Chapter nineteen - Heated moments.

The next morning Bucky, Amelia and Evan set out pretty early. They didn't really want to have breakfast in the hotel since Amelia and Evan found out that they don't make pancakes on certain days- and today was one of those days.

So Evan got in the back seat of the car again, Amelia drove and Bucky sat next to her. It didn't take long for them to find a little cafe in a small shopping center. Evan noticed that there was a sign on the cafe window that read 'Free Wifi,' so without hesitation he grabbed his laptop and brought it with him. Amelia would've done the same- except she left her laptop back at her wrecked apartment. Her mind then trailed onto Alaska, and she wondered how she was doing. She felt small dose of sympathy for Alaska because of that she had been through. Her cat was family to her. Alaska was there when she had no one- but she couldn't have done anything to prevent HYDRA's men from attacking her apartment, she was lucky to have managed to grab Alaska and take her to Evans.

Amelia shakes her head, feeling pathetic for over reacting about her petite family member. She was fine in the hands of Evan's lovely neighbor. As they push the door open to the cafe, a ding of a bell can be heard, letting the owners and workers of the cafe know that they have customers. Amelia smiles as she smells the familiar smell of coffee, and Evan makes a humming noise, already excited for his orders.

"Alright then dude, whatcha want?" Evan asked Bucky, and Bucky stops looking at the posters on the wall and stares at him, confused. "...Well?"

"I'll, uh, have whatever you're having," Bucky replied, "Dude."

Evan smiled happily and nodded, turning towards the counter. Amelia smirked to herself, shaking her head at Evan. At least she had the common sense to know that Bucky doesn't even know what half the stuff on the menu are.

"Can I have two Espresso's please, and-" Evan turns to Amelia, and she mouths what drink she wanted to him. He then turned back around to face the man behind the counter, "A Caffè latte, please."

"Sure thing!" The man with the slightly grey mustache replied with his strong, American accent, "Anythin' else?"

"Yes!" Evan grinned enthusiastically, "You cook pancakes, right?"

"Sure do, just check the menu." The man chuckled, nodding towards the menu that hung on the wall.

"Great, so can we have three plates of pancakes then, with a bottle of syrup?"

"It's $2.50 for three pancakes each plate, or $3.00 for five pancakes."

"Just three each, please."

"Okay then sir, that would be $12.60." He smiled politely, and Evan smiled back and gave him a twenty dollar note. Evan received his change then they all sat by the window of the cafe. The joined chairs beneaththem were a comfortable, red leather with a table between it. Evan sat opposite Amelia and Bucky sat next to her as they waited calmly for their order. Evan exhaled with relief as he opened up his laptop and typed in his password before typing in the wifi password which was also on a piece of paper that was stuck on the wall with a piece of glue tack.

Then Evan started typing away on his laptop so fast that Amelia thought the keypad was going to set on fire.

She shook my head and ignored him, turning to face Bucky, "What's up?"

He raised his eyebrow and looked up, "The ceiling?"

"Don't be sarcastic with me, you little shit."

Bucky lets out a laugh, "I'll try not to."

"And you, what are you doing?" Amelia turns her head to look at Evan, who was still typing on his laptop, "Don't get doing anything illegal in public."

"I'm not," Evan reassures her, chuckling slightly. What a great friend she was! Basically saying that he could do anything illegal, but not in public. Amelia throws him a look. "Okay, it might be a little illegal."

"What are you doing?"

"I'm just trying to see if I can hack into HYDRA's data base so then we know where exactly it is. But it's hard to do that when I don't know anything about HYDRA. All I know is that they tried to take over the world, again. I mean, I don't know anyone who works there, or what their ID passes will be, or even a frickin' phone number. It was easier to hack into SHIELDS because I work there."

"Do you think it's wise to do that? I don't want to piss HYDRA off again, they could have some high security stuff and tracking devices for anyone who tries to hack into their system."

"Yeah, but I'm clever."

"Amelia has a point. I'll try and remember the location, it'll be okay." Bucky tries to convince him, but Evan shakes his head.

"No, I need to know where it is we're going for sure. Do you know how many places HYDRA own and are hiding around the world? They'res loads! We can't just think we're going to the right one."

"I'm pretty sure out of everyone here, Bucky will know what building they hide hostages in."

"They's loads of places they hide hostages."

"You're right, there are," Bucky starts, "But they want Steve for a reason, not just for an hostage. Steve is similar to me, If they don't get me back then they will use Steve to replace me." Bucky pauses, he couldn't help but to think that this was his fault. "I don't know for sure, but they could have took him to the same building I was in, where they froze me and upgraded me and such, because they'll probably do the same with Steve."

