Things seemed to be going quite well.

Less than an hour on land and Sabine had herself a job.

Ezra was explaining the basics of it all, when Mira walked over.

"Who's the new girl?" She asked, smiling slightly at Sabine.

"This is Sabine Wren." Ezra explained, "I've just hired her."

Mira stuck her hand out "Well nice to meet you Sabine. I'm Mira."

Sabine smiled and shook her hand, a little less awkwardly.

Another guy walked into the shop. He was tall, paler, and also had dark black hair.

He walked up behind Mira and put his arms around her.

Mira smiled and turned around.

"Hi Zak." She said, giggling and hugged him.

Zak smiled and hugged Mira back.

Sabine was curious by this odd form of human relation. Was this how they showed affection? Holy crab cakes, romance seemed complicated on land.

But she had just found that hot guy, who was technically now her co worker, so things couldn't be all bad.

Right?

Hahahah.

Wrong.

Just as soon as things started to seem normal, Sabine began to wait tables.

As she walked across the floor of The Phantom cafe, Mira accidentally bumped into her-spilling the water she was carrying all over her.

Sabine grumbled, not realizing what would happen if she was exposed to water.

She turned, and walked back into the cooler to get another drink.

Andddddd that's when her tail reappeared.

Okay maybe land life wasn't going to be so easy.

She looked around, and while no one was there, hot guy-er Ezra-could come back at any moment.

Things were off to an interesting start.
