"Mooooom! I don't wanna go to school!" I complained

"Crystal you have to. Put on your uniform and come down for breakfast in the dining hall. The maids are waiting with your pre-packed bags."

I groaned and got up as mom left. Maids swarmed to me and combed my long pink hair while others washed my face with warm towels. The whole time I was puffing my cheeks in annoyance. It had been 11 years since the first time I set foot in the castle and was treated as the princess. It's nice and all, I just still can't get used to everything done for me. The maids left and I took off my nightgown and changed into the uniform. I looked into the mirror. I admit, the pink, grey, and white checkered sweater was really soft and comfy. A fancy letter was imprinted on it and made it look sophisticated. It also came with black dress shoes, black socks that go up to my thighs, and short dark green tights. The shorts were, well, short! They barely covered my butt! Thank heavens the sweater was big on my small form and almost reached my high socks. I walked out of my room then took the black backpack from the waiting maid and got to the dining hall.

"Good morning Crystal, how did you sleep last night?" Dad asked me.

"Good." I mutter, putting my head in my arms on the table.

"Is something wrong sweetie?" Mom asked.

"Nah. Just upset I'm goin' to school." I muttered again.

Mom and Dad just laughed.

"You know it's for your own good." Dad retorted.

"Yeah but I'll be dragged into pink tea parties with glitter and girly girls." I complain.

"Oh my little tom bot, you'll be fine! I heard there are sport teams!" Mom shouted.

My head shot up. "SPORTS?!" I yelled.

The room filled with laughter, even from the maids. (This kingdom is hella chill so it's not like the maids are emotionless marionettes!) I realized what I did and blushed brightly. Ever since I learned to run, I've played in all the sports I could. I was extremely good at every single one, even football-despite my small frame. I quickly ate my hot cakes and ran to the carriage with my parents trailing from behind. As I opened the castle door, my long pink hair and big uniform sweater swayed violently in the wind. As my last bag was placed into the back, I turned around to hug my adoptive parents. They hugged back and we enjoyed each other's embrace for a while. As we let go, we exchanged words.

"Be careful okay?"

"I will."

"Don't hurt yourself with your magic!"

"Okay."

I sat on the cushioned seat, and looked to my parents. I waved.

"Bye mom! Bye dad! I love you!"

"We love you too sweetie!"

"Go make us proud Crystal!"

The carriage began to roll away, pulled by the horses.

"I will!"

I continued to wave until I didn't see them. I ate some cookies while staring outside. Soon I pulled the curtains and layer down to sleep.

Tomorrow was the start of a new way of life.
