Chapter 9
“Don’t you think we should be the least bit quite?” I mumbled against Gaels lips as he pushed me up against the wall, knocking down the lamp on the side table in the process.
“Don’t worry about my parents” I mentally rolled my arms and squeezed my legs tighter around his waist. “What about Jessica? And your grandma?” Gael let out a low growl and picked me up grabbing my butt.
“Were about to have sex and yet your worrying about your cousin or my grandma walking in on us?” I giggled and shook my head as Gael walked us to his room.
“Just want to make sure no one walks in on us. Lock the door” Gael slammed his room door shut and closed the door; he walked us over to his bed and pushed me down.
“You ready for this?” I took in a breath and lifted his shirt up; I threw it to the ground and smiled. “Yeah”
The light shone brightly through the room making me squeeze my eyes tighter and cuddle up more to the rock hard body that was practically glued to my body. “Morning” Gaels rough voice spoke up.
I shivered as his breath tickled my neck “Morning” I sat up and wrapped my hair up in a messy bun, I yawned rubbing my eyes “Last night was a-m-a-z-i-n-g” Gael leaned in making me immediately push him away.
“Nah uh. I have morning breath and haven’t brushed my teeth, don’t think about it” I pushed Gael away from me and ignored his puppy dog eyes.
“Gael, you up sweetheart? Your grandmothers leaving and breakfast is ready” I jumped up and wrapped the sheets around me as the door opened and Mrs. Kingston walked in.
“Oh lord!” she screeched and I couldn’t help but let out a loud sequel of embarrassment. “Mrs. Kingston” I spoke in shock, my cheeks tingling with heat.
“Estelle. I was just going to your room to wake you up….” I looked at Gael who gave me a small nervous smile “I’m awake now, I’ll see you at the table” I nodded my head at her and walked out of the room my eyes trained on the ground.
I showered quickly and changed. I walked down to the kitchen and sat down nervously biting my lip avoiding eye contact with Mrs. Kingston and Gael. Breakfast went quickly by and small talk was made around the table, I guess you could say I wasn’t up for a conversation after Gaels mother walked in on me practically covered in her son’s sheets with messy bed hair.
Leaving the Kingston’s some family time I left on the search to find some chocolate. I had been craving chocolates for a while and Mrs. Kingston’s dark chocolate wasn’t what I was craving.
I walked into Seven 11 and walked over to the third isle, which was full of chocolate and lollies. Everything looked so tempting, for about half an hour-I think, I stood there deciding what to get. I finally settled down on a bag of sneaker pods and a bag of starburst snakes.
My phone buzzed in my pocket and I pulled it out reading the text Gael sent me.
Gael: Grandma just left, mum and dad left too…no ones home ;)
Just as I was about to reply back I bumped into an object my phone flying down to the ground. I groaned and leaned down the same time the person I bumped into leaned down.
“I’m so sorry, I’ll buy you a new phone if it’s broken” I frowned at the familiar voice and looked up to meet Xavier piercing eyes.
“Xavier…” I stood up grabbing my phone I looked at him in disgust. His clothes were all dirty and his hair was all messed up.
“What’s wrong?” Xavier shook his head and played with a square box in his hands. No it wasn’t…
“Are you smoking?!” I screeched as I snatched the packet out of his hands “Estelle give it back” I shook my head I grabbed onto Xavier’s shoulders “Why are you smoking? You hate smoking!”
Xavier pushed me away from him and let out a breath “I need it” I frowned shaking my head “Why? You hate it” Xavier ran a hand through his hair.
“Smoking distracts me form all the shit happening in my life” I looked at Xavier in confusion “Shit? What shit? What’s happening?”
Xavier let out a loud huff and groaned tears forming in his eyes “I’m adopted Estelle! I’m adopted!” I took a step back at his sudden outburst and bit my lip nervously.
“Is this why you’re smoking? Is this why you look like you live in the trash?” Xavier groaned and punched the wall next to me “Why are you so clam about this” I avoided eye contact and signed.
It was time for the truth to be told.
“Because when I first entered high school and I met you, Claudine gave me a run down on your background.” Xavier frowned and took a step back “You know about this?” I signed and shook away the tears that threated to fall down my face.
“I wanted to tell you but Claudine said it wasn’t my business.” Xavier pointed a finger at me tears falling down his face.
“You knew I was adopted?” I nodded my head closing my eyes tightly “I’m sorry. I tried so many times to bring the subject up but it wasn’t the right-“ Xavier cut me off growling in anger.
“I don’t want to hear it! I don’t want to hear any more lies! You know what the sad thing is Estelle? Is that I never cheated on you to begin with. That girl set me up, I loved you. I told you everything, I was practically whipped and you knew the one secret that has been hidden from me all my life and didn’t tell me? You know what’s the even sadder thing about this Estelle, is that I still love you and the fact that when I found out that I was adopted, I wanted your comfort out of all the people in the world!
But I forgive you. Because I still love you and because I need someone like you in my life, right now!” the tears freely streamed down mine and Xavier’s face. I walked over to him; I pulled him into a hug wrapping my arms tightly around him.
“I’m so sorry” I whispered.
I truly was sorry. I had held Xavier’s biggest secret my entire high school life and even as we dated through the years I hadn’t had the courage to open up the subject about his parents and that was wrong of me.
Xavier was a sweet boy. Heart full of gold and eyes bigger than the globe. He didn’t deserve any of this.
None of this.
