Revelation and Healing
Radix's POV
"So let me get this straight."
I looked at Error with disbelief.
"You are the Multiverse God of Destruction and your counterpart is Ink."
"yEP."
"You overwork yourself and you are forced to take innocent lives because Ink goes to far."
"soUNDs aBOut riGhT."
"Most of your friends are all of the villains in the multiverse and your other friends are a different version of Swap and someone you call Geno."
"uH Huh."
"And you fell into the Void during a confrontation with Ink."
"yoU gOT ThIS on yOUr fIRst trY And GOt everYThiNG RIgHt. i'M ImprEssED."
"So you basically had a rough past."
"ItS FiNE. yoU Don'T hAvE TO worRy abOUt mE."
Poor Error. I can't believe he had to go through all of that. I wonder how sane he is?
"Hey Error?"
"yeAh?"
"I don't want to offend you or anything, but are you... Sane?"
"wOW. tHAt's a FIrsT. I tHInk I aM iN BetwEen. I hAVe sOMe... ePISodeS. But otHEr thEN ThaT i Am sAnE. I thInK."
"So you won't kill anyone here?"
"As loNg As yOu doN'T piSs mE OfF, i prObABly wOn'T."
I touched his shoulder gently but that still made him tense up. I need to get him used to being touched again. I'm glad he is tolerating me, but I doubt he will act the same to the others after what Reverie pulled. He will definitely freak out if he meets Paint. I can already tell Error doesn't trust anyone, including me. At least he is trying. That's when I heard the door slam open downstairs.
"Sans! You have a visiter from one of those AU's you keep talking about!"
Uh oh. But I closed off my AU. How? The only Sans that can go to closed off AU's is Paint... Shit.
"I'm coming down Pap just give me a minute!"
I looked back at Error, who looked at me with slight panic.
"I thOUghT YOu cLOsED oFF YoUR AU?"
"I did. You should stay up here until whoever is here leaves."
"nAH. I'lL COme dOWn wiTH yOU."
"Are you sure that's a good idea?"
"NoPE. buT I aM BOrED sO I wiLl tAKe a gAMblE aND hOPe it'S SomEOnE beSIdE REveRIe."
"FIne. Just... Just keep an open mind."
Error followed me downstairs, and just who I thought it was is here. Paint. Error stopped in his tracks.
Error's POV
I regret coming down now. Out of everyone who could have traveled here, it was another version of Ink. He even has the same paintbrush except its much smaller. He has that same black ink mark on his skull but this one seems bigger, and his eye resembles classics bad time eye except this one is a lighter shade of blue. He is wearing the exact same scarf as Ink except this one is a light tan color. He's wearing the same color hoodie as his eye with a brown sash across his chest that carry the exact same god damn paints that Ink uses. He also has a brown belt that carries extra paint around his waist that hold up his black baggy pants. His sneakers are white and blue with grey soles. What stopped me from attacking him on sight was that he has a soul, unlike Ink.
Just because he looked different doesn't mean I am going to relax. I've been injured from attackers because I let my guard down. So I am staying behind Radix at a safe distance and by safe distance I mean I have my eye on the front door. This new Sans was currently curiously studying me and I hate it.
"Hey Paint! What are you doing here?"
"I'm here to talk about what happened in the Abyss and the new Sans that you are protecting."
"Umm. That's a long story for another time and this is Error Sans. Error this is Paint from Ink!Tale"
"HeY."
I want to die right now. I have never seen a version of Ink look at me in such an inviting way before. It feels... unnatural. It goes against what I was created to do and my instincts are warning me to attack or flee while I still can. But I don't want to leave just yet. I'll give this five minutes before I book it to Snowdin Forest.
"Hi Error! It's nice to meet you."