"What?" Evan frowns at the thought of one of his hero's going through that. Amelia, however, isn't really shocked at what Bucky said. It all seemed pretty logical to her, and they were going to get Steve back. What she couldn't understand is why everyone though Bucky was a bad person. When he was on the news, they acted like he was going to snap and kill everyone around him. Bucky is not a violent person. She didn't think the Winter Soldier was a violent person either. He killed because he was ordered to, but if he wasn't ordered to? Honestly, she thought the Winter Soldier would probably be pretty chill and quiet. Like, you wouldn't want to startle him or whatever, because yeah, scary ninja personification of death, but if you were just, like, sitting in a waiting room together? Not a randomly violent guy. No homicidal urges. He would probably want to be left the hell alone. And Bucky didn't want to kill her when they first met, he was actually a sweet guy. She couldn't understand why everyone thought he was some kind of monster, because he wasn't.

"Espresso's for the gentlemen," A younger woman cuts in, holding a tray of cups and places. She places the two cups of Espresso's on their table, along with a little cup of milk, a small spoon and a few bags of sugar, "And a Caffè latte for the lady." She smiles brightly, placing the cup in front of Amelia on the table. "And here's your pancakes." She starts again, placing three plates on our table that each held three fat pancakes on them. After that she placed a bottle of syrup on the table, "Enjoy your breakfast, sorry for the wait."

"Not a problem, beautiful." Evan smiled politely at her, and she blushed, smiling and walking away. Amelia gave him another look. "What this time?!"

"Nothing." Amelia shakes her head, letting a small chuckle escape her lips, "Put your laptop away."

"Fine, I wont try and get into HYDRA's system, I'll just go onto Tumblr."

Tumblr, Amelia thought, God, I miss that. She hadn't been on for a couple of days, she had been too busy.

The rest of the morning was spent with all of them chatting about random stuff. The whole day was quite boring. Bucky tried to remember the location of their destination but they were all sure they were lost at some point. Bucky probably got there in a different way compared to how Evan and Amelia were getting there, so they just drove in random places, looking for a huge, immaculate building with grey slabs and mirror-like walls on the outside, which is what Bucky described to Amelia and Evan what the building looked like. They asked a few people on their trip if they've seen a building like this. Most replied with no, when some replied with yes and showed them the directions, but overall it was a pretty boring day. At some point they even decided to plan eye spy.

Finally, at about six in the evening they gave up and found a small hotel to stay in for the night. The hotel wasn't as posh as the other previous one they stayed in, so it wasn't as much money. They all checked in at reception and got their hotel room key before saying thank you to the receptionist and walking further into the lobby.

"Right, so it's room 17." Amelia said, "First floor, I think."

"I'm starving," Evan stated, his stomach rumbling as they hadn't eaten since breakfast. Bucky and Amelia nodded slightly with agreement. Just before Evan could say anything else, a tall man cut him of with a smirk on his face.

"You people lost? Need help finding your room?"

"We're good, thanks." Amelia replied, not really wanting to talk to him. His smirked got wider and he stepped closer to the three.

"You sure? I haven't got a probably with helping out a pretty lass such as yourself."

That was all Bucky needed to hear to know that this man was up to no good. It didn't seem like he wanted to help, he just wanted to flirt with Amelia. Bucky clenched his first, staring daggers at the guy while Evan stood there awkwardly, listening to this mans cheesy chat up lines.

"Well, this pretty lass can take care of herself." Amelia stared at him, her facial expression blank and unmoved by his chat up lines. She didn't have a problem with him, she was used to childish men and their behavior around women.

"Do you believe in love at first sight?"

Amelia lets out a laugh, "I believe in hate at first sight."

"Okay fine, I'll admit it, I just wanted to talk to ya'." He chuckled, ignoring the two men by Amelia's side, "How long you staying here for?"

"Just the night."

"Well then, we better make tonight count-"

"She's not interested." Bucky spoke up, staring at the man in disbelief, "Now piss off."

Evan widened his eyes at Bucky, surprised he spoke up and swore at him. Where was his bag of popcorn when he needed it?

"Oh, and you're going to make me?" The tall guy took a step closer to him, challenging him. Bucky's jaw tighten as he stared coldly at this man, also taking a step closer to him. Bucky was slightly taller than him and the man noticed his harsh stare.

"If I have too."

