"Where were you?"

Astoria rings her hands slowly as she watches her husband come through their front door, his head bent and wand thrown carelessly onto the side table. He looks up, surprised she's still awake, and she can feel the exhaustion pulling at her eyes, but the anxiety is far more intense then her tiredness.

"Out," he replies, and she sees his jaw working, chewing quickly.

"With who?"

"Theo. Pansy. Potter." He coughs. "Oh, and Granger."

Astoria tries to swallow the lump that's tightened in her throat, and opens her mouth to reply, but finds that she can't. He walks towards her, giving her a smile and his hands dip into his pockets. The smile fades as he gets closer, taking in her distraught expression.

"Tori, I told you already that you don't have to worry about her." Draco dips his head, pressing a kiss to the corner of her mouth, the smell of mint gum wafting when he pulls away. "You're the only girl I want in my life," he assures, crouching in front of her, and Astoria pulls her legs underneath herself. "Granger and I dated for less than ten months, and it was years ago. Why are you so worried?"

She shrugs, looking into her lap so she doesn't have to face him. She hates it, the uncertainty, the lack of trust she has growing for the man of her dreams. The silence stretches, and she feels his finger touch her chin, tilting it upwards. Her stomach flips when their eyes meet, the way it always did when she stared into his grey pools.

She loves him so much it's nearly reckless.

"Let's go to bed, Tori," he whispers, hand moving to cup her face, the pad of his thumb brushing over her bottom lip and she lets out a gasp.

She knows he's lying. Not on the surface. Then again, maybe he does truly believe he loves her, but not enough to forget the past woman who broke his heart.

Draco fucks her fast, gripping her hips hard as he slams himself into her at an unforgettable pace. Astoria arches her back, spewing sounds of pleasure she knows he requires, and his hand comes up her back and fists into her hair.

"Come for me, love," he seethes, yanking her head back hard, and embarrassment pools in her belly when she feels the tell tale signs of an orgasam approaching. She gasps, clenching the sheets with her fingers tightly, and all she knows is bliss.

When their breathing begins to lax and the high temperature of their bodies cool, Astoria drapes her arm over his waist, pressing herself against his back. Kissing his neck, she inhales his scent, euphoria settling over her like a sheet.

"I love you, Draco," she whispers against his skin, and tries to ignore the discomfort in her chest when his only reply is a light snore.

"There's an office party next week, something about Potter's birthday," Draco says, taking a sip from his morning coffee, and Astoria looks at him from across the breakfast table. He glances up at her quickly, his glasses balanced perfectly on the bridge of his nose, steam fogging up the lenses. "Don't worry, I don't expect you to attend."

Astoria stops mid bite of her morning toast, giving him a quizzical look. "I don't mind going."

He folds the paper, setting it on the table before he stands, coffee cup still in hand. She watches him take a slow, calculated sip before he pours the remnants down the drain and turns to look at her.

He pauses, arms coming to cross around his middle, and Astoria knows he's about to lie. One of the worst feelings that she's come to recognize crosses her mind; the knowledge that someone she trusts is about to lie, and all she can do is sit and wait. Wait for the one trustworthy man to lie right to her face over morning toast and coffee about something that should be normal, or even inefficient.

He begins his reason as to why she shouldn't attend the office party that everyone going will surely bring their significant others to.

She doesn't even try to listen.
