I'm SORRY I had to write it it's part of the story😭. It killed me having to write the bad thing in this chapter. You will see what I mean after shelby and Max k- I CAN'T TELL YOU I'm sorrrryyyyyy. Forgive meeee. It will be better later in the story.

Max's POV

I decided to skip the rest of the day at school cause I wanted to visit Shelby. I couldn't stop thinking about her. I wanted to take care of her if she's sick. At least that's why I think she isn't here. Ms. Shipper (He means Jess but he doesn't know her real name or nick name) said that Shelby isn't feeling well so I'm assuming that she's sick. I ran to her house as fast as I could so I wouldn't be caught out of school. Hey that's the life of a rebel. I stop at the door and get ready to knock on the door I suddenly start to have second thoughts. What if she doesn't want to see me? What if she thinks I'm an idiot? Ugh why do I even like this girl that much? I never liked a girl this much that it made me get really nervous. Maybe I love her? No that's crazy talk I never loved a girl. But maybe Shelby's different? Thats when out of nowhere a rock hits me in the head.

Max: "Ow! Who did that"

I hear a cute little giggle and look up.

Shelby's POV

I was out on my balcony thinking about my dream or vision. Why would Shubble be back now? It's been years since she was back in my head. I'm glad I'm back too Shelby. Now I can torture you like I did back then. W-who said that? Really Shelby? You really don't know who I am? Let me give you a hint. I'm you. What so now you're in my head and can hear what I'm thinking about? Yep and I'll be here for now on. No! You're not! I'll find a spell to get you out of my head! Oh well if you do then I'll be my own person and can torture you more. Which sounds better? Ugh fine you win. *giggles*. I look down at my front door to see Max standing there. He looked nervous. To be honest I thought it was cute to see him nervous. No! Shelby. You like Max in a friend way....right? Did that kiss mean something? I think it did. But does it men something to him? Ugh why do I have to like him? He probably doesn't like me anyways. He might even have a girlfriend. (Cheese Max's girlfriend isn't his girlfriend in this story) I smirked and grabbed a pebble from one of my plants and threw it at Max's head.

Max: "Ow! Who did that!"

I couldn't help but giggle at his face when I through the pebble at him. He heard me and looked up to see me on my balcony.

Max: "Wow Shelby I didn't know you were bad enough to through a pebble at my head"

Shelby: "I'm not bad I just did that cause you gave me the chance to. Why are you here anyways?"

Max: "Oh I just came by to see you? Why are you not at school anyways?"

Shelby: "Hold on let me let you in"

I pretended to not hear what he said cause I was worried that he would think I'm a liar. What if he leaves cause I lied? I opened the door to see him. I look into his eyes and he looks at mine. We gazed into eachothers eyes for a couple of seconds until I broke eye contact.

Shelby: "Oh uh sorry Come in Max"

Max: "Uh yeah Ok"

I sit on the couch and he sits next to me.

Max: "So I was wondering why were you not at school today?"

Shelby: "Oh it's because I was busy cleaning"

Max: " Really? Cause that's not what you said to mifwa Shipper over the phone"

Shelby: "Who?"

Max: "The girl in you're little friend group with cat ears and tail"

Shelby: "You mean Jess?"

Max: "Yeah.... I think"

Shelby: "They have names you know"

Max: "You are trying to change the subject aren't you?"

Shelby: "Wha n-no"

Max: "C'mon Shelby tell me the truth why you weren't at school"

Shelby: "I don't know if I could trust you yet"

I looked down at the floor playing with my hands when Max puts his hand under my chin and makes me look at him. I stared into his eyes and he stares into mine.

Max: "Will this make you tell me?"

I looked at him with a questioned look on my face until he kisses me on the lips. My eyes widened surprised that he kissed me then I kissed back. We broke the kiss after a couple of seconds and look back into eachothers eyes. I couldn't help but blush. I giggled then smiled at Max then looked down with the smile still on my face. I see him blushing and smiling through the corner of my eye. I look back at him.

Shelby: "Um... I was just thinking about my future and what I wanted to do"

I felt really bad about lying to him. Because he does like me back or maybe he just did that for friend pity he might not like me after all. Come on Shelby he will just break you're heart and move on. He won't I-i think. I trust him but I'm scared of putting him in danger because of you! I won't blame you I can be evil but still it would be a shame if something were to happen to him. Don't hurt him! You just need to torture me not him or anybody else but me! But whats the point if I don't hurt anybody then I'm basically not torturing you.

Max: "Hey Shelby are you ok? You have been staring at the floor for a couple of minutes"

Shelby: "Huh? Oh yeah I'm fine just still thinking"

Max: "Oh you know you can tell me anything right?"

Shelby: "Yeah. Hey Max we are friends right?"

Max: "Yeah...we're....friends"

Max's POV

My heart sank and got crushed into millions. I can't believe she called us "friends".

Max: "Listen Shelby I'm just gonna go home. See ya later"

Shelby: "W-wait Max"

She grabs my hand but I let go. I walk out the door without looking back.

I guess I don't even have to make the choice anymore......because Shelby did it for me.

Shelby's POV

I try and catch up to him but he slams the door in my face. I put my back against the wall and slide down with tears coming out of my eyes. I had to protect him no matter how much it hurt. I'm sorry Max please forgive me. You finally did it. You tortured yourself. Are you happy? beacause I am *laughs*. S-shut up! Leave me alone.
