Chapter 7
that one dinner spent hours, and most of it is just Brian talking endlessly, which is extremely annoying. I have been waiting for so long to go back to my bedroom.
When I open my door, I saw a nice letter on my table, written by Miguel.
Well, I never knew he writes neat words. (I thought all warriors write "tornado" letters.)
It was a letter from him inviting me to a banquet of the ally pact they talked about, and all the members and staffs of the group have to join. I never thought of this, but yeah, I guess that is a must to join.
I really want to understand more on Heatra as she has seemed like a girl with a sad backstory. By what she said, Miguel's sister took her role, and she was quite sad about that.
As I was falling asleep I heard somebody talking outside my room.
"So how was the plan?"
"All went well."
"Good. You gotta aim for that goal."
I didn't notice much on the voices, then slowly closes my eyes.
I don't know why, but my dreams somehow can tell the future. Some do work, but some not. But they happened frequently. I saw myself surrounded by endless fire and trapped within. I tried to put off the fire with all the water spells I could, but they were too much. I stood inside the fire, unable to do anything, the mind slowly fades out until I was pulled by a great force.
I woke up.
I didn't know what was going on, but I can tell something wrong is going to happen very soon.
I start to shiver a little. Can it be the meeting soon?
Everything today seems so planned and told in my dream.
At noon, I arrived at the flat area without trees in a forest. There's a camp like a roof there and it looks like it's prepared for it.
I see a few people standing there, having conversations quietly.
That one girl with bands saw me and told me to go to their corner.
"Hey, You're Sharon right?" Heatra asked.
I nodded my head and followed her.
"Today's meeting, well, will look a little bit hard for you."
"Ohh, why?"
"We have found some Spies in our group, And they are shamans. I don't know what they will do, but in case if you feel danger, just call any people you are familiar with to leave with you."
So what I predicted was right!
Even though I can predict things with my dream, there's one rule that I must do: do not tell others about it straightly. If I do, it will collapse and give another prediction instead. Then I will have some pain on my head for a few days. To prevent that, I don't say that with others.
"Heatra, is that alright if you can prepare some buckets of water?"
"Can you tell me why?"
"Ehh, I cant. But just prepare them first. Thank you."
"Then come with me, It will take hours to prepare the whole meeting you know. Also, ill explain my stuff to you so you understand what's wrong with the shamans now."
I followed Heatra to a river and it totally spends several times to deliver the water buckets to the backstage of the preparation stage.
"So, eh, first of all, I don't know who my parents are. The moment I still remember was when I was thrown to a random forest until a kind lady who is a shaman saved me."
Heatra stopped for a few seconds, looked around the forest again and then continued.
"You know, its quite wild places here, so you must be careful."
"Alright," I said.
"Luckily the Lord of that time was the best one in my opinion. He was apart of the Nether world's staffs, leading Shamans to real justice. Just when he was about to success, the nether staffs gave him a curse which he will die in 14 days. On the last day, he told me to become the next lord and continue his wishes for him."
"Then somebody took your place?"
"Yeah. we have to join a competition to pursue our placings. I was the first place, but then Satori said that she was reborn of the Lord of nether, then, of course, all other staffs selected her to become the Lord. It was totally unfair, but sadly no one would stand out and claim that as they will be killed."
Jesus. That was the worst rules I've ever heard.
"And some nether rebels just stalked into our pact, and I am not sure which are the correct ones. so we have to make sure to catch them out in this meeting."
"Sure, I will try too."
"and we will introduce you, you are the Next leader of the mages, so don't get too nervous."
"Alright.."
I mean, I am the first leader of mages using water spells. Not everyone accepts that.
It took over two hours to prepare the meeting. The sun falls. I lit the torches with Heatra then a lot of people just came and sat down.
"get on the backstage, I will call you when you need to come out."
I quickly hide into the screens and wait for it to start.
"So, welcome to our fourth meeting of the year. I am here to announce something before we start our banquet."
"Sharon Haruka has joined the pact, so we can have more assistance in the future."
I came out and had a greet on the people. I also took a look at the Audiences.
There are so many mages and paladins, and only a few Warriors. Then I quickly saw Miguel sitting at the back of the group.
When I go down, Heatra continued.
"So as we see we have found another trail of the Nether, so we have to stop the corruption-"
"who said that?"
a lady stood up and shouted.
"Excuse me?"
Heatra looked at her.
That lady raised her chins and said with confidence.
"It is very surprising that you are actually against us. Too bad, you have already lost."
"Lurica, get the fuck out of here right now."
Heatra screamed very loudly.
Lurica laughed as she floats on the air.
"I guess you all will end as ashes very soon."
She raised her arm, everything suddenly was lit into flames.
"Shit, where did the water go?!" Heatra ran to backstage and found the buckets are empty. She ran outside and shouted as loud as she can,
"RUN! I'll get rid of her!"
