Ch. 35
Jaelyn
Daniel and I are still walking around the park. We stay far away from the gator area, because they are out at night.
"Jaelyn, how tall are you?" he asked. "I'm 5'3. Very short," I said, smiling. "I'm 6'4" and very tall," he said.
"For some reason I am always attracted to tall guys. Fergal's 5'11, Bryson's 6'2, you and Marcel are both 6'4," I said.
"I'm attracted to short girls," he said. "Why?" I asked. "Because I can pick you up and I can reach things that you wouldn't be able to reach," he said.
"Well, that's good. How tall was your ex-wife?" I asked. "Well, she's actually 5'5," I said. "Ohh. Was your ex-wife your first girlfriend?" I asked.
"First girlfriend, first kiss, my first everything but she wasn't the first person I had sex with as I already told you," he said.
"Yeah, I know," I said. "Yeah, what about you? Did you have childhood trauma?" he asked.
"I grew up watching my parents fighting, arguing and my dad's addiction ruined their marriage. My sisters and my brother are always waking up to arguments. I was always worried about having that relationship like my parents, of which I made a promise to myself that I won't make the same mistake my parents did in their marriage," I said.
"Oh wow. I didn't know that about your parents," he said. "Yeah, plus they were still technically kids when they got pregnant with my sisters, Brie and Nicole," I said.
"How old were they when they had you?" he asked. "My brother JJ is a few years older than me. My parents were in their mid to late twenties when Cassidy and I were born. However, they placed Cassidy for adoption and kept me," I said.
"Cassidy told me. Why didn't they place you for adoption with Cassidy?" he asked. "They decided to keep me and give Cassidy to a good family that can raise her. That's why I felt like someone was missing in my life and it was my own twin sister," I said.
"Well, you found your twin and you two have a great twin sister relationship," he said. I nodded. "She found me and I'm glad she did," I said.
"How old were you when you got pregnant with your daughter?" he asked. "I was sixteen when I got pregnant with Bridgette," I said.
"Is that the age you lost your virginity?" he asked. "Yeah, it was homecoming. I told Bryson, Bridgette's dad, that I was ready. He was too because we wanted to lose our virginities. Then that's how Bridgette happened," I said.
"Did you use protection?" he asked. "We did but it broke," I said. "That happens," he said. "How did you and your ex-wife get pregnant?" I asked.
"Hannah and I had sex on prom night. She was a junior and I was a sophomore. That's how I was able to go to prom. We decided to have sex on prom," he said.
"Did you guys have protection?" I asked. "No, we did the pull out method, which was stupid of me. Even though my grandparents warned me about that. That's how they made my mother and that's how my mother got pregnant with me," he said.
"Wow. Apples really don't fall far from the tree," I said. "Yeah," he said. "So what about your father? Is he around?" I asked.
"My birth father got my mother pregnant. According to my birth mother, my father denied that I was his son. My mother raised me alone until you know," he said.
I nodded. "Would you ever want to meet your father?" I asked. "I actually met my father back in 2010. While I was in rehab from my drug addiction. I asked him why he left my mother and I never heard from him," he said.
"What did he say?" I asked. "He told me that my mother didn't want him around me. He actually wanted to see me but my mother didn't want it because she told him that I wasn't his son. So my father and I took a paternity test," he said.
"What were the results?" I asked. "That he was 99.9 percent my father. I was relieved that I got answers that he was legit my father," he said.
"That's good. Are you still in contact with him after the results?" I asked. "Here and there. He still contacts me to check on me and my kids," he said.
"That's good. Has he met his grandchildren?" I asked. "Yes, he has. He loves being a grandfather. At least my kids got to meet their paternal grandfather," he said.