What surprised me was that Paint did not react to my glitched voice at all. Even Radix flinched when he first heard me talk. Radix walked over to the couch and sat down next to Paint and looked over to me. He made a gesture to sit down next to him and I froze. That's really pushing me over my comfort zone and he knows that. But his confidence was enough to convince me to reluctantly sit next to him. He once again placed his hand on my shoulder and I glared at him. He just gave me an innocent smile back. He has Blueberries courage and will to push me over my comfort zone. I'll give him that. Paint began to start a conversation.
"So Error, I didn't feel a new AU pop into existence so where are you from?"
"I doN'T KnOW."
Paint looked surprised while Radix gave me a look that told me to tell him the truth. He's right. I will eventually have to tell everyone if I didn't return back to my multiverse by then and I doubt that Radix would let me go back even if I could.
"OKaY oKAy i aM NoT FroM tHIs mulTIVErsE. aRE yOU haPPy rADix?"
"Very."
I just rolled my eyes and looked down. The ground is a very interesting place if I really want it to be. Paint gave me a curious look while Radix looked very full of himself.
"So can you tell me anything about your multiverse Error?"
"RaDIX cAN."
So i let Radix give a very brief explanation on what I do for a living. I am so close to bolting. Paint looks at me with pity. I hate pity.
"doN'T gIVe mE thAT LoOK pAInT. I doN'T LIkE pITy."
"Sorry sorry."
I'll believe that when he proves it. But I really don't want to be around anyone right now and my magic is back.
"wHIle iT wAs niCE TAlKIng tO yOu twO, I GOttA gO noW."
And now I am at the ruins door. I'm not gonna lie, it feels cold. This has never happened before. I am still just wearing my red shirt, black pants, and sandals. I shivered and growled in annoyance. I need to get to Waterfall or Hotland but my magic is out. That's when I felt a presence behind me.
"Seriously? This is my AU. I know where strangers are because of that."
"wELL iT WaS worTh a ShOT."
Radix noticed me shivering and put his hand on my shoulder before teleporting us back to his house.
"Hey Error. Do you want new clothes?"
"UhHh. nO thAnKs I Can MaKE My oWN."
This is a first.
"Are you sure?"
"Yep."
One Month Later Error's POV
No wonder Classic always fell asleep when he was patrolling. It is so unbelievably boring. Radix and Papyrus convinced me to do short patrols by myself near the ruins and I kinda regret it. I was still in Radix's AU and I have yet to see anyone beside Paints occasional visits. I made myself a jacket as I really did miss it when I wore my trench coat and scarf. I like the red hood and the yellow scarf. The sneakers are also a nice change as it is freezing in Snowdin. Radix told me that all of the AU Sanses feel the weather unlike the Sanses from my multiverse. I don't know if I like it. When I was the Destroyer, being able to be in any AU, no matter what type of weather it was going through without feeling it was a good advantage. Radix told me that he has to go back to the Abyss today and asked me if I wanted to come. I hesitated but still agreed. I don't want Radix to get hurt as I have no clue what these Sanses will do if he goes alone. I know from experience that if I was ever alone and in a relaxed state, I would always get hurt.
Radix has been helping get rid of my fear of being touch by having his hand on my shoulder whenever he felt like it. He also got most of the monsters in his AU to touch me on the shoulder whenever they decided to talk to me. Of course, Radix was there most of the time, making sure I was safe. But I learned to tolerate others even if he wasn't around. I even let the kids in Snowdin hug me though I refuse to let the older monsters do it. Most of my glitching was gone, and according to others, it's easier to understand me. If I do get stressed or angry, the glitches will come back so I try to look at the positives now to prevent it. I also got the chance to spar with Radix in the judgement hall for practice. He is definitely a challenge, as he keeps no patterns in his attacks and defenses. Instead of moving aside to dodge like Classic, he either summons a Gaster Blaster or a wall of bones to protect himself. His attacks though are relatively the same, but he told me he was holding back his more powerful attacks. He has more stamina and I have to admit that he is more powerful than Classic. But I still beat him every time. There is no need to spar but I have a bad feeling that I will need to be at my strongest in the future. I follow my feelings most of the time as they are usually right. But if I survived the fall into the Void. Who says the others can't do the same.
