Luka is part of the original inhabitants of the land of Earth, the only survivors in the nuclear blast that apparently destructed the habitable place to wasteland over ninety years ago. 

She lives by strict morals, always taught by her Grounder clan to stick together, to never stay too far away from her tribe. 

But when has she ever listened. 

Ruled by her dominant, uncontrollable mind, Luka sets off in search for an object that fell from the sky once hunting in uneasy terrain outside of her clans sight. Straying too close for comfort for the inhabitants of the object from space, Luka is captured by a leader with little sense of the world around him, Bellamy Blake. 

Without knowing in the beginning, the Sky People need her help in order to survive in an unknown landscape, and after a few close encounters, Luka is the only person that Bellamy can trust with his life. But when the Grounders discover that Luka is missing, they would do anything to get her back, even if that means eliminating the fallen that set foot on their home soil in the first place. 

The Sky People must give Luka back to her clan in order to avoid a fatal war against the earthborn and their own, but is Bellamy willing to give her up?

Will Luka follow her heart into forbidden terrain, or follow her mind as she always had and leave the Sky People to die?