"That's good. What's it like to raise a seventeen-year-old son at 34?" I asked. "I actually don't like it. It's letting me know that he's not a little boy anymore. He's growing up to be a kind young man. At least he didn't get his first girlfriend pregnant like I did. He's more focused on himself, sports and he's gonna be a senior in high school this fall. I can't wait until he graduates high school next spring then goes and plays at the University of his choice. Now, I'm gonna be more worried about my daughter when she gets to high school," he said.
"Now, you're making me worry about Bridgette turning a teenager, her liking boys and worry about her getting pregnant at my age," I said.
"Let's stop talking about that," he said. "Yeah, let's move on. So what made you want to pursue a wrestling career?" I asked.
"I grew up watching wrestling since I was two years old," he said. "Who were your favorite wrestlers growing up?" I asked.
"I was a huge fan of Kerry Von Erich, Ultimate Warrior and Shawn Michaels. Those three inspired me to be a wrestler. When I watched Kerry Von Erich defeat Mr. Perfect to be Intercontinental Champion at Summer Slam 1990, that's when I knew I was gonna be a wrestler," he said.
"I work with a lot of wrestlers, and they told me that they were inspired by Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair, Eddie Guerrero, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Undertaker. I never met anyone that was inspired by Kerry Von Erich and The Ultimate Warrior," I said.
"I always liked the ones that had a lot of energy and went all wild, and were totally different from any wrestlers," he said.
"That's good. I can't wait to see you do some Kerry Von Erich moves," I said. "Who inspired you to be a wrestler?" he asked.
"Well, besides my sisters, I was inspired by Lita and Layla. Lita was a badass and didn't care what people thought of her and Layla, she inspired me that no matter her height or size you can do anything," I said.
"Were your sisters supportive of you wanting to live that dream?" he asked. I shook my head. "They worried about me stealing their spotlight, that was mostly Nicole. Plus, wrestling helped me financially with me being a single teen mother and making sure that I gave Bridgette a life better than what I had. I became a wrestler for my daughter," I said.
"That's good," he said. I nodded. We stopped for a minute. Daniel held his hand out. "What are you doing?" I asked.
"Dance with me," he said. I grabbed his hand. "It's dark outside," I said. "I know but no one's around," he said.
"There's no music beside frogs croaking," I said. "I know and the lights are dim," he said. We got close as I placed my hand on his shoulder and hands held.
His other hand is in the middle of my back. He starts leading to the right. I chuckled, as it's weird not hearing music.
He spun me around, stood behind me. He moved a little then unspins me out of his arms. Our hands hold each other.
We pulled each other in, then out and back in again. He moves back, then pulls us back close together, then dips me down low.
"Okay, Josh Dummel," I said, giggling. "Giggle it up, Julianne Hough," he said, then moved me back up.
We chuckled softly. He lifts our arms up, moves hands to the back of his neck. I held his neck as he lifted me off my feet.
He held onto him. "Daniel Voight, you sweep me off my feet," I said, giggling. "Good, that's what I am going for," he said, chuckling.
I chuckled back softly, looking at him. He looked at me. I looked at him as I wanted to kiss him, but I couldn't.
My phone started vibrating. I gasped softly as my phone scared me. I looked at my phone. "It's Cassidy," I said.
"Cassidy ruined a moment," he said. "Yeah, she did. Well, she's on her way to get me. I think we should go back," I said.
"I agree. It's almost 11 pm," he said. I nodded as we headed back. "I can't believe we danced like Josh Dummel and Julianne Hough in Safe Haven," I said, chuckling.
"One of my favorite movies," he said. "Mine too, especially that scene where they danced until his friend Rhett showed up and ruined a moment between Katie and Alex," I said.
Daniel nodded, smiling. "And a plot twist ending that I didn't see coming," he said. "I wasn't expecting that. At least Katie and Alex found their second chance at love," I said.
"I agree," I said. "Everyone deserves a second chance at love," he said. "That's true," I said. We headed back to Daniel's truck.
Before 11pm
Daniel and I were waiting for Cassidy to pick me up. We are sitting on the tailgate of his truck, waiting for her.