That puts me on edge to Radix's dismay. I can tell that he cares about me and I care about him to. I fully trust him now, though I can't say the same for Paint. Sure I somewhat trust him, but he reminds me of Ink to much. Radix noticed and now forces us to interact. What amuses me the most is that Paint is much taller than Ink so I couldn't call Paint shorty since he is taller than most of the other Sanses in this multiverse. The only problem I have now is sleep. I can feel that Bane and Reverie fight to watch my dreams or nightmares and it is getting really old. I also get flashbacks from the past. I haven't told Radix about my insomnia but I think he knows something is off. Sometimes I feel like Dream or Nightmare are watching me when i fall asleep or wake up and go throughout my day. It feels like they are trying to contact me but their presence always fades before I can tell if their there or not. It's starting to creep me out. I don't mind Nightmare as were friends but Dream could cause problems. Especially if both of them meet Bane or Reverie. My injuries have finally healed and I don't want new ones anytime soon.
"Error!"
I heard Radix calling. It looks like it's time.
"I am cOming okay!"
I made a shortcut to his house to see Paint and Radix waiting. Radix put his hand on my shoulder for a confidence boost probably and Paint gave me an encouraging smile.
"Lets go."
Paint opened a portal after saying that and we all entered. Back to the Abyss.
Third Person POV
Error, Radix, and Paint came to an unsurprising scene. At least to Radix and Paint. Error was shocked that there was a full on fight going on. It seemed to be that Bane and Reverie were fighting and the Sanses choose sides. It reminded Error of when him and Nightmare used to fight Ink and Dream. Paint seemed pissed. Error could tell because his eye changed to a dark red color.
"I LEAVE YOU GUYS HERE FOR TWO WEEKS AND I COME BACK TO THIS?!"
That seemed to be an effective way to stop the Sanses from fighting. Error took a mental note on this as it seems that Paint's methods work very well. To Error's and Radix's amusement, everyone stopped and began to apologize, including the more edgy ones. They did seem more reluctant though. Error was curious on what Paint had done in the past to have this effect on everyone. Even Radix seemed tense. It reminded him of when he had to freak out the Bad Sanses in Nightmares castle to make them shut up so he could talk. That was effective. Maybe this is just as effective. Swap seemed to have recovered the fastest.
"Sorry Paint. We got a little to carried away and caused a small war."
Error facepalmed while chuckling quietly. A fight is never an accident and this one seemed to be deliberate. It seems that Paint agreed with him as he just gave Swap a look.
"Uh huh. You all better not start the blame game. You all were fighting so you all have to take the blame. If I ever do find out the Sans that started this, then they will end up fighting Error."
"Trust me guys. You do not want to fight Error. I know this from experience."
Radix spoke up and Error silently cracked up. He did play puppeteer for a day with Radix. He was not happy when Error finally let him go. But to Error, it was totally worth the argument they had after.
"Speaking of Error, where is he?"
Error glanced warily at Reverie. While he didn't care about being touched anymore, he will never forget what Reverie did. It was a terrifying experience for him because of Dream.
"RigHT here."
Error still hates being the center of attention, but their shocked faces were worth it to him. They seemed surprised that he changed in less then a month. He knew Radix was surprised with the progress as well but Error had to adapt to random change when he was the destroyer so he was used to it.
"So Radix, did ya get anything out of Error about his past?"
Of course that question was from Grim. Radix looked at Error, who nodded back.
"It's a long story and Error is okay with you guys knowing. I do have to warn you all though, its sad and you may want to kill someone after this. Don't interrupt me."
That caused everyone's curiosity to spark and they all gathered around Radix while Error backed up and stood behind Paint. Error never liked to talk about his previous life but he disliked the thought of everyone bugging him even more. Radix started talking.
(The paragraph below is basically review from the previous chapters. If you don't want to reread it then you can skip it. You won't miss anything.)
