3. One Punch

After they left the school grounds they got in Dakota's car, and since neither of them were feeling the need to go back to school, they thought why not take a ride to the training gym.

The stench of pig skin, hot sweat, blood and pain hit them at full force upon entry to the gym. Rebel walked in next to him and breathed it all in. This place was like a second home to her. Rebel was more in her element here than she was anywhere else. She loved the image that being in a gym brought to her mind. It made her feel alive.

Dakota swore that Rebel could happily live in the gym and not have any issue with it. "Come on Dake, let's go punch some pig skin." She says, walking away from him to the girl's locker room. A smile crept its way to his lips as he watched Rebel walk away. He dismissed his smile before one of the guys caught him staring. Dakota turned from her and walked off to change out of his regular clothes. "So, you got eyes for Bell, huh?" An older voice asked, he turned back around to see that the owner of the voice was Michel, the gyms owner.

"What are you talking about?" he shrugs.

"Don't play coy with me, Dakota. I saw you checking her out while she walked away from ya." He said pointing a finger his way. Dakota arched his eyebrow at him. "I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about Michel."

"You can lie to me, but not yourself, son."

He shrugged again. "Whatever Michel I'm gonna change." He walked away from him and the man surprisingly stayed quiet as he left.

Dakota exited the men's locker room with his gym shorts, a loose vest that hung off his sides and his black boxing gloves swung over his shoulder. He didn't feel like wearing a vest, but it wouldn't kill him, so he threw one on. He sat on a bench, beat the ring so that he could tie on his gloves then head over to start his work out a little before Rebel rejoined him. A regular helped him with his other glove and he thanked him as he bumped them together.

He took on these punching bag for about fifteen minutes until he was warmed up just enough. He walked over to the wrestling ring and spotted Rebel just finishing up a match Donny Sid-she gave him one last hit to the gut and had him surging backwards. He chuckled at Donny for losing a fight with Rebel since he hadn't won a fight with her ever... but then again, you can't really place Rebel in a category with regular female fighters. She was one of the best in town, and she never gave up that easy.

Dakota cheered for her, as she stood up straight, after Donny hit the mat. She gave him her tongue and he shook his head at her childish diss and entered the ring just as Ronny was helping his twin to get on his feet. "Good luck, man." Ronny told him when he passed by. Dakota smiled back and patted the semiconscious Donny on his back, "I'm sure I'll did better than him, Ronny."

The twin tilts his chin up at him and chuckles lightly as Donny grumbled at his side.

"So, Dakota you wanna fight me, huh?" Rebel put her fist up to him.

"Aha, my mother always told me to respect a woman, are you woman-like Bells?" he asked smirking at her. She narrowed her eyes. "Very funny Dakota, now are you gonna fight me or just stand there and get me mad?"

"Awww, really? I didn't know I was making you mad Bell. Accept my apology?" he asked with a gloved hand out, his sarcastic remark not going over her head so easily. Dakota watched as her eyes grew darker and her face serious.

"Oh, you think I'm that easy, bro?"

"I ain't say you weren't, bro."

She doesn't answer. Instead she turns her back on him so she could ask Michel to pull off her gloves, leaving only the bagged bandages wrapped around her hand. Dakota did the same after he saw Ronny coming back to the ring. Rebel didn't move for a minute too long, her stance frozen where she stood nearly halfway off the middle of the ring.

"Bell...?" Dakota came up behind her and touched his hand to her shoulder and no sooner did he do that, was he being pulled forward and thrown down hard onto his back. "Motherpucker." he grumbled. "Bitch." he swore feeling the reverberations from the surface against his back.

"Sorry asshole, and did you really think I was actually backing down? How dumb are you?" She asked. She bent down beside her best friend. "Never think your opponent is objecting to fight when the fight hasn't even started yet." She hinted smirking wickedly at him. He groaned at the pain in my back and rolled to his side. She played him.

"Ugh, what the hell? Cheap move." he laid on the ground looking up at her while she continued smirk. He would wipe it off her face.

"I suppose that's how you plan on winning fights now, huh?" he rolled to his side and kicked his legs up as he found his footing once more and faced her.

"Oh please, I can take you down anytime, Rue." Rebel glared at him with full confidence in her words, and he didn't doubt her either. He wondered if she did actually have what it took-wait what was he thinking? This girl had taken out guys that were bigger than him... maybe he was overreacting a little, but she had fought with bigger guys before.

"Alright then, let's go." he rose his gloves up as he traded between his right foot and hid left foot. She did the same, not yet moving to attack him. Dakota hummed then took two steps back and started to analyze the situation so he could try and figure out what Rebel's moves would be. He squeezed highs eyes for a second as he breathed in, suddenly he let it out as he lost sight of Rebel.

"Wait, how...?" suddenly he felt his legs being swept from underneath him. She was behind him. "Oh wow, don't tell me you've suddenly fallen for me, Dake," she smiled, cheeky and proud, standing over him for what would be the second time in the past three minutes. She giggled. Thinking quickly I rolled backwards, then charged forward, just as fast, and knocked her off balance.

She laughed as she joined him on the mat. "Well you're obviously a quick one. I'm just gonna have to wear you down!" he wrapped his legs around her rib cage and grappled her arms down. She struggled but to no avail. The leg lock around her abdomen kept her immobile.
