Jesse's POV

With a toss from Lukas, I was able to launch myself in the air right towards the Kraken, but it managed to catch me in midair, trapping me using every one of its tentacles to constrict and trap me in place.

"Petra now!" I yelled down to her and she charged in and struck a fatal blow to the area right near the middle of the tentacles where its mouth resided. It gave one last shriek of pain and all its tentacles fell limp in the dark water of the pond. I untangled myself from all the limp limbs, with some help from Lukas, before wringing the dark water from my hair.

"Nice move Petra, how did you know about its weak spot?" J asked as he wrenched Petra's sword from where she stabbed the Kraken.

"I spotted it earlier and motioned to it to Jesse while you weren't looking." Petra responded shaking the water out of her damp red hair and retrieving her sword from J.

"That was impressive, but now we have to move forward." Xara pointed out as she began to step over all the limp tentacles towards the waterrise and we all followed behind.

"Buzzkill..." J muttered and Xara shot him a death glare and he coughed awkwardly.

"You guys ready for whatever's behind here?" I asked just as we stopped in front of the water.

"Yep."

"Absolutely."

"Always."

"You got it!"

Everyone answered over each other and I smiled gratefully before we all went through and came into a large cave that was lit by orange torches, instead of the regular yellow ones, and, at the far end of the cave, there was an entrance to a stairwell that was composed of reddish black patterned blocks that looked similar to netherrack.

"Down we go." Lukas whispered and I led everyone down the stairwell after I pulled a torch from the wall to light the way down.

Stair Ascending Time Skip

"We made it." J breathed as we all panted from the long flight of stairs.

"Why is it that every place we go to on our adventures always has to involve stairs?" Petra exasperated with slight annoyance.

"Yeah? Like Soren's fortress in the end." J remembered.

"Oh and the stairway to the Old Builder's Games?" Lukas laughed a little.

"I have a feeling I'm missing a lot of personal history here, but we have to stay focused for what could lie ahead." Xara interrupted our nostalgic flashbacks.

"Hate to admit it, but she's right, who knows what could be at this 'source code'." Petra admitted.

"What's up with you, your usually the one who loves getting into trouble?" J questioned suspiciously.

"Need I remind you of back in the Portal Hallway when I said I don't like to fight just for the sake of fighting? Besides, where's the fun in fighting a person who wants to kill us for not doing something we already did for her and killed our friend for doing it." We all looked at her confused by what she said and she groaned and added, "You know what I mean."

"I get it Petra, but we will make things right, I know that whatever happened to Cassie to make her forget that we did save her, we'll undo it." I told everyone as we came to the entrance of the maze that Addie had mentioned to us before she...

"Well, we're here." Lukas started softly as they all saw the entrance beckoning to them with blue torches lighting the ways.

"How're we gonna get through this?" J asked no one in particular and Xara went up to the entrance to mentally negotiate possible routes to take

"Addie told us that her powers would be able to help us, we just need to figure out how." I looked down at it on my wrist and the center black jewel began to glow dimly.

"Uh guys..?" I held up my arm to show everyone what was happening and they all were startled.

"What's happening?" Xara asked as she walked back over to us.

"Hang on..." I whispered as I walked over to the entrance and moved the bracelet around and, like the Old Order's amulet, it glowed brighter and dimmer when I moved it in certain directions.

"It's like it's leading the way." Xara noted while tapping her chin with her hand in thought.

"Then let's follow it." Petra approved with a fist punch.

Maze Navigation Time Skip

"We're out, finally!" I exclaimed excitedly meanwhile everyone was moaning with wet and slightly burnt looks.

"You'd think a code manipulating bracelet would alert us of any traps along the way." Xara snapped, annoyed, as she dusted off the ash from her purple hair.

"Sure we hit some rough spots here and there, but at least we made it through in one piece." J chided the others.

"Barely..." Lukas pointed out as he tried to cover the severed strands of his blonde hair with his goggles.

"Yeah we may have had some trial and error-" I started to say.

"Per the norm." Petra interrupted.

"-but look, the entrance to the source code is right up ahead." I pointed to the doorway that was marked by a border of mossy stone that had purple glowing moss of it instead of the regular green moss.

"What is up with nature down here?" J asked as he poked the glowing, purple moss and his fingers came away glowing.

"I think it's actually pretty cool, it's...unique." Lukas took down some notes in his notebook before putting it away as I stepped forward to figure out how the door opened.

Luckily, I didn't need to search long, because the way to open it was to step on the pressure plate that was on the side instead of in front of the entrance.

After I stepped on it, the door opened and our weapons were drawn and ready to use as we cautiously sneaked into the source code control room that had no lights on, curiously. As we did so we didn't hear a single noise and I began to warn everyone,

"Remember, guys, we have to be careful-"

"Of any enemies you might run into?" A voice rang out and the lights were turned on to reveal Cassie Rose on the platform right in front of the main code controls.

"Boo..."

AN- Hi Y'all! Today was the third anniversary of Minecraft Story Mode, so I thought it would be appropriate to update this story, especially since I've been kind of slacking on it 😓 I'm sorry I've been lacking the motivation to work on this story more, but I will try to end this on a high note soon.
