Almost a month has passed since the Doctor came back. Nobody came after that. The head members of Overwatch were all grouped for a meeting of the highest importance. It was time for the members to go on a mission.

"So it's decided then," said Winston with a long sigh. "We will send agents McCree, Genji, Tracer, and Doctor Ziegler for this mission. It's an infiltration mission so no rush. We just need to gather information."

"Won't it be better if I go alone on this?" suddenly blurted out the ninja. "I'm the one whose aptest for this kind of mission. I don't say that the others are not capable but if we're caught..."

"I see what you mean Genji," answered the monkey back. "But we can't let you go alone for this one."

"Why's that?" The scientist hesitated and glanced at Morrison next to him as if he was asking for help. The Japanese man sighed and shook it off. "I understand. Then, let's get ready."

After getting over the tasks they had to do for the mission, they all parted and went to their respective room. The members who were leaving prepared their stuff and gears to leave in two days. Some excitement was felt as well as anxiety. They had not done something like that for a while, at least as a team. The danger was always behind them.

The day of the mission arrived. It was noon and they had to meet at the plane on the rooftop. They all arrived more or less at the same time and were greeted by both Morrison and Winston.

"So, it's time, uh," said the scientist. "Be careful out there."

"Alright, Big Guy! No need to be so formal! We'll be back before y'all notice!" the cheerful British woman reassure them of their safety which made the 'Big Guy' smile.

They entered the ship, all geared up for the mission. They consulted beforehand for the type of gear they would have to wear; as it was a stealth mission, there was no way Mercy could take a shiny white armor so they had to make a new one, darker, so they would get caught immediately. Angela felt weird wearing black armor, she always had this white one after all. In her opinion, it made her look like a bad person. Genji noticed her frown when she looked at her and placed a hand on her shoulder to reassure her. "It's only for a night. Besides, you look great."

The Doctor looked up and gave a small smile. "Still, it feels weird. I've never worn anything like this."

"You look like an evil witch in this," McCree joked around with a smirk and got stares as an answer to his bad joke. "What I wanted to say," he started over after clearing his throat. "It's not the armor that makes the person so you should not worry."

At that Angela smiled and nodded. She stood up to go see Tracer, their pilot, as she wanted to know how much time was left for the trip. Only the two ex-Blackwatch members were left. It was silence for a while and the atmosphere felt very awkward for quite some time. Genji hesitated to start the conversation with his former college and he started to feel nervous by the situation as he felt more and more awkward. As he resolved himself to start the conversation, the cowboy opened his mouth.

"I thought you'd never come back, Genji. After everything that happened."

"So did I. I heard from Echo that you didn't want to come back at first."

"She can't keep her mouth shut, can she?" He chuckled a bit and looked back at the cyborg. "So, how was life? Where you'd been at?"

"In Nepal. I learned to be at peace with myself there. What about you?"

"Usual business. Met old acquaintances, fought some bad guys, got chased by people. Nothing new ya know."

Genji chuckled a bit. "You never change, do you?" McCree just shrugged with a smirk forming in the corner of his mouth.

It was silent again but not as awkward as before. They never were the talkative pair anyway so they stood there looking either at the window or at the ground. "You heard for the mad scientist?"

Genji looked at him with a puzzled look as he thought for a moment to who he was referring to. "Oh, you mean Doctor Moira, right?"

He nodded. "She joined Talon."

"That does not surprise me," the cyborg answered before he sighed. "I bet some other colleges ended up there as well."

"Who knows? Maybe the commander might be there as well."

"Reyes? Is he not dead?"

"Weren't Amari and Morrison supposed to be dead as well?"

Genji could not find anything to say back to that. He was right, but for the former Blackwatch commander to be part of a terrorist organization. "I guess if he was still alive after all the conflicts he had with Morrison and the shitty situation he was put in, it is not that surprising but still he was not a bad guy. He had his method but he still fought for peace."

McCree clicked his tongue. "Oh, you don't realize of much things have changed after you left," the cowboy said in low voice. Sorrow could be heard in his voice. Genji could easily guess how bad things must have been while he was away by just hearing those words. However, he did not ask what he meant by that, he knew how hard it must have been for everyone who stayed during this harsh time in Overwatch. If he needed to know, someone would tell him at some point so there was no need rushing it all.

