10. Ringing Silence
Rebel felt trapped sitting in an interrogation room on this cold metal chair, in a bland colored room that looked like it had been picked by a colorblind person. The one way mirror a taunting facade, she scolded at how they left her waiting to be questioned about what happened earlier that afternoon.
She shook her head, all of this bull wouldn't have been happening if that Mindy hadn't pushed her over the edge of her patience and tried to fight with her... urgh. She even gave her multiple chances to leave her alone. She was so close to walking away. Rebel was so fucking aggravated that, that no good brat got the cops on her... this placed it was where black people feared the most. Mindy was the one that started everything, she shouldn't be here, it wasn't her fault that all Mindy had was a loud bark and couldn't hold her own in a fight.
The door opened but Rebel didn't look up, she rather just wait for the questions that she knew they'd ask and than look Randy or his partner in the eye and tell them the truth.
Mindy had crossed a line... and she will pay, come hell or high water, she will.

Ryder's leg shook impatiently as he waited for any new news about what they were asking his baby sister about that Mindy girl, and hoping to God that she was answering them. He knew Rebel, he knew that she was a hard stone to crack sometimes, especially when she was upset. Oh God he hopes that she was cooperating.
He heard as the door next to him opened and looked up to see his Officer Isles coming out. Ryder flew up from his seat before the officer even neared him. "Randy, what happened? Did she talk? Was it her fault—."
"Ryder. Calm down," he said holding up his hands. "And no, she hadn't said a thing yet."
"Why hasn't she? Is she guilty?"
He chuckled. "Again Ryder, chill out," he placed a calming hand of his friend's shoulder, "she's not guilty of anything. She's just morally pissed off at me for bringing her in and annoyed that Mindy got us to bring her in for questioning."
Ryder relaxed more at his words. "So, she really hasn't spoken yet?"
"No, she really hasn't said a thing yet. I don't know how they'll make her talk, but I'm not holding my breath on her confessing anything to me. Except for Mindy, I the number two on her list if people she wouldn't open up to, so until a miracle happens, we're not getting a thing out of her."
"Ryder!" Dakota called, as he through the doors of the police station waiting room. "Officer, where is she?" He asked, joining them. Dakota's face looked like he had just been in a race against the wind, by the way he rushed inside.
"She's in an interrogation room." Randy answered. He was obviously in shock of Dakota's entrance. Officer Isles pointed a a thumb at Dakota then looked at Ryder. "You called him?"
Dakota glared at him, then Ryder nodded his head at him "Sorry, he was worried."
"I need to speak with her." He tried to bypass the officer, but he stepped infront of him. "Hey you can't just go back there." Officer Isles warned, a hand at Dakota's chest.
"If you don't move Randy, you'll lose that hand." He threatened.
Officer Isles chuckled, sucking his teeth in response. "And if you do, then you'll go to jail for assaulting a police officer." He shot back.
Dakota exhaled heavy through his nose. Officer Isles spared a glimpse at Ryder, and Ryder shrugged at him, because as much as Dakota was being forceful he was also not all that wrong for being worried about his best friend. "I think you should let him go, Randy. He might get her to talk." Ryder advised, resting a restrictive hand on Dakota's shoulder. Officer Isles sighed and looked back to Dakota. "Look, I shouldn't do this, but only because we wanna know what happened today. Get her to talk about it."
Dakota said nothing, but nodded and followed after the officer as he left Ryder with his youngest sister.
