MY LOST DECADE
Towers of gold, twins of stone,
Watching the world from above
When a century was gone
And words were penned with love.
Swords held high, footprints of fire
Filling manuscripts with cries
When the prediction was dire
And guns were thought to be right.
Wishes of life, frames of time
Have been running for the deep
Across illusions and lies.
Did I get lost in between?
I tried to sleep, I dared to dream
Of gentle tears and outspread wings
Reluctant to shiver with fear
As the mountains' peaks were still near.
I tried to jump, I dared to crack
The light hidden into my dark.
I've been pleading for it to fade
Through the days of my lost decade.
Houses of gold, gone unsold
Bubbling strong before the burst
When a century had turned
And feelings were shared to hurt.
People to seek, wires of needs
Money slipping in few clicks
When we went on our knees.
Shading ghosts behind a screen.
Trials of life, wastes of time
Have undergone in a leap
Of faith and unquiet smiles.
Did we get lost in between?