"Right, I think that's enough, boys." Amelia stepped between then, putting her hands on each of their chests and pushing them away from each other. Granted, the man would have been a bit freaked out if Bucky wasn't wearing his leather jacket, because he would have noticed his bionic arm, warning him to back off, but it seemed that he warned him just by staring at him. Amelia didn't know that Bucky could pull such deadly faces at someone, and she kind of liked it.

"Fine," The man gulps, taking a step back, "Just for the pretty lady."

"Course." Evan muttered, folding his arms and rolling his eyes at how pathetic this guy was.

"I could have knocked you out with one blow, mate."

"Yeah, because that really makes me want to sleep with you." Amelia replied sarcastically, staring at the man with disbelief.

"I think you should leave." Bucky tells him, un-tensing his shoulders so they were more relaxed.

"Whatever." The man spat, walking off, cursing under his breath. Evan let out a shaky chuckle and shook his head.

"Piece of scum. Anyway, I'm sure I saw a Indian takeaway place down the road. Want me to go buy us all something?"

Amelia nodded, "That would be lovely, thanks."

"Alright then..." Evan trials off, looking over Amelia's shoulder to make sure that the man that was flirting with her didn't come back. "See you in about fifteen, to twenty minutes."

"See you in a bit." Amelia smiles at him, and Bucky just gave him a small nod and smile, picking up Evans bag to take to their room. Soon after Evan left they head up to their hotel room. It was quite nice. It had two separate beds in the one room and there was another room with a separate bed in. It had a small bathroom, and a small kitchen, but that was about it. It wasn't too posh, or too trampy, it was nice.

"Thanks for telling that guy to piss of by the way." Amelia says as she looks around the place, while Bucky shuts the door behind them. He puts Evans bag on the sofa and shrugs slightly.

"He shouldn't have talked to you like that."

Amelia plasters a huge smile and spins around on her feet to face him, "Were you jealous?"

"No!" Bucky explains, acting like it was the most ridiculous thing ever.

"You were!"

"I was just being kind, anyone would have done it. Why would I be jealous?"

"Well, we did kiss. Twice."

Bucky pauses, and looks down to his feet awkwardly for a second before facing her again, "We did... Are we finally going to talk about it?"

"What's there to talk about?"

Bucky pulls a 'what the hell' face at her, "Oh, I don't know? Maybe about the fact that we kissed?"

"Yeah, we kissed. End of discussion."

Bucky's face falls. Was he that bad? I mean, yes, he's a it out of practice, but come on! "If you didn't like it then-"

"No, I did like it."

"Then why are you avoiding the simple conversation of us kissing?"

"What the hell do you want me to say? We kissed, do you want me to write a poem about it? Tell you how your lips felt? Kiss you again?" Amelia offered, her sarcasm level high. But it was true. What was she supposed to say? She already admitted she liked it.

"Well, the last option doesn't sound that bad."

Amelia stared at him. He knew I was being sarcastic, right? Amelia exhales quietly, not sure on what to do.

It seemed that they both agreed on kissing at the same time, because they both stepped forward simultaneously and connected their lips together.

The kiss wasn't as slow and passionate as before. This time it was more heated and desperate, like they had been waiting to kiss each other for a long time. Bucky's hands found their way to her waist and Amelia's arms wrapped around his neck, pulling him closer. Bucky walked forward until Amelia buckled her legs and fell onto the sofa, and Bucky fell on top of her gently, being careful not to hurt her. Their kiss got more rough, and she wrapped her hands in his head, tugging on them slightly as she smirked against his lips.

His lips slowly left her lips and went to her jawline, softly kissing and trailing down until he reached her collar bone. He nibbled on her skin, trying not to leave a mark and then lifted his head to kiss Amelia's lips again.

He didn't know how he felt about Amelia. He thought she was amazing and beautiful and funny and cute, but then things like this happened and his mind would go all over the place.

A knock at the door interrupted their libidinous moment, causing Bucky to quickly jump off of her and Amelia to quickly sit up, fixing her hair. Bucky coughed awkwardly and glanced at Amelia before opening the door for Evan.

"Oh, was it open?" Evan asked, raising his eyebrow. He shrugged and walked in with a large brown bag in his hands, filled with hot food. Bucky shut the door behind him and Evan stared at Amelia and then at Bucky, sensing something was off. He squinted his eyes slightly, "Did I miss something?"

"No." Amelia said quickly. Evan gave her a look, knowing something happened, but ignoring it as Bucky stood forward and smiled at him.

"What did you get then?"

"You're gunna love this." Evan smirked happily at Bucky, wanting to know his reaction to a certain food he brought. Amelia breathed out the breath she didn't know she was holding and smiled, acting casual, then sat up of the sofa to see what Evan had brought.
