Ch. 30

Jaelyn

I'm still at my divorce party. I've been seeing friends and family, thanking them for coming. I'm glad that my mom, Johnny, my sister Brie, my brother JJ and his Lauren.

Cassidy got to finally meet our mom and sister Brie for the first time. It's good to see some of my family.

Marcel's not here. I wish he was here though because he's helped me through my divorce and got my heart to be fully healed again.

I am talking to my newest friend. His name is Daniel and Cassidy introduced me to him and we've been talking.

It sounds like he's asking me on a date. "Actually, I'm just focusing on myself and my kids. We can be friends and get to know each other more. Plus, there's someone I actually like but he's not here," I said.

"I understand and I love to be friends with you," he said. "Would you like my number?" I asked. "Actually, Cassidy already gave it to me," he said.

I nodded. "Ohh. It sounds like she really wants us together," I said. "Well, I hate to confess this," he said.

"Confess what?" I asked. "I told your sister Cassidy that I was developing a crush on you when I first saw you," he said.

"Really?" I asked. "Yes. I told her that I wanted to meet you but she told me that you were seeing Marcel," he said.

"Oh," I said. "Yeah. Are you still seeing Marcel?" he asked. "I stopped seeing him because he didn't tell me that he was seeing me and another girl," I said.

"Is the the guy that you like?" he asked. "Yes, I still like him but I told him that I want to be friends," I said.

"Well, that's good though," he said. I nodded, sipping my margarita. "But anywho," I said. Cassidy walks over.

"Well, hello, you two," Cassidy said. "Hey, Cassidy," Daniel said. "Hey, Cass. What are you doing?" I asked.

"I wanted to check on you. I see you're talking to Daniel," she said. "Yeah, I am," I said. "What are you two talking about?" she asked.

"Just talking," I said. "Yeah, just talking," he said. "Well, Jaelyn, since it's your divorce party, you need to give a speech," she said.

"I don't have anything written down," I said. "Well just improvise," she said. I nodded. "Daniel, I will be right back," I said.

"Sounds good," he said, winking at me. I smiled softly, biting my lip. I walked up to the DJ. He gave me a mic.

"Thank you," I said. I looked at everyone, pretending that no one was there.

"Hello. Thank you for coming to celebrate with me as a newly divorced woman. After being married for almost seven years to the man I thought was the man of my dreams. Marriage has its ups and downs. I wasn't ready to give up almost seven years of marriage but I felt like I was sleeping next to a stranger. We separated but he wanted our marriage to work but then he confessed to me that it was the biggest lie he ever told me. So I decided to file for divorce from him. On my oldest daughter's birthday, I got the papers to confirm that I am divorced from Fergal. Now I am free to do whatever I want. So here's to my new beginnings!" I said, holding my margarita up.

Everyone raised their glasses, cheering me on. "Wooo!" Daniel cheered. I smiled softly. Cassidy and Lauren hugged me.

I held them both. My family walked over and hugged me. "We are so happy that you finally worked th courage to divorce Fergal," JJ said.

"I know. You know that the reason I tried to keep my marriage alive because mom and dad couldn't save there. Marcel made me realize that I deserve better than Fergal," I said.

"I hope we get to meet this Marcel guy that you've been talking about," Brie said. "Well, I am focusing on myself and my kids, that's more important," I said.

Later That Night

I continued talking to family, friends. The party's starting to wind down, guests started heading home.

JJ and Lauren hugged me as they left to check on the kids. Lauren and Jon left as well. I am looking over the night sky, looking at the stars.

"Hey, you," I heard Daniel. I turned around, seeing him. "Hey," I said, smiling. He looks up at the stars.

"Looking at the stars?" he asked. "Yeah. They make the dark skies bright," I said. "That's true. Also; "Someone once said, 'it is not in the stars to hold our destiny, but in ourselves. But I believe everything that happens, happens for a reason."," he said.

"Best of Me by Nicholas Sparks?" I asked. "Yes. It's a good novel," he said. "Do you like books?" I asked.

"I love reading. The movie left some of the best parts from the novel," he said. "Oh, I know. The movies did that to the Harry Potter books too, leaving the best parts," I said.

"True. Do you have a favorite novel?" he asked. "I really loved reading Fifty Shades of Grey novels," I said.

"Same here. I read the ones from Christian's perspective as well," he said. "What I loved about the novel is that Ana starts growing confident into Christian's lifestyle, wanting to explore her limits," I said.

"It's also sad to hear about Christian's childhood. It reminds me of mine," he said. I looked at Daniel.

"What do you mean?" I asked. "When I was like 3 or 4 years old, my mother was an exotic dancer, hooker and a drug addict. She walked the streets, hooking up with random strangers and her pimp doped her up with heroin and crystal meth," he said.