"I had fun tonight," I said. "Me too. Did you have a good birthday?" I asked. "I did. I got to have my first appearance on an In Your House ppv, which was one of my favorite ppv as a child. I'm living my dream, which is the best birthday I could ever ask for," he said.
"I'm glad you're having a good birthday and living your dream, Daniel. You deserve it," I said, smiling.
"Thank you, Jaelyn. I can't wait to hang out with you again soon," he said, smiling. "Looking forward to it," I said, smiling.
Daniel smiled back, looking at me. I heard a horn honking, looking over. "Step away from my sister!" Cassidy yelled.
I see Cassidy's car. "What the?" Daniel asked. "Oh there's Cassidy. She's just being silly," I said, chuckling.
"Ohh, it's all good. She kind of scared me a little bit," he said. "One moment Cassidy! Well, I better go with her since it's two minutes to eleven," I said.
"I agree. I better go as well," he said. "Well thanks for the lovely night, enjoyed the stars and that little dance we had. I had a good time," I said.
"You're welcome and thanks for going with me for my birthday," he said. "You're welcome. You have a good night," I said.
"You as well," he said. Daniel and I hugged each other. "Night," I said, walking towards Cassidy's car.
Daniel grabs my hand. "Wait," he said, pulling me away from Cassidy's view. We hid away from her to the front part of his truck.
"What?" I asked. Daniel looks at me, cupping my cheeks and kissing me. He continued to kiss me and I kissed him back as he backed me into his truck.
I held him as we kissed. He lifted me up, kissing me again.
I held onto him as we continued to kiss each other. We pulled away, placing our forehead.
"Good night," he said. "Night and enjoy the last hour of your birthday," I said. Daniel puts me down, kissing me again.
I walked over to Cassidy's car, breathing softly. I looked at Daniel as he smiled.
I smiled back, getting in the car. Cassidy looks at me, with her smirk. "Shut up, Cass," I said, smiling.
"I'm not saying anything," she said, driving off. I started smiling as I know I am in big trouble because I kissed two different guys less than two months after my divorce.
---
Cassidy pulls up to my driveway. "Thank you, Cassidy," I said. "You're welcome. By the way, Fergal got the twins from Bryson's house," she said.
"Okay. See you later," I said. "See you later as well," she said. "Also, please don't tell Marcel or anyone about this," I said.
"You know I won't," she said. "Good. Thanks for the lift," I said. "You're welcome and have a good night," she said.
I walked up to my porch. I put my code in and unlocked my house. I shut my door, setting my alarm to keep myself safe.
I headed to my bedroom, grabbing my phone. 'Hey, I made it home', sending the text. I changed into my pajama pants and tank top.
I put my phone down. getting comfortable. My phone started ringing. I grabbed my phone, seeing Daniel calling me on FaceTime.
I smiled softly, answering my phone. "Hey, you," I asked. "Hey. So you made it home safe?" he asked.
"Yes, I did. Did you?" I asked. "I did. I figured I Facetime with you," he said. "Well, I was about ready to go to bed," I said.
"Oh okay. Well, I just wanted to check on you. Thanks for letting me know you made it home," he said.
"No problem. I'll see you at NXT on Tuesday. Have a good night," I said. "You as well. Sweet dreams," he said.
"Same to you as well," I said. "Night," he said. "Night," I said. I didn't end the call. He didn't either.
"Are you still there?" he asked. "Yeah, you?" I asked. "Yeah," he said. "Okay, I'm going...," I paused, and started yawning.
I sighed after yawning. "Sorry, I'm going to bed," I said. "Okay. I feel better as well, but I can't stop thinking about that kiss we had," he said.
"Same. It reminded me of Katie and Alex, kissing each other," I said. "Well, I wanted to recreate that scene," he said.
"I think it was better than theirs," I said. "Oh it was," he said. I smiled back as we continued talking on FaceTime.
