JUST BECAUSE WE'RE NOT POPULAR...

just because we're not famous or popular in the mdc doesn't give you the right of passage to treat us wrong or making us feel inferior to you.

i'm not talking about those popular designers out there because honestly, i never encountered a popular designer treating another (not-so famous) designer feel inferior to them. which is so good of them! keep up the good work! i do applaud you guys! :)

but what i'm pointing at are those designers that suck up to them so much. if you remember xeco from the previous chapter, he/she's one of those suck ups btw.

JUST WAIT. i'm not saying all suck ups are bad ok? i'm just saying that they're sucking up for the wrong reasons and are putting other designers down.

for example, there are  A LOT of not-so famous designers who are so good in graphic making!! these suck ups are just too biased to see how good the graphic is. just because they're not popular, DOES NOT MEAN their graphics are bad. DO NOT BE BIASED! Be a critical and equal judge in these things.

here lemme give you a situation that i normally see. (names and some details have been changed)

Cast:

me as the not-so famous designer

stardust as a famous designer

idiot as the stupid suck up and know-it-all (but really does not know all) (usually a beginner or newbie) that everyone dislikes (except of course his/herself because this person's TOO SELF CENTERED OK BYE)

Scene 1

the sun starts to shine outside my window - the golden yellow color that's all too familiar. it was not because i just woke up from my very deep slumber to start a new day, no. it was because I STAYED UP ALL NIGHT MAKING GRAPHICS FOR REQUESTERS SO THAT I CAN JUST CATCH UP IN MY QUEUE ... and the sound of birds chirping sounded so peaceful.

i minimized my editing program to take a little break from my graphic making and start to open the multimedia designs club forum.

Scene 2

me: *goes into a discussion wherein to find critiques or whatnot* *posts an okay graphic there* hey guys! this is a dark cover i made for a requester a while ago and i was wondering what i can do to make it better? or maybe suggestions on how i can improve. i would love some critiques!

idiot: ummmmmmmm lyk i dont really like the color??? i mean its TOO DARK??? Like i suggest use brighter colors/?? tbh i dont really like it and its not my style. everything's just so messy for me. you should just lyk change everything or repeat

me: but how can i make it with "brighter colors" if the cover's supposed to be dark?

idiot: uhh idk with u? you're the designer. but i think u should change it

(dude just seriously? -______-)

stardust: i actually do like the cover. it gives off the right amount of dark and the elements are at ease (etc etc) you should just work on a bit with your (etc etc) but overall, its really a good job! no need for major reconstruction. just tweak up a bit with your font choice (etc etc)

idiot: um actually i do agree with stardust up there! i do feel like you did a great job with the cover. the color's are good and that yeah, stardust covered everything i wanted to say.

DO U FEEL ME, GUYS????????????? I'VE SEEN SO MUCH SUCKING UP IN MY LIFE BUT DUDE... THIS IS JUST... IDK...

AND I'M NOT JOKING ABOUT THAT SCENARIO!!!!! I'VE SEEN IT SO MUCH I JUST WANT TO... -___-

THE FACT THAT THEY CHANGE THEIR OPINIONS...... you know what, i'll just shut up because if i talk about this more i'll just explode.

Scene 3

idiot: *posts a very meeehhh graphic since beginner* hey so i was wondering what u guys think of my teen fic/romance/humor cover for a request i made? i would really like some suggestions and critiques.

me: this is actually okay especially since you're a beginner. but i'd just like to say that for teen fic covers that's also romance and humor, its best if you play around with brighter colors? i mean don't stick with gray or dark shades since it makes the cover look really grim and not-so teen fiction anymore. i also suggest you work on your font choice, placements, (etc etc)

idiot: um thanks but i think i'll just stick to what i already have

(.......... IF YOU'RE GOING TO STICK WITH WHAT U ALREADY HAVE WHY WOULD U ASK FOR FRICKIN SUGGESTIONS AND CRITIQUES???)

stardust: i agree with me up there. its best if you choose brighter colors since the book is about romance and humor. *proceeds with critique* *agrees with me*

Do you feel my pain, people? Can you just feel it??????????????????????????????? I don't say anything when this happens to me because well, it'll just start fights. But I really hope suck ups can learn in the near future to always not be biased just because a popular designer says this, you automatically go to their side and leave the not-so popular one in the dust who also had the same opinion. HAVE YOUR OWN INDIVIDUAL MIND, PEOPLE!!! USE THAT BRAIN OF YERZ.

I'm not insulting anyone with this, ok? It just happens TOO MANY TIMES. And I hope, if you're one of those suck-ups and you're reading this, i don't hate you alright? I just want you to be fair to everyone so that we can all get along as one community. Imagine if this happened to you. What would you feel?

anyway, i'll stop now or else i'll just... cry.
