(Personal Holiday to Author) Special

Izuku has never really been fond of loud noises or big crowds, so when his first Fourth of July rolled around after he finally was free from his kidnappers, the day was more or less terrifying to him.

Class 1-A decided to attend the festival all together for Fourth of July, everyone was thrilled to get ready with buying kimonos and setting up plans such as food to try and things to do during the festival. It started at 6:00 pm, bright lights and lantern were starting to pop out, the parades started getting ready and sweet shop owners started to prepare for the crowds.

Hizashi was more than willing to bring Izuku and Shinso to buy kimonos, Shinso got a navy blue one with a dragon pattern on it. Izuku ended up choosing a slightly girly one, it was covered in pastel red and purple cherry tree flowers and wrapped in a beautiful cream colored waist belt that neatly tied into a bow. It came with platformed shoes, with the same pattern and colors for a sandal strap. He looked wonderful in it, so no matter how much the kimono made him easily mistaken for a girl Hizashi jumped at the chance to buy it.

Izuku spent most of the day after the kimonos were bought with making kitty macrons, trying out different flavors like mango, peach, blueberry, and pistachio. He carefully used some of the filler icing to decorate the front with small kawaii ears and faces, adding a swirling tail and small jelly bean paws popping up from the bottom. They came out quite splendidly, so after that he spent about two hours carefully wrapping about 25 macrons each in a the same pink pastel bagging covered with cat faces until he had twenty three bags in all. Carefully, he tied a pink ribbon around the top, just a slightly darker shade of pink than the bag itself into a delicate little bow. It was around 9:00 pm when Izuku checked the time, he yawned quietly and set the bags in the bottom drawer of the fridge so they could chill till it was time to go to the festival and cleaned up.

Of course, two were for Dad and Papa, and one for himself, Izuku knew they'd want some.

He went to bed just after that, curling into his mattress comfort and started to quickly doze off, unaware that he still had some baking batter and flour on his face and arms.

"Izuku, wake up buddy!" Papa shook him awake excitedly. Izuku yawned at the intrusion and tried to curl further into a ball stubbornly. "Izuku, you got to get ready for the festival, you mongrel."

"Hmm, no!" he mumbled in response. Hizashi frowned, then smirked slightly at the remembrance of Aizawa's complains about how close he was to a certain half in half in his class.

"So, you're gunna arrive to the festival covered in flour and dirt to... Todoroki?" Izuku tried not to jolt up too fast to get ready but ultimately failed. Papa chuckled at the cinnabon's priorities, calling to him that he slept in late and it was twelve. The class wanted to walk around starting at five even though it started at 6:30, get dinner at four, and drive out at 3:00 to first hang out at a park for awhile and for anyone arriving late to still technically be on time for dinner.

Izuku took a thirty minute shower to get all the flour off his face and out of his hair, washing his body with softening soap. The kimono took quite a while to put on for him as it had multiple layers and also couldn't get wet; so Izuku had to take twenty minutes to blow dry his hair, making it all poofy. He combed in down slightly to try and help, but it didn't really effect the volume of his curls. He soon had an hour and a half to get ready. Papa was nice enough to lay out the kimono for easier access, all parts of it were gently spread out on the bed.

{Fist off I have no idea what Kimonos are like putting on so I'm just doing it off imagination}

Izuku first started off by putting on the thin, frilly under part of the kimono, it was almost like a long sleeved white dress but not; serving a under cloth purpose. Next he grabbed the light cream over dress, it only had one shoulder strap and was made of thicker material, it also had the cherry tree patterns slowly crawling up the side of it. Next he had to tighten the back with a drawstring, making it fit his body smoothly, though normally someone else would do that for you, so doing it by yourself was more complicated, the single sleeve was very long, you couldn't even see his hand. The sleeve faded from the cream to petaled red and purple, the inside being just plain black. The wait belt covered basically from the higher middle of his hip to just barely below the mid section of his chest, a pretty and frilly pastel purple and red that was tightened similarly with the main part of the kimono, but after you tightened it you would take the frilly ribbon covering parts of it and tie it into a bow.

Izuku decided that a certain face paint would look cool with it, choosing to powder his face white slightly just to make his skin slightly more pale and then powdered his cheeks just slightly pink with a clear lip gloss. It wasn't anything more than that, simple but very pretty.

"Zuku, are you ready-" Dad came into Izuku's room, stopping short when seeing his breath taking son. He smiled, walking over, "Wow, you really dressed up, huh?" Izuku looked away bashfully in reply.

Aizawa took something out of his pocket, a hair clip. It was a dragon fly clip. Aizawa slid it into Izuku's hair, bringing up the curls covering his right eye, "You need a hair cut you problem child." There was no mockery, only a proud father. Izuku smiled softly, bowing slightly to mock royalty before snickering. Aizawa also chuckled, then checked his watch.

"Unless you want to be late for your dinner, we best head off now." Izuku peered at the clock, his eyes widening as the clock read 4:02. "Papa and your brother already left."

It still took ten minutes to drive there.

Izuku sighed, knowing no matter what he'd still be late- but at least fashionably late. He made sure to swing by and grab the macrons before he left, getting his wallet and anything else he wanted, which wasn't anything in particular just a small backpack for things he didn't want to carry.