I thought of nothing but cast my spell to summon rain. It somehow turned some fire off but it won't work. it needs more water. I cast every spell I could try to help people to find an exit, but the problem is when I'm at my cooldown a random fireball shoot at my back.
I fall onto the ground. Fire surrounded me, everywhere. I looked up and I can only see Heatra trying to fight The lady in the air.
I can't count how many shots of lightning did Heatra do. But That black lady is still unharmed. Heatra started to sweat a little bit more, and instead, she guarded herself with Boulders and started to run.
But, nobody noticed me.
That lady saw me and started to fly towards me.
"Yasuna, you had to come back."
"I'm not Yasuna! Leave me alone!"
"If you don't come, you'll die here. Do your family wish you to die at this kind of situation?"
"I.."
I paused a second. Who on earth is Yasuna anyway? I don't know her in the first place!
"I don't even know who Yasuna is, you're just taking me as another person whos similar to me."
"You are here."
"I don't even know what you mean!"
I refused to believe, or know who Yasuna is, but that girl seems to be the nether's side.
Who even is she...? It just sounds familiar, but I don't know anything from her.
"Then we will have to bring you back by force."
That lady stretched her arms, starting charging a huge purple fireball.
I tried to struggle and leave, but i realized i can't. Theres a mysterious energy to keep my strength away.
In this moment, a fireball just went across me and shot though the lady.
"Shit, i never thought such things will happen."
"You never take the right moment."
When i turn around, i see a familiar face. Filled with anger, just like a lion trying to catch a tiny creature.
"I never thought you will stay here." That lady spoke with a cold voice.
The moment they are about to start their fight i noticed theres a tiny gap on the barrier she casted. I quickily broke the spell and escaped.I quickily ran behind the one in familiar with.
"Sharon, you'd better leave."
"No, i cant leave you alone."
I refused that. I cannot let him to fight alone.
"how unfortunate. I thought i could finish him off in a fireball."
"Then lets see how you can fight, Miss Sharon."
The black lady flies even higher and started her attack. The fireballs started to fall all over the sky. I swiftly dodged everything shotted at me and started casting the spell ive just learned. I dont know where this courage came from, but i never know if i can successfully cast it.
During the spell, the barrier takes six seconds to complete. He instantly rushed in front of me to knock off the fireballs shot. That was beyond expectations, but i successfully casted the reflect barrier. It covered over me and him, reflecting every hit object t
back to the black lady.
The black lady was in shock, trying to leave, but then another fireball shot at her, making her fall. But, that fireball wasnt shot by the black lady. I looked down.
Miguel using fireballs? I thought he would forget everything about mages. After that he ran into the black lady, swinging his sharp sword, wanting to stab her.
But then the black lady floats and dodges that swing.
"I never knew you know how to use them.. Lets guess i was defeated."
The black lady gave me a cold glare.
"But you cant deny the fact that the world has been ruined."
Then the black lady vanished in ashes, disappeared.
"Are you okay? I'm sorry, there was too many people leaving that it took a while to locate you." Miguel asked right after that.
"Was i about to die..?" i trembled, shivering, asked the one i only trust.
"It's okay, i wont let you."
I was so scared. The fear of death is never so painful. I just realized i am so weak to defeat a single person alone. Hearing that just calms my heart at least for a little. That reminds me of that teen who saved me during the war. He shines so bright, just light the warm sunlight.
When we was walking out of the forest, I didn't know i was holding Miguel's hand so tightly. I was just so petrified knowing it will happen, just like how the dream has told me.
He noticed me holding so tight, knowing the truce between us, slowly went a little bit closer to me. The sun falls, but i know i am not alone.
Then, we went back to the Mages' city. Behind the gate, I waved to Miguel before i leave. His gave me a warm smile and left. But somehow, theres was a pair of eyes staring me at behind.
"Heyyyyy sharonnn, welcome homeeee~"
Brian greeted me again.. in a weird way. It almost a month already until i have to marry this weird guy, and i mean i never wanted to.
"Yeah.."
"Awww, are you going to the bedroommm? are you sleeping alonee?"
"Of course i am.." I tried to ignore him but i cant.
"Okay then, goodnight my Sharon~"
Yours? The fuck? i never admitted that! Thats what my mother wants, not what i wanted!
I quickily shutted my bedroom door and tries to sleep as soon as i can. I dont want to hear that brat talking. Its just annoying to hear his voice saying stuff in a weird way thinking i like it or somewhat.
Instead, i heard something different.
"What?" Brian just changed his tune into another cold voice.
"I'm sure Sharon has another one she has a crush on."
"Pfft, i know it. Tell me who he is."
"Im not sure about his identity yet, but the thing i know was a warrior in Brown hair."
Wait.. how did someone know this?
Should i tell Miguel about that?
"Didnt you see his eyes? like literally every warrior are with brown hair, fucker? dont you understand?"
"I was behind them.. I apologize. But he seems to be a high staff."
"Dont they know it was never allowed.."
I didnt want to hear more of it, then slowly closed my eyes.
