A few days back, I was going through my wattpad library at college. And since my friend Jamalunnisa was practically jobless that hour, she had her head into my phone too. She was looking at the coverpics of the books I had in my library.

Just as I scrolled through a book which had a really cute cartoonic guy with a really cute beard, Jami snatched my phone from me excitedly exclaiming, "Dude I love this guy's beard. He has a beard and he looks cool too. Maybe I should show this to my father to give him an idea."

Now, Jami and I have a common issue. We had conversed regarding it and have come to the conclusion that most Muslim men didn't know how to differentiate between growing a beard and growing a bush. Don't get me wrong, I believe having a beard is sunnah and wonderful but I also have the notion that men here really have to learn how to maintain a beard. So I completely understood why Jami had found the guy cute in a way but what I didn't understand was her trying to find a guy with his beard as a criterion.

Being the sarcastic person that I am, when I heard her comment, I wasn't able to keep mum. I just looked at her with a dead serious expression and said to her. "Dude, I don't think you'd have to show this picture to your father. It would do even if you show it to the barber. He will give this kind of makeover to any guy on the street!"
