Chelsea's Lies

Chelsea sat down on her couch just as the doorbell rang.
She muttered something to herself and sighed, standing back up again. She walked over to the door and unlocked it.
"Er... Hi.."
Chelsea sighed. "What do you want?"
The man walked in and closed the door behind him.
"I-It's Melody..."
Chelsea's eyes widened. "What about her?"
"She's been talking to this man... I-I don't know who he is... I think he's blind, I dunno.."
Chelsea hesitated. "I don't know him." She whispered, looking away and then running her fingers through her long blond hair.
The man sighed. "Well if you're not going to help me with Melody, can you at least help me with something else?"
"What else do you need help with?" Chelsea murmured, turning her head to look at the man again.
"I've been having these nightmares."
"What kind of nightmares, Mike?"
Mike hesitated.
"In the nightmares, I hear a voice whispering things like 'it's me' and 'don't you remember?'"
Chelsea sighed. "I used to have nightmares like that. I never truly understood them. But I don't have those nightmares anymore, for whatever reason." She said firmly. "I wish I could help you, but I can't."
Mike sighed. "Fine then. Oh, and don't tell Melody that I told you about her meeting that man."
Chelsea hesitated, but then nodded.
Mike opened the door, waved goodbye, and then left, closing the door behind him. Chelsea heard his car pull out of her driveway. She sighed in relief and then sat back down on her couch. She then picked up her TV remote and turned her TV on. At least the people on TV didn't ask her about stuff she'd rather not talk about.
