KALLUTO POV

I was finally nearing the stone-estate, and holy shit a lot of things happened in the past couple of days.

Anyways, I'm really excited to get my sword wonder what colour it'll turn into....

I...wonder if the others got their swords already?

I knocked on the main door and Yama-san opened the door.

She's a kind old lady that looks after the stone estate, and her shrimp fried rice recipe is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.

She's also the one who taught me how to read and speak Japanese, although I'm not really fluent.

Ah- welcome back Kalluto-chan! She greeted me in a gleeful tone.

It's nice to be back Yama-san. I replied with equal enthusiasm.

I really like her.

Is-Gyomei-san here? I asked.

She looked at me with a hint of sadness.

I'm afraid not, he had to take a mission that was a bit far so he isn't here yet.

Oh-thats fine. I said sitting in front of Yama-san and eating the mochis she brings.
Killua should be greatful I gave him these heavily delicacies.

Not that he'd ever find them again.

Your sword hasn't arrived yet, but your uniform has. Said Yama-san.

Really! I said, wonder if it's the standard uniform....

Hopefully, the pervert that made Mitsuri's uniform wasn't assigned to me.

Mitsuri couldn't even refuse and wore what she got, I swear she's too good and pure for this world........ Shinobu on the other hand burned it, which was badass.

Well wearing it and burning it, both actions take a lot of courage.

I looked at my uniform, it seemed that the top half was a shirt with silver buttons, collar and long sleeves which were a little flaily at the end.

Hmm looks normal.

It was the bottom half that concerned me...

Why did they give me a skirt?!

I took the skirt and kept it on my waist to measure the length.

Hmm...it goes upto my knees, not too bad.

Well atleast it's long.

It's not that I don't like skirts, i'd wear them if it was for any other occasion.

But for combat...

You can just add leggings below the skirt. Said Yama-san.

I turned my head to her.

Of course she would notice my dilemma.

Come with me. She said.

I have her a tiny smile and followed her.

She came to a halt in front of a room.

It's Yama-san's room. I had been in there a lot of times.

We ate mochi, ohagi, shrimp fried rice and a lot of stuff here.

She opened one of the drawers and took out a pair of black leggings...

They may be a bit big...but I think they will fit well, said Yama-san handing me the leggings which were in perfect condition.

Thank you, these will be really helpful. I said gratefully.

These belonged to my granddaughter. She said and that's all I needed to know.

Yama-san had talked about her granddaughter, she was a demon slayer. I never asked how she had died, I didn't wan't to after seeing the solemn expression on Yama-san's face.

I thanked her again and hugged her.

She's trusting me enough to give me her granddaughter's stuff...

Ah! She suddenly exclaimed.

I was a bit startled but looked at her questioningly.

Gyomei-san left you a couple of gifts.

Gifts.............? For me................?

She then shuffled through a deeper drawer and handed me the stuff while I stood there stupified.

I Snapped back from my trance to look at the items that had been handed to me.

I look a look at the shoes first.

Boots.

They were knee high boots like Kanao-chan but were dark blue and black in colour and had white laces.

Then I looked at the cloth, it was a haori.....

One that was actually not too large for me.

A black haori with good luck cats printed on back of it.

Ridiculous. I said.

Gyomei-san insisted on picking out stuff himself, so they can be a bit weird, I just helped finding the correct size. Said Yama-san.

These are so ridiculous.....I love them. I said launching myself and hugging Yama-san again.

I felt my eyes well up a little, even though I didn't cry. These were my first tears of happiness.

Oh! Kalluto-chan this old lady's back cannot take surprise hugs anymore! Yama-san said but laughed and still hugged me back.

Yama-san later explained to me that the demon slayers have made certain modifications to their outfit, but most demon slayers wear the uniforms designed in the older eras as they are effective and to preserve some traditions from the demon slayer.

I decided not to make any major modifications to my uniform and keep it as it is.

I'd hug Gyomei-san and thank him the next time I meet him, this is the first gift I've ever recieved...

KILLUA POV

Eh.......!!!!!! I helped involuntary.

This brat!!

He actually stole one of my choco-robos!

I huffed and eyed the marshmallow look alike.

What's a mochi??

And then I took the bracelet into my hands.