"Error is not from this multiverse. In his multiverse, Error is known as the God of Destruction, also known as The Destroyer Of Worlds. He didn't want this power, but he was forced to take it because of his counterpart, Ink, who abused his power. Ink is the God of Creativity, also known as The Creator Of Worlds. Error had to keep the balance so his multiverse wouldn't implode. He was driven to insanity because of this and began to destroy AU's for fun. One day, he destroyed the original UnderSwap universe which pissed off a lot of Sanses, including Ink and took the Sans from his home. Error nicknamed him Blueberry, I don't know why but i'm just gonna roll with it. Anyway, Blueberry befriended Error and made him sane again. Being sane gave Error his emotions back, including guilt. Out of guilt, he gave Blueberry his humans soul so they could reset and he could go back home. Error did visit frequently, to Swap Papyrus's disgust but he grew to like Error over time. Error told me he wasn't sure what happened but it seemed that Ink told rumors and those rumors got to Papyrus, who kicked Error out and threatened to kill him if he ever showed his face in UnderSwap again. He left to not cause any problems. Error went back to destroying universes again but he hated it. His only motivation was that doing this would keep the multiverse stable. Error befriended Geno, a Sans that we are not familiar with and they grew a close friendship. Error thinks its because Geno is also a glitch in his universe and liked to have someone to relate. But ReaperTale Sans took interest in Geno and Error could no longer visit Geno without putting both of their lives in danger. Error also befriended the more sinister Sanses who we know as Grim, Scourge, Butcher, and Bane. Error knows them as Killer, Dust, Horror, and Nightmare. Cross is another bad Sans but he has no version in our multiverse. But I guess Ink took the fight to far and Error fell into the Void and landed here. When I found him, he was severely injured, some injuries being years old that didn't have enough time to heal. That's how bad Ink was. Our versions in his universe abused him and tried to kill him, that included the bad Sanses if Error or Nightmare got into a fight. That's why he is scared of being touched. Most physical contact he received from others ended in pain. That's Error's origin story, or at least what he told me."
(End of paragraph)
To Error, Radix showed no emotion. Edge wanted to break someone's neck, probably Fell's and Ink's. Swap wanted to judge Error's abusers very badly. Cosmo seemed disappointed that another version of himself would stoop so low. He wanted justice as well. Reaper wanted to reap their souls and send them to hell. Paint looked sad that another version of him would abuse his power. He wanted to put Ink in Error's POV to show Ink what he did to Error over the years. Reverie wanted to destroy those monsters hopes and dreams permanently. Bane wanted to kill everyone and show them their worst fears but he was also curious about Nightmare and how different they are. Butcher gripped his axe. Someone was going to lose some limbs if they show their face in this multiverse. Grim studied his knife and thought of different ways he could torture Error's abusers. Scourge wondered how much LV he could get from killing everyone who hurt Error. He would go on a mass murder spree if he ever managed to get to Error's multiverse. Over all everyone did not want Error to go back to his multiverse ever again.
Error's POV
Wow. I didn't think they would react like this. They want to kill the ones that hurt me. I am shocked. No one has really shown support for that before and it feels... good. Though talking about my past is making me wonder about my multiverse. I wonder what's going on now?
???
"UHHHHHH! WE NEED TO TRY HARDER. WE CAN ALMOST REACH HIM. THOSE DAMN BRATS ARE CONTROLLING HIS DREAMS AND NIGHTMARES."
"Were close bro. Just give it more time."
"WE DON'T HAVE MUCH MORE TIME LEFT. WE HAVE FIVE MONTHS BEFORE EVERYTHING GOES TO HELL."
"Then we will try harder. We can't keep fighting each other. I know you hate me but we need to have a small truce for this to work."
"FINE. BUT AFTER THIS I NEVER WANT TO BE THIS CLOSE TO YOU AGAIN."
"Feelings are mutual bro."
(AN: Thank you for over 1k reads and almost a hundred votes. Question. Do you guys want Error to be paired up with anyone? The same goes with the other characters. Let me know.)