McCree did not seem to hold a grudge on him for leaving but not everyone did. Not everyone close to him at least. They knew he would eventually leave after his contract with Overwatch ended so they were not surprised when he left out of the blue with just a word left in his room. Genji was afraid at first some would grow to hate him but it did not mean he regretted his choice – never would he regret this choice. After some time, the two women came back and sat together at the small coffee table in the corner. The ship was on autopilot so Lena could come and talk to them. They were catching up on things from when Overwatch collapsed to the day they decided to come back. They did have time to talk as Mercy had been running around the base to get the medical references of everyone. She could not recover all her previous data and there were new members such as Brigitte so it doubled her work. She also had to bring all her paperwork and machinery back at the base in Gibraltar and it took time for them to be delivered in her office – and they had to be careful to not deliver it all at once to not be spotted by either Talon or the government so they had to use pickup point, and often a different one each time. She had been very busy, to say the least, but she got help from a few members when she received her materials and they also helped her to organize her office. Winston and she were the busiest but they were not left alone as everyone at the base had their back. For now, they were a very united group and no internal conflict raged on yet, which was a good sign for the future of this "new" Overwatch.

Lena turned around and called for Genji. The latter stood up and joined the two women at the coffee table. He sat down and they both looked at him. "Do you need anything?"

"Yes, luv'! I wanted to hear more about your stay in Nepal! You hadn't told much and Doctor Ziegler did not hear any of the stories yet."

He nodded. It was true he had not told Angela anything yet. McCree joined them and sat next to the blonde woman, also interested in the conversation. "So, where to start? After I finished my mission at Overwatch by dismantling all the members of my family and joined your crew, later on, I decided there was nothing left here for me so I just left and I never planned to come back. I felt at war with myself, I hated what I've become but you know all that. After I left Overwatch, I wandered for years in the world without any purpose. I still had no idea what I was searching for but I kept going. Eventually, I met an omnic monk whose name is Zenyatta. He wanted to help me when he saw my struggles and I kept rejecting him but he was more stubborn than I was. After some time I accepted and he led me to a monastery on top of a mountain in Nepal. It is there that he taught me to accept myself as I was and he helped me in the path of forgiving those that once betrayed or used me. So I came to forgive my brother and Overwatch for everything."

They stood silent as they listened to his story. Genji was one of the people that went through a lot and who struggled the most. After the death of his father, the leader of the Shimada clan, everything went wrong for him. His brother and he got into a conflict that almost got him killed. Doctor Ziegler saved him and he was turned into a weapon and worked for Overwatch under the Blackwatch division before he was integrated to the Overwatch team. "But I always wondered," Tracer said, deep in thought. "Why did you agree to be turned into a weapon if you didn't like the idea since the beginning?"

He looked down to his legs, rubbing them gently with his hands, and answered to her in a low and deep voice. "I wanted to walk again."

This simple sentence took Tracer aback. She clearly felt uneasy by his words. Lena kept her mouth shut and glanced back at Angela then to McCree who had the same look. They both knew already about this as they were more accustomed to the ninja than she was. She looked at her hands and bit her lips. It was obvious she felt guilty for asking such a question. Genji looked up and saw everyone's expression. He was about to say something when Athena echoed through the speaker and warned them that they were closing on their destination. Lena hurried to the front to prepare for landing.

They all stood up and went to the seat they were at before to put their belt on so they would not fall while landing. Everyone had a stealthy armor on, Genji was the only one to have the same outfit.

Once they landed, the opted out of the ship rapidly and it took off once they were a few feet away. Each member put their earpiece on and they separated into two groups: McCree and Tracer will stay at ground level while Genji will go through the rooftop followed by Mercy. Their mission was located in Germany on one of Talon's bases. This base was known for its research facilities and its experiences on both humans and omnics.

"If they have research facilities it means there will be a lot of important information about their whereabouts," Winston claimed during the meeting they had before the mission. "But it also means it will be well guarded. McCree and Genji, you're both used to stealth missions."

"If when you say 'used to stealth missions' you mean 'used to getting shot at' then yes we are," the cowboy answered with a chuckle.

"It's a serious mission McCree," Morrison rebuked him.

"Easy there Jack, there is no need to be so grumpy," Ana said as she tried to calm him down.

"You need to enter the building, gather information, and leave as soon as possible. Once you're out of the city, call the ship back and they'll come back for you," the scientist continued to explain the plan while he showed them a map of the city on the board.

Suddenly, Genji stepped forward as he looked at the map. "The building is fairly big, it'll take forever to look for anything that might interest us."

Ana nodded. "You're right. Then, you should separate into two groups."

