for him to stabilize his breathing. When he finally did he crossed his eyes and playfully glared at Todoroki.
"Meanie."
"Aww~ I'm sorry!" After a second of glaring Izuku's 'anger' cracked and he let out another giggle.
"Snacks?" Izuku looked at Todoroki hopefully; he grinned and stood up.
"Let's go see what we have."
Izuku's attention was quickly snagged by some Melon Pan. He quickly pointed it out to Todoroki, which got it down for him as it was on a taller shelf. The little cinnamon roll quickly found joy in the sweet bun and nommed on it with a grin, Todoroki was happy enough to see him content.
"So what are you boys going to do for the rest of the day?" Fuyumi asked, "I mean the cakes done, so if you want we can cut it now." Before Todoroki could say anything Izuku perked up.
"Cake?"
The three siblings laughed as he quickly turned sheepish.
"Well, I'll take that as a yes for cake," Fuyumi snickered lightly, "Let me get the candles." She poked sixteen candles in the cake, all in a swirl leading to the center and turned to Natsu.
"Do you know where we put the lighter?"
Natsu paused, seemingly trying to remember before Todoroki chuckled and stood up, using his left hand to wave over a flame to light them all in one go. His siblings gaped at him.
"Y-You used your fire..." Izuku grinned at Todoroki as he glanced back at him.
"Is it really that surprising?" Todoroki laughed. "Are we singing? I rather skip the embarrassment if possible-"
"HaPpy BirTHdaY ToOOooOOo YOouUU~~"
{Fun fact: I used to cry my eyes out when I was little when I was being sung happy birthday because I hated the attention. My family tortures me by playing a video they recorded every year for my bday. Don't ask why I put this in here-}
"Birthday boy gets first slice." Natsu joked as he grabbed a place, plopping a massacred slice of cake onto it.
"You are a terrible cake cutter."
"I don't LikE knIvEs OkAy?" Natsu whined, cutting into the cake again and picking up the slice, steadily bringing it towards the plate before the knife wavered and it faceplanted into the table. He sighed in defeat, handing the knife over to Fuyumi.
"That piece is yours." She laughed before getting two more perfect slices for Izuku and herself.
Izuku poked the red curiously, he had yet to try red velvet cake. Cautiously, he took a fork full and bit down-
He had a new favorite cake flavor.
The four of them soon started to play weird games to celebrate Todoroki's special day including but not limited to hide and seek, Twister... ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°), tag but with whipped cream, sliding across the wood floor in socks to see who could get further, and a movie. Izuku dozed off on Todoroki's shoulder during the movie for a little while before the front door slammed open and closed. He jolted awake, the three sibling shared a worried glance.
Oh crap.
The flaming garbage is home.
Time passed by so quick, not to mention the mess covering- well- everywhere.
Heavy foot steps made there way to the room, Fuyumi paused the TV before they could get into any more trouble.
"What is this?" Endeavor demanded, motioning to the pillow fort the four laid inside and the whipped cream covered walls and floors- heck maybe even the ceilings-
Though, he was mainly motioning to Izuku.
"This is my guest." Todoroki said back, pulling Izuku closer to his side.
"Great." He growled stepping forward and forcefully yanking Izuku from Todoroki and dragging him towards the door, "You can leave now."
"Hey!" Todoroki was up in an instant, freezing his father to the floor and gently taking Izuku back into his arms. Sadly just as quickly as the ice got there it melted away. "You okay, Deku?" Izuku gave a shaky nod and glared up at Endeavor.
"I don't want that weakling in my house." Endeavor growled again, lighting his fist on fire and scowling down at the two boys violently. "Get it out." Izuku glowered towards him with a new cold, sharp look, this dude really was just trash. If he hurt Todo-chan then this man was on his 'no-no list.'
"Weakling?" He scoffed, "The only weakling here is you, you over sized flaming plastic hero wannabe." Todoroki tried to pull him back out of worry when he stepped forward but was shoved aside. Endeavor glared daggers down to the smol green bean
"How dare y-"
"No!" He barked out childishly, "How. Dare. You! You get away with hurting my Todo-chan with anyone else, but with me it's different! I know what abuse feels like and refuse to tolerate abuse! You're no hero Endeawhore, and you wont ever be if you don't figure out how to be at least a decent human being first."
The Todoroki family was silent for a second before Endeavor went to open his mouth again but was quickly cut off by Izuku once again.
"nO don't even stArt- I know it's technically illegal but when ever the mention of you comes up I feel obliged to murder something on sight." Izuku hissed out, "Maybe if you gave a damn about others and not just yourself and you were just as a horrible person but on accident I wouldn't feel stabby! A true hero shouldn't inspire others to commit homicide! You're not warm just burning- not like Todo-chan." He puffed out his cheeks as they flushed from his anger and ended his rant, well for now.
Soon the two decided to go back to the dorms, clearly being unwanted by Endeavor. Though, Natsu and Fuyumi were still gaping over the fact he even had the gut to say anything to their father even after he left.
