We exit the bunker cautiously, not knowing what dangers could be lurking around the next corner. I survey the area, and surprisingly there are no corpses around or anything, which could mean zombies, that all of this was a joke (I will be so very mad if it is), or something has happened that makes people/corpses (maybe) move around. I realize that we have no weapons, but hey, we're in a freaking military base.
"What happened to everyone...?" I whisper, quietly in case something bad can hear us.
"I don't know... I hope it isn't zombies..." says May nervously. We all know she has a HUGE fear of zombies.
"I kind of do hope it's zombies, but I also kind of don't..." says Russel. He's a very big fan of zombie shows and movies.
     "What if no one died in the first place...?" I ask. "What if we only lost all the electricity, or it's an alien invasion or something?" Everyone remains silent, pondering what I had just said.
"Regardless, we are going to need weapons or at least something to defend ourselves with. I think the security guards from the entrance had those police batons, right? Maybe we could find where they got those from," remarks Louis, intelligently. I almost faint. What did I do to deserve him?
"Good idea," says Freddy. "We should split up, we'll meet back here if we find anything. Emergency meeting spot is at the sidewalk in front of this place, in case it blows up or there actually are zombies or something. Autumn, Louis, and Nikki, go look outside to see if anything has happened or changed, like if there are big spaceships in the sky. Russ, you go with May to find those weapons. Kora, you're with me, we're gonna go see if there's anything else useful in here. Now, go!" Great. I'm with the girl who likes my boyfriend and my boyfriend who may or may not like her back. Fun. Well, at least Kora gets to go with Freddy.
     I look over at them, and see that Freddy us holding her hand and dragging her down a dark hallway, holding with a flashlight that he found somewhere. If this was a movie, I would've bet all my money that she was blushing like crazy right now.
     "We should um... go now, right?" says Louis, nervously, snapping me out of my nervous state.
"Yeah," says Nikki, grabbing his hand.
My face starts to turn to a scowl, but I quickly plaster on a fake smile, realizing that this was tough for Louis already and not wanting to put anymore pressure on him. I quickly grab his other hand, squeezing it lightly to show support. He squeezes back and gives me a weak smile. We head to our left, where I remember coming in, days and days ago when we all led a (semi) normal life.
     We then take another left, turning down into a new hallway. There is light at the end of the hallway, it must be an exit.
"Look Louis, we're almost there!" says Nikki, staring at him with a loving gaze. I hear him gulp, I just really hope he makes her stop now, I can't deal with her much longer. I realize that I'm holding onto his hand with a death grip, seeing him visibly wince. Sorry, I mouth at him. He just nods.
     "Look, Nikki..." he says, and I hope he just ends this all now.
"Yes?" she says, innocently, looking at him with her big brown eyes.
"Look, that night I kissed you, I didn't really mean it, I only did that to see what Autumn's reaction would be, it was really stupid of me. So, I don't actually like you. I mean I do like you as a friend, but, you get it, right? So please stop flirting with me..."
He did it. He finally did it. Nikki's face turns red, and she looks like she's about to spontaneously combust. But she forces a smile onto her face, and now she looks like a psychopath.
"It's fine..." she says, gritting her teeth.
"So... should we go check outside now?" I ask innocently, but on the inside, bursting with relief and excitement.
"Yeah, let's check what's out there..." Louis says.
     I can see that we're all sort of nervous now, not knowing what's out there, if it's completely harmless, deadly, or even just normal.
     We all slowly creep towards the exit, the excitement and fear combining to make us just nervous. I let go of Louis's hand finally and run to the door, unable to control my curiosity any longer.
"AUTUMN WAIT!!" shouts Louis, but it's too late. I'm already outside looking around.

A.N. Hey everyone!! Sorry I haven't updated lately, I've been going through somethings, so I was pretty busy.

And for anyone who doesn't know, spontaneously combust means to basically lighting yourself on fire but not using matches. Like just bursting into flame.