"Won't that be too dangerous?" Angela asked.

"It should be okay. But if anything goes wrong, don't think twice and just come back. We can't afford losing anyone." They all nodded to the worried woman.

"We should have Genji climbed up the building and entered by the rooftop. If we take that option, only you Angela can follow him by flying to him," Jack suggested.

Angela nodded. "So I suppose it makes Lena and I, right?"

"Exactly," he answered. "It would be easier for you two to infiltrate at a base level but it will be more difficult for you two so you may need to wait for the green light from Genji and Angela."

"Then it's settled. Stay safe, you staying alive is what matters for now. Good luck out there, heroes," Winston finished with this sentence and the meeting was finished.

The four of them walked in the city undercover so they would not get caught by any guards circulating. Genji was at the front with Lena to check if there was anyone before the two others could join them. Eventually they reached the base. They were hidden behind a house nearby. Genji left to scoot the surrounding so it was only the three of them behind the house. For now, everything was going well, much to the doctor's pleasure. Genji came back not long after to tell them what he saw.

"So?" McCree pressed, looking nervous. Everyone was kind of nervous by the situation but they needed to keep composure so they would not mess everything up.

"Three guards at the front door and no one in the different balconies or one the rooftop. I looked quickly through one the window near the door there are five more guards inside."

"How are we gonna get in then?" Tracer asked, worryingly.

Genji continued, "I saw another door on the left side. There was only on guard but I could not see if there was any inside."

"I guess we have no other choice but to take this one. Hope that chance will be on our side." McCree sighed and stood up.

The four of them parted ways and Genji and Mercy silently went to the other side of the building to climb it. Genji started climbing and stopped at a ledge easy to stand so Mercy could not fall out while he continued climbing. After a good five minutes, they reached the top. McCree notified them through their earpiece that they managed to get in and they knocked off the guard and left him in a building a few blocks away. Genji and Mercy nodded to each other and they jumped onto the closest balcony. Genji took his small sword and managed to slide it between the two doors of the french window and opened it without too much sound. The ninja entered first then the doctor followed him. They ended up in a dark and empty library. They walked in carefully while looking around to check if anyone was in the area or if they could spot anything interesting. Genji moved from shelf to shelf to look for any presence or camera. Once he checked everywhere, he came back where he left Angela but did not find her there. Panic started to build inside of him as he started to call her in a whisper while looking for her. He continued in search but she was not in sight. He was ready to call her through his earpiece when he suddenly felt a tap on his shoulder. He drew his small sword in no time and brought it to the person who just touched him.

"Jeez, calm down it's me," a feminine voice whispered. He stared at the person for a second and as the adrenaline went down, he realized it was the person he was looking for all along. He sighed in relief and drew back his sword. "Sorry, did I scare you?"

"A little," he admitted. "I was looking for you, I started to worry."

" I saw a huge closet at the back of the room and I thought I was going to give a look."

"Anything good?"

She shook her head. "Nothing much. But I did find the map of this place so it might come handy. I saw there is a computer room near where McCree and Tracer might be so I think we should guide them here, they might find interesting things on some computers. After that, Winston can help them to hack into things if they needed."

Genji brought a hand to his chin and raised an eyebrow while he stared at his partner. "Will they be able to do such things?"

"They will have to. It will take too much time for us to join them and we might get caught on the way there." The cyborg agreed to her friend's statement. They did not have all night for this type of things and they can not risk messing everything up.

Genji informed the two agents who were on the first floor to go there and call for Winston for help. Once he finished he joined his partner who was still looking at the map to find any more interesting room. "What about us?"

"I think we should try the lab."

"Are you sure? It must be the most guarded place. If not guarded, there must be alarms everywhere."

"Yeah," she paused, deep in thought. "Should we try to snap a pass?"

"You mean from one of the scientists?" She just nodded at his question which threw him off. "That's way beyond careless at this point. We can't just do that."

"Well, how do you want us to get in here?"

"I dunno, but we can't just do that!"

"Shush! Keep your voice down," she whisper-yelled at him.

"Is someone in here?" a voice suddenly asked as the door opened. The two Overwatch agents did not think twice and hid in a hurry. The steps grew closer and closer. They both could feel the adrenaline growing inside of them. If they are caught, it is finished, go home now – that if, if they managed to go home.

