OVER THE BORDERLINE
Eagerness is beating time
Snapping wild inside my throat.
Voices of burning scarecrows
Before the forthcoming storm.
The fields that once were mine
Are mourning for their last flock.
My wrath is what overflows
From this corral made of thorns.
Doubts have been scratching my soul,
Conspiring to build a wall.
A sky full of glowing coals.
This time, Fate wants me to fall.
The greatest pages of the book
Are turning in a mound of rust.
My eyes are unwilling to look
As Decadence sprinkles its dust.
The bleeding stone is giving birth.
Fresh ink is oozing from the loss.
My veins tremble. I know the worth
Of the bounds I'm going to cross.
Numbness is distorting space
Skulking wise throughout my bones
Breathless echoes cloaked by smoke
Knelt down at the judgement throne.
The myths I was to embrace
Are crumbling between the flames.
In the mid-death hour stroke,
Gates are open and chains are gone.
Rivers have been changing course
Since the line started to glow
A crown relinquished by force.
This time, Faith wants me to flow.
