Rosemary had left only for a moment when I saw a frost white flash.

  "Rose?" I called out, frightened. What if she was hurt? There was no response. "Rosemary Vecah?"

I don't like this feeling. I haven't liked to be alone after my parent's 'love' ruined me. I ran to the room I'd seen her enter to find her. She was nowhere to be found, and the guests for the party where going to arrive soon!

Faint knocking was heard which only accelerated my frantic anxiety. With laboured breathing, I dashed to the door.

I opened it to find a golden-brown, long-haired girl who looked about Rose and I's age. Her face showed obvious eveidence of recent crying.

"Hi, my name is Lavender. I assume you're the Pike that Rose talked about."

"Uh..." I stared at her for just a moment, my breathing calming slightly due to no longer being alone, "Yeah."

  "Is Rosemary here too?" She looks at me oddly as I let her in, shaking my head.

  "She was but she just," I stop due to being incapable of describing it.

"Vanished?" Lavender prompts.

"How did- did you know?"

  "The same thing happened with my friend Rayne." That must be the reason she had been crying.

  "Did you- did you see a flash?"

"No, but she was gone when I got home from Rose and my meet up. When did Rosemary disappear?"

  "Less than ten- than ten minutes ago; the flash had happened but then- then she was gone."

Lavender nods. "Should other guests be arriving?"

"They should be, but I don't- don't think they will- will show."

  "Why not?"

  "Well if they're gone- gone, who's to say- say that others aren't too?"