Angela felt a knot in her stomach as she tightly held onto her staff. She turned her gaze towards her cyborg friend who was ready to jump on the man at any instant. They nodded to each other and the doctor made a small noise to get the man closer. The latter did walk right where they wanted and Genji jumped behind him and drew his sword under his neck. "Give us your ID card."

"W-what? Who are you?!" The man's body was shaking like crazy and he was slowly turning pale as he felt the blade on his neck.

"You don't need to know this. Just do as you're asked and I won't kill you."

"A-alright!" He reached inside his pocket slowly.

Genji tighten his grip on the man and put more pressure on his neck. "And don't try to fool me. If you do anything rash, you'll be dead in an instant." The man gulped and tears started to form in the corner of his eyes. He took out his ID card and held it out to Genji. "Drop it," he simply answered. The man executed without any more words and threw it on the floor.

"You know you won't get out of this place alive, right?" the man threatened the ninja which produced a chuckle out of him.

"We'll talk about that later, alright? Now, sleep."

His voice was cold as ice as he pronounced these last words. The Talon agent started to panic and tried to get away as soon as he understood he was not going to just let him go. Angela went out from her cover and took a needle from her side pocket and stick it in his arm. The product entered his body rapidly and he soon fell asleep on the floor. The woman sighed in relief and crouched down to pick the card. Genji dragged the body on the desk to make it looked like he just fell asleep while working. Once finished, the two walked carefully towards the door and opened it slightly to look if anyone was outside. Genji winced when he saw how bright it was in the corridor. He told Mercy to be very mindful of all their surroundings while wandering in these long corridors. Once they made sure no one was around, they stepped out and started to make their way around to reach their wished destination.

After a lot of games of hide-and-seek and a lot of paths avoided for the sake of safety, they finally reached the laboratory. They could not see through any of the glasses outside so they were in a very tight situation: either they are alone or someone is here and the quickest thing they could do to avoid any chaotic encounter was to shut them down as quickly as possible even if it meant to kill them. Of course, none of them wanted this to happen but Genji was ready to use his weapon if no other choice appeared before him. Heart racing, Angela took the card in hand and placed it next to the security lock. She took a small breath and passed the card through the locking mechanism. The door opened in an instant, exposing both the two agents and whoever might be in the room. Genji had his ninja stars drew, ready to throw them at any moment. They stepped into the room and looked around with keen eyes.

"It seems empty," said Angela, a bit relief. Genji settled down as well but stayed on guard nonetheless.

The two of them started to look into the different shelves and desks to look for any useful information. Soon enough, they were contacted by McCree and Tracer who announced they found something very useful about the different Talon's quarters across the world and other information that they would tell them after. Doctor Ziegler asked to wait for them near the building so they can leave together as quickly as possible when they were finished. "Also, don't hesitate to leave us behind if you see anything happen inside," she gave them a final order which they were reluctant to accept but she left them with no other choices. The doctor went back to her search then Genji came to her with some documents. She asked him what it was about only to notice the name on top of these documents.

"It's Moira's paperwork."

Mercy clicked her tongue. "This mad scientist... She's really willing to do anything in the name of science."

"Should we take it with us?"

"Might be useful."

"Let's get going then."

Angela nodded, and they both started to walk towards the door when they heard people talking near the room. Instinctively, they hid behind furniture and waited to see if they were going in or not. The doctor was praying for them to go away from behind a desk, holding onto the paperwork of her former co-worker. The voices grew closer and closer, and she felt beads of sweat forming on her forehead as she waited for these people to just go away. Suddenly, the voices stopped, and the room felt awfully quiet. She did not know how much time had passed but it felt like an eternity for her. After a long and painful moment, footsteps and voices grew distant before nothing could be heard anymore. They both stood up and rapidly went to the exit. They could not stay here any longer. They hurried through the corridor and back to the library so they could use the same path they used to get in. When they arrived, the man they knocked down was not here anymore. Mercy cursed under her breath and told her friend to hurry. She contacted the other members of the mission and told them to just run for the extraction point. Genji and Angela made their way out quickly but carefully and ran in the German streets while avoiding any Talon's guards towards the extraction point. As they ran away, they heard an alarm ringing, and right at this moment, they knew there was no time to waste. Genji asked Mercy to jump on his back, and the two of them together jumped from roof to roof at an amazing speed.

After all this running, they finally reached outside the city and caught up with their two friends. Lena waited for them to catch their breath before asking what happened. Genji told them that they would explain everything inside the ship when they were entirely safe. Soon after, they all jumped in the ship and flew back into the base.