Izuku waved his father good bye and walked into the sushi diner they chose to eat at, getting more nervous by the minute. ughUHuGUh

Right when he saw the group Uraraka started squealing like a maniac and flagged the poor, flustered Izuku down. All eye's in the class were on him, he smiled softly and sat down next to her on request, trying not to pay attention to the fact a very handsome haflie was sitting in front of him. When he saw most of the girl's outfits a- oh dear... a-and Aoyama's, he felt better, at least he wasn't over dressed or underdressed but he still felt his heart skipping beats restlessly. Perhaps it was from the multiple compliments all at once or from a certain someone's staring.

"You look nice." Todoroki spoke low, almost embarrassed he even spoke up in the first place. Izuku hoped the white blush would tone down his own, he was sure he would look like a tomato if it wasn't there. He nodded in thanks, scanning Todoroki's kimono. It was a very traditional male kimono, but instead colored like his hair, one side a cream, much like Izuku's, and the other a deeper red.

Izuku wanted to return the compliment but couldn't- physically incapable of opening his own mouth. Luckily Iida interrupted his efforts, "We already ordered, we weren't sure what you wanted though. I hope you don't mind we got you katsudon." Izuku smiled gratefully, seemingly pleasing Iida as he smiled back.

"Oh! We also got you a boba milk tea, I heard they were really good, but if you don't like it I also got you a water." Uraraka piped up, grinning. Izuku actually really like boba milk tea, so was also happy about that. Uraraka noticed and beamed brighter.

Soon they realized the food wasn't going to come out for awhile and started fooling around. Izuku remembered his macrons and grinned, nudging Todoroki's leg under the table to show him the 21 bags while no one else payed attention. Todoroki also grinned. They started playing a game on how many bags they could start tossing around before people started realizing what they even were. It took to the 16th bag till Tsu finally spotted one, alerting everyone of the delicious treats.

After they ate, which actually took around 30 minutes more than they would have liked, they started off towards shops and wear the actual festival was slowly opening up. Izuku and Todoroki almost were walking shoulder to shoulder, both stealing glances at each other but also both too shy to say anything. Everyone else laughed and joked around in smaller groups, basically oblivious to the two internal gay panic attacks in the midst of the chaos. Even Shinso was too preoccupied with admiring Kaminari that he didn't notice Todoroki walking a little too close to his little brother than what pleases him.

Soon, though, Izuku found a interesting store and dragged Todoroki away from the group to check it out, officially ending their silence. The shop had all sorts of good luck charms and crystal's. Mini Buddha necklaces and statues were scattered everywhere as well as pretty moon rocks and cool scent burn sticks! The shop wonder mentioned they were incense sticks but Izuku wasn't really listening too much. The two pointed at things that they found cool or turned to make fun of a statue and laugh afterwards. After that they hopped to more stores, not really buying anything yet, just surfing the area to scope out the really cool things.

It was about an hour and twenty minutes before the parades started, but time flew by so fast for everyone that it felt like about ten minutes in all. Soon lanterns floated off into in setting sun, signaling the start of the fun.

Izuku held Todoroki's hand as he dragged him everywhere but still huddled to his side to avoid people. They shared a Carmel apple which was actually Izuku's first time having one at all, lets just say he didn't get anything on his kimono somehow and that's all that mattered.

They also got dumplings, sushi samples, chocolate covered rice balls, Takoyaki, and even some mocha truffles. Other foods that they didn't know the names of were samples, though a German candy called a Gummy Bear was now one of Izuku's favorite things. He got three pounds of them and put them in his back pack, sometimes snacking on a few. They also picked up some normal chocolate pocky, snacking on them as they walked.

Soon the parades came out, different types of performers came out and walked along doing tricks, all cool. Some help huge sparklers which scared Izuku slightly. Then the dragon came out, the sides shooting out fireworks and each loud. Izuku did not like the loud bangs so Todoroki suggested they find a quieter place to enjoy the upcoming firework show. Izuku agreed happily, looping his arm with Todoroki's as they walked to a secluded hill side.

"Better?" Todoroki asked with a rarer smile, one that showed how happy he really was.

"Yeah, thank you." Izuku had been talking quite a lot through the festival, but if they ever stumbled across another class mate he'd go silent again.

"This was really fun." Todoroki couldn't help but sigh longingly. Izuku nodded, not trusting himself to speak this time; instead pulled out the pocky and started munching on them.

Soon the fireworks started up, dying the sky several different colors at once. Izuku almost forgot about the half eaten pocky in his mouth, hanging out as his green eyes searched the sky in wonder.

"Hey, Izuku." Izuku was surprised to hear his actual name instead of Deku, but still turned around to face Todoroki. He yelped slightly to see his face inches away from his own, shock overwhelming his body as Todoroki grabbed the pocky out of Izuku's mouth with his own, pressing a soft yet firm kiss on Izuku's lips at he took the rest of the pocky with a cheeky smirk. Izuku's mouth hung open for a few seconds before he finally hid his completely red face with a squeak, Todoroki laughed, apologizing several times in between wheezes.

"Whaa~ Too cute..." Todoroki chuckled softly. Izuku buried his head further into his hands.
After a minute he calmed down, leaning his head onto Todoroki's shoulder with a pout.

"Meanie."

"I said sorry, plus I wouldn't take it back."

"Meanie."

{2195 words, didn't edit and I loved writing this! This is slightly in the future of the story, but not all that much}
