*Jaelyn*
It's my first day of high school. I am kind of nervous. I miss my bestie.
I got dressed in my everyday attire that I been wearing since 7th grade. I put some eyeliner on.
"Jaelyn, hurry up. You don't want to be late!" JJ said.
I grabbed my school bag and a crossbody bag. "I'm coming," I said. I grabbed some toast and add utter to it.
JJ grabbed his keys, we went into his car. He drove me to school.
"Nervous?" he asked.
"Very. It's my first day of high school. Also first cheer practice," I said, biting my nails.
JJ took my hand away from my mouth. "Stop biting your nails," he said.
"Sorry! It's a habit," I said.
"It's okay. Will Bryson Dale be there?" he asked.
"Of course. Why you ask?" I asked
"I remember when you came crying to me when he picked on you," he said.
"Yeah. He went from chubby bully kid to a tall and skinny guy. The only reason he was picking on me because he liked me in elementary school before he moved away then moved back in the 7th grade," I said.
"Have you two started dating or anything?" JJ asked.
"No. I won't date anyone until you approve of me dating anyone," I lied.
Bryson and I have been secretly dating since I got back from camp.
"If you really like Bryson, you have my approval to date him. On one condition, you two better not get pregnant," he said.
"Deal. Plus I'm saving myself until I am ready to that commitment. If you want you can have a one on one conversation with him before we date," I said.
"Sounds good. Well, here you go. Have fun and good luck," he said.
"I'll try," I said, getting out of the car, "Pick me up after practice?"
"Yup," JJ said.
I shut the door and went inside. Bryson was waiting for me.
"Hey, beautiful," Bryson said, hugging me.
"Hey, babe. Freshmen year of school," I said.
"I know. It'll fly fast. Also, I made the Cross Country Team," he said.
"That's awesome. I'm so proud of you," I said
"Now I have my cheerleader and your jock," he said.
I smiled, "Which reminds me, I have to get my uniform after practice."
"I can't wait to see it," he said.
We headed to the gym for the Freshmen class meeting.
We walked over to our friends; Jessica, Levi, and Bailey.
We sat next to them.
"How was cheer camp?" Jessica said.
"It was fun. Cheering a bit, learning the ropes of cheerleading. Also, I made some friends," I said.
"Awesome. Are you excited for the first football game of the season?" Levi asked.
"Yup. But don't forget I'm only on the JV Cheer squad," I said.
"No matter what, she'll make a good cheerleader," Bryson said, kissing my cheek.
I smiled as he kissed my cheek.
Noon
Its noon and lunch hour. Since Freshmen couldn't leave the school for lunch, Bryson and myself ate at the school garden yard.
"How were your classes?" Bryson asked.
"It was decent. Someone called me a basketcase cheerleader," I said.
"I heard. Levi told me who it was," Bryson said.
"I told him 'You don't know me'. Also so he talked about Brie and Nicole," I said.
"He knows that your sisters are WWE Divas," he said.
I took a bite of my sandwich. "Bryson, JJ asked about you," I said.
"Oh really? Does he know we are dating?" he asked.
"He asked me but I told him no. I told him if I want to start dating you, you'll a one on one conversation with him," I said.
Bryson nodded. "Mind if I come over later today and we can talk to him," he asked.
"Let me call my mom and I can ask her if you can," I said. I called my mom but it went straight to voicemail. "Hey, it's Kathy Colace. Leave a message," her voicemail said.
"Hey Mom, it's me. After school, can Bryson come over? If he can just let me know. Okay bye," I said, hanging up.
"Voicemail?" he asked. I nodded. "Hopefully she gets it soon," I said smiling.
The bell rang. "Welp, we better get to class. What you class you have next?" he asked. "Algebra. What about you?" I asked.
"I have Shop class," he said. "Okay. I'll see you for Choir," I said smiling. Bryson kissed my cheek then I headed to my Algebra class since I am an honor student.
End of the Day
I just got out of cheerleading practice and I got my uniforms. I checked my phone. My mom texted me. "He can come over and I'm outside waiting for you two," my mom texted.
I headed outside and I saw my mom's car. "Where's Bryson?" she asked.
I got in the car. "He's at Cross Country practice. He'll come right after practice," I said.
"Okay, how was your first day of high school and cheer practice?" she asked as she drove home.
"It was pretty good. Cheer practice was good. I got my cheerleading uniforms," I said.
"That's good. Make any new friends?" she asked.
"Not really. Freshmen don't exist unless you are popular," I said.
"Oh okay. Girls in cheer practice, are they nice?" she asked.
"Most of them are but three varsity cheerleaders are like wannabe Plastics from Mean Girls," I said.
"Are they named Regina, Gretchen, and Karen?" she laughed.
"No, Mom. Their names are Rachel, Gracie, and Erin. They are seniors," I said.
"Oh okay. They do sound like mean girls," she said.
"Have you heard from Dad at all?" I asked.
"I did but he's not going to make it to the first game of the year to see you cheer," she said.
I sighed. "Missing out on his youngest daughter firsts in high school," I said.
"Your dad is gonna do whatever he wants to do, Don't expect anything," she said.
Hour later
Bryson is officially over to talk to my brother JJ about me and him. I kept my eye on them. "Jaelyn, can you help with dinner?" my mom asked.
I nodded. "Don't worry about JJ and Bryson. As long it's not your father talking to him," Mom said.
I nodded.
*Bryson*
JJ and I were sitting outside. We were talking about Jaelyn. "So you want to date Jaelyn?" JJ asked.
"Yes. I know I use to be mean to her in kindergarten but I actually like her. Then I moved back to town and noticed how grown up. I been crushing on her since 7th grade and I promise I won't do anything to hurt her," I said.
JJ nodded. "Do you promise not to get her pregnant until she's ready for that commitment?" he asked.
"I promise. I promise to never hurt her or anything. You have my word," I said to him.
"Okay. Then you have my permission to date Jaelyn. However, if you break these promises, I'll punch you in the face. Are we clear?" JJ asked.
"Crystal clear," I said.
"Okay then you have my permission to date Jaelyn," he said, holding his hand out.
I shook his hand.
"Guys, dinner's ready," Jaelyn said as she opens the door.
*Jaelyn*
Bryson and JJ came inside. "Jaelyn, Bryson has my permission to date you," JJ said to me.
I smiled softly. "Thanks, JJ," I said to him.
"Let's start eating. Jaelyn and Bryson can sit next to each other," my mom said.
"I better get going. Lo is waiting for me for taking her out," JJ said.
"Okay. Tell Lola we said hello," I said
"I will," JJ said as he left.
"Okay since you two are dating now. We need to go over rules," my mom said.
"Okay. What are the rules?" I asked.
"Rule one: Bryson and you are not allowed upstairs. 2; You will not sneak him in in the middle of the night. 3; If you two are going out on a date or hang out, the curfew will be at 10pm on the dot. 4. no sex is allowed in my house. 5; if you want to study for homework, you do it in the kitchen or living room. 6: If you break any of these rules, you'll be grounded for two weeks. Understand?" my mom asked
"Yes Mom," I said.
"Bryson, if I find out that Jaelyn and you broke these rules, you won't be allowed in my house for a month," she said.
"Yes, Ms Colace," Bryson said.
"And she means it, Bryson," I said.