He said it was a freebie.....why the heck would I want a freebie?!

Killua imagined his littlest sibling making a potion in a big black pot and dipping the bracelet into it, cackling.

He sweat-dropped..... probably not.

Is it possible that Kalluto didn't even do this?

Can't be Milluki, again he's too lazy.

It couldn't be Illumi too, he's not home yet as far as he's heard.

Did Illumi set up Kalluto to do this...?

He couldn't be sure he's never really talked to his younger brother, the only interaction they had is the one he can vaguely recall.

Yeah..it's probably Kalluto, he should be  mostly either with mom or outside on a mission.

Now that he thinks about it, he hasn't seen the youngest Zoldyck in two-er maybe three years.

He quickly stuffed both the things in his bag pack and hurried along the corridors.

He would find Kalluto and give him an earnful about his chocolate robots, but he doesn't have time to search for him in the mansion.

What if his father changes his mind??

On the way to the Butler's quarters he ran into his mother and Milluki.

Che.....-

He doesn't have time for this!

He decided to just stuff both the things into his bag pack.

KALLUTO POV

I heard a knock on the door and rushed to open it.

I will not admit that I was sitting on the mat near the entrance the whole time.

I opened the door to see a man....with a weird octopus mask?

Right....swordsmith wore that, I forgot.

My name is Kozo Kanamori, I have forged Kalluto Zoldyck's sword. The swordsmith introduced himself.

Have I heard that name before...? I thought as I welcomed him inside.

We sat down.

Usually, one gets their sword fifteen days after the final selection but since you were one of the less injured people in the selection and you're Gyomei-san's Tsugoku...your sword is delivered in half the time. Explained Kanamori-san.

Does that mean I hurried my nen training for nothing?! I thought with an invisible tick-mark.

I see. Is all I said.

The same procedure is being followed for the butterfly-hashira's Tsugoku. He continued.

...he means Kanao...I thought.

Before I hand over Kalluto-san's sword I would like to tell you about the nichirin blade, Kanamori said.

I nodded and listened attentively.

This is known as a nichirin sword.

The iron sand and ore that are the materials for a nichirin are gathered from the mountains closest to the sun.

Scarlet iron sand and scarlet iron ore, both absorb sunlight.

The sun on mount Yoko shines all year long, it is never rainy or cloudy.

And the last thing I want to say.....don't you ever break your sword.

I sweat-dropped, even with the mask on I can feel his threating expression.

Atleast it is not Haganezuka....I thought remembering the not so subtle threats he sent Tanjiro...

He handed me the sword which was fully black in colour.

Come on draw it. He said.

I nodded and slowly drew my sword.

Woah...I let out as I saw my eyes on the shiny silver surface.

It hadn't been a second and the sword started to change colour.

I started at the blade and I slowly muttered....it's purple.....

No....it's mauve. Said Kanamori-san.

Mauve...? I questioned.

Isn't it just purple? I made the mistake of saying.

Purple....? Kanamori said in a threatening voice, from which angle is it purple are you colourblind?! It's clearly MAUVE. Said Kanamori.

Oh okay sorry, it's mauve! I said sweating invisible bullets.

Jeez man chill out! What the heck?

Anyways, I've never seen such a colour...it's interesting. Said the swordsmith, totally calm as if the last fourty seconds never happened.

I took a look at the sword again.

My own blade....

Kaw! Kalluto Zoldyck, you must head to a village in the south!

Gama-kun. I was startled when the crow who was assigned to me suddenly appeared.

When I met him the first time I found it funny how a crow was named Gama.

Children have been disappearing there!

This will be your first job as a demon slayer!

This Southern-town go and beware!

Juviniles disappearing, night after night!

I looked at Gama-kun with determination and gripped my sword.

It's finally time.

Let's do this!

The wails of a woman could be heard throughout a village on the outskirts of a town.

There was a heavy and gloomy atmosphere.

Beside her some people could be heard whispering.

Nari-san's child too......

These mochi thingy's are really good! Way Better than marshmallows! He thought with a cat like face.

Wonder if I can find them around here?

This is somewhat, how Kalluto's uniform looks like without the haori.

I tried to give a glimpse of her breathing style too....🌸🌷🪻
