Recap:

Choji decided to do mine's and Shikamaru's paper for us since he's lazy and I'm a nervous wreck. I held Shikamaru's hand as he went to sleep.

"Choji, what are you doing with both their papers?" I froze at the voice.

That was Iruka sensei.

"Well you see, Shikamaru would not have done it so I should at least put some stuff down about him before he decides to do it himself later. Rena is just nervous since she's not used to many people." Choji answered.

My grip on Shikamaru tightened which woke him up. He woke up with a quick start which startled me and made me hold onto Choji's arm. Choji took my arms off him and handed me a pencil. "Why don't you do this now." He smiled. I nodded and started to write down stuff about me. Stuff like hobbies, likes and dislikes, friends, family, and my dream. I put the pencil down and looked at Choji who smiled. "See that wasn't hard." Iruka sensei on the other hand look rather shock.

"Rena, you write fast." I blinked. Do I? I slowly nodded and held Shikamaru's hand as he fell back to sleep since Choji is busy eating and writing. "Thank y-you sensei.." I whisper. He smiled and walked away from us to other students.

After finishing the papers, we were brought outside to spar. I stayed beside Choji and Shikamaru as I heard giggles and whispers around me. I shrunk and fell behind the two of them as we stood in the back. I really don't like this.

I think I zone out because I heard cheering all of the sudden. Something must have happened. They're too loud. I slowly walked backward, trying to escape to somewhere quiet or just go home.

"Rena, stay." Shikamaru said sternly. That's so rare of him. I slowly walked back and placed my head on his back. "I don't want to be here.." I mumbled. After a couple of people sparring, it was lunchtime. We went back to the classroom to eat lunch when we enter, we were one of the few that were inside. We sat in our seat and they brought out their lunch.

"Hey, where's your lunch?" Asked Choji.

"Eh? Was I suppose to bring lunch?" I asked confused. Choji looked horrified at my answer. He took out a bento box and unwrapped the cloth. He opened the top and broke the chopsticks he had apart. The food looked so delicious. I never had a bento lunch before.

He picked up some rice and leaned in my face. He pulled down my mask and force the food into my mouth. I chew and I was instantly in love. "This is delicious! Did your Mama do it?" I asked as he kept feeding me and himself with the food.

"Yup! Mom makes the best food!" Choji bragged as he stuffed my face and his face with food. I gladly chew and ate the food. "Sheesh, could you guys be a couple somewhere else." Complained Shikamaru. I turn to look at him.

"What's a couple?"

Shikamaru fell off his seat. He looked at me as if I was crazy. I look over at Choji to see him laughing. "I want more, please." I asked. He nodded and fed me some rice.

Delicious.

Shikamaru stood up and sat back in the seat. "Have you been living under a rock? I'll tell you after the academy is over." He sighed and ate his lunch. It was a cream bread. "Can I have a bite?" I asked him. His eyes grew wide and choked on his bread. After Choji stuffing me some bits of the egg with the rice, Shikamaru finally stopped coughing.

"There's a lot that we need to teach you." He sighed and press the bread against my lips. I opened my mouth and took a bite. Oh, strawberry flavor. He grabbed my left hand and made me grab the bread. "It's all yours now troublesome women." I happily took another bite. Delicious!!

———— Timeskip ————

The bell rang signaling that the academy is now over and we can go home. The three of us went outside where everyone's parents came to get their kid. I stopped and let them go to their parents. Mama is at work, Asami(the lady who hired us) didn't want me to work because it's my first day of the academy.

I just stood in the middle where no one was. I sighed and sat down on the bare ground, waiting for them to come and get me. I traced lines on the dirt, making spirals or little flowers.

"Rena, let's go!" A voice yelled. I stood up and quickly went to Choji. The three of us walked to one of our favorite spots. We went to get Choji food from the barbecue place and went to the park to sit on one of the benches. We sat watching the clouds together in peace.

"Hey, what's a couple?" I asked. Shikamaru sighed.

"A couple is two people who are married, engaged, or closely associated romantically." Shikamaru explained.

"So you're parents would consider as a couple." Choji nodded and ate his pork meat from the takeout box. "Then, are the three of us a couple because we like each other?" Shikamaru sighed and shook his head. "That's another definition of like. The like that you feel isn't romantic, it's a family type of love. Like as in you will stay with them for the rest of your life.

Like how you see some of the adults kiss and hold hands? That kind of like." I nodded my head. "Okay, I understand now. That doesn't mean I won't stop eating your food if you thought that was going to change."

Shikamaru groaned while me and Choji laughed. A couple. I look over at Choji and smiled. If it's Choji, I don't mind being a couple with him at all. After all, he is my first friend that I ever made. I took off my hood, revealing only my brown eyes since I still have my mask up.

"Hey, I think we are going to have an awesome time at the academy together! Let's make the best of it!" I smiled through my mask at them as Choji smiled and Shikamaru smirked.
