Rayne sighed. "Can I go sleep now?"

"No! We just started the movie!"

"We've seen it a million times!" The screen glared at them 'Demon Enhance'.

"So? It's a good movie!"

"But what about your meeting with Rosemary?"

I gasped. "Oh yeah I forgot!" I quickly jumped up and made my way to the front door. I patted down my golden brown hair and stepped into the warm air, almost forgetting to put on shoes.

"Don't forget to call on your way back!"

"Ok MOM."

"You know perfectly well that if I was your mother you wouldn't live with me. You're 12 and we're allowed to live with friends here."

I laugh. "Stop being logical Rayne!"

"No. Now go; I need sleep."

"Yeah ok. I'm leaving!"

"Lav!" The voice of a certain blue-eyed, brown-haired, bubbly Rosemary called out to me.

"Hey Rosemary, how are you?"

"I'm well. I met someone."

"Ooohh. You gonna tell me his name?"

"Only the first, Pike."

I giggle. "Wow, when do I get to meet him?" I'd most likely threaten him, but she didn't need to know that.

"Tonight at my place try and bring Rayne too?"

Laughing, I nod. "If I can get the lazy bean out of bed."

The two of us skip down the sidewalk, heading torwads the park. "Do you think the grass here is dead too?"

"Maybe, but it has its green color!"

"We're not skeletons, are we?"

"True."

A frost white light shines in the corner of my eye, but I ignore it.

We reach the park and stare into the glass clear lake. It has a perfect mirror reflection of the tress behind me and my dark brown eyes until I fall in.

"Rosemary!" All I hear is laughter. Dang, I hate that girl sometimes.

Rosemary and I had talked for hours, and I may have left my phone at home. Hopefully Rayne was asleep, otherwise I have to deal with her mother-henning me.

"Rayne?" I call out when she doesn't awnser the door. Even if she'd been asleep, she would have woken up at the sound of knocking.  "Rayne where are you?"

I take out my keys and unlock the door. Quietly I knock on Rayne's wall to her bedroom. "Rayne?"

Her door was open; I peaked inside to see an empty bed.