"Ohh, that's scary," I said. "Here's the worst part. While I was sleeping, I woke up to a loud sound. I checked to see what was going on. I saw my mother crying, getting slapped and beaten down. She saw that I was watching it all happened, and she told me to run and hide. So, I did. I hid in my closet, covering my ears as I heard her cries. Then he found me, dragged me out of my closet and he...," he said, showing his chest.

I see burn marks, touching them. He breathes heavily as it triggers him. "Oh my," I said. "After that, I was sexually molested by my mother's friend who babysat me," he said, breathing heavily.

I looked at him, feeling bad for him. "Oh my god. I am so sorry to hear that," I said, shedding a tear for him.

"When I was five years old, I woke up and found my mom on the floor, beaten to death. I stayed by mother's side until the police showed up. A woman cop was with a male cop. So, I went with her. The ambulance took me to the hospital to get checked on. My grandparents came from Dayton, Ohio and took me to live with them. They raised me to be the man that I am," he said.

"That's good. So, you were raised by your grandparents?" I asked. Daniel nodded. "Yes, however, I don't call them my grandparents. They're my parents," he said.

"That's good" I said, smiling. "Thank you," he said. "Mind if I hug you?" I asked. "I don't mind," he said.

We hugged each other. I held his head. We pulled away. "Thank you for listening to my life story," he said.

"Well, I would like to know more about you," I said. "I agree. I better head out, getting tired," I said.

"Okay, I better head back out as well," he said. "Okay. Well, thanks for coming and celebrating me being a newly divorced woman," I said.

"You're welcome," he said. We hugged each other. "See you around," I said. "See ya," he said, smiling.

I smiled back, leaving The Rooftop. Cassidy's waiting for me at the elevator. She smiled as she saw me.

I smiled softly. "Someone's all smiles," Cassidy said. "Well, I had a fun night tonight. I'm ready to take these off," I said, taking my heels off.

"I agree," she said, taking hers off. I nodded, smiling. "So what were you and Daniel talking about?" she asked.

"Just talking," I said. "Ohh, anything else?" she asked. "Um... we are gonna be just friends and get to know each other," I said.

"Oooh," she said, smirking. "Nothing serious, Cass. I'm focusing on myself and my kids. Remember that," I said.

"Looks like my little plan is working," she said. "It could be," I said. "Well I hope you have fun when that happens," she said.

I nodded. "However, I still have Marcel on my mind," I said. "I know you do. I think Daniel's a better fit for you," she said.

June 8th, 2021/NXT

It's been a few days since my divorce party. It was a fun night. I wished Marcel was there to celebrate with me because he's the reason why I am free from my marriage to Fergal.

Daniel and I have been texting and talking. We text each other like everyday. I arrived at the Capitol Wrestling Center inside the Performance Center.

I don't have a match tonight. Poppy is a guest star for tonight. I see Melissa and Kyle leaving the medical area. They look happy and smile.

"Miles!" I said. Melissa looks at me. "Jaelyn!" she said. I walked over to them. Melissa and I hugged each other.

"How are you feeling?" I asked. "A little better now," she said. "Are you medically cleared to get her back in the ring?" I asked.

"Actually, we found out why Melissa has been feeling sick," Kyle said. "What happened?" I asked, looking at them.

"Well, should we tell her?" Kyle asked. "I think we should," she said, smiling. "What's going on?" I asked, confused.

"Kyle and I are expecting our little rainbow baby," I said. "Oh my. Congratulations!" I said, smiling.

"Thank you," she said. "Thank you, Jaelyn," he said. "How far along are you?" I asked. "I am four weeks pregnant," she said.

"Well congratulations you two," I said. "Thank you so much," she said. "Well, I'm gonna take her home so she can rest, then come back," Kyle said.

"Well, see you guys later. Get well soon, Melissa," I said. "My doctor told me that I need to stay home and away from other people for my whole pregnancy," she said.

"That's a good idea. See you guys on Zoom," I said. "See you later," they said, leaving the Performance Center.

I walked away. I grabbed my phone, checking it. I see Marcel then he looks at me, smiling. "Hey, Jaelyn," Marcel said.

"Hey," I said. Marcel and I hugged each other from the side. "How was your divorce party?" he asked.

"It was fun. I kind of wished you were there," I said. "I know. I even told you that I will be there for you. I was worried that Jessica would show up and ruin it for you. I just didn't want to bring drama on your big night. That's why I didn't go," he said.

"Fabian told me but I wanted to hear it from you. Thank you for telling me," I said. "You're welcome. Fabian told me about the party. He saw that you had a lot of fun," he said.

"Oh I bet," I said. "Yeah. He told me that he saw a guy talking to you," I said. "Yeah. He's a friend of Cassidy's. Cassidy's trying to set me up with him," I said.

"Really?" he asked. "Yeah. Plus, I'm single and we agreed to be just friends, right?" I asked. "Yes, we agreed to be just friends. If you do start seeing someone else, I will support you," he said.

"You sure? I don't want you to think I'm trying to make you jealous," I said. "Well, I might get a little jealous, but I want you to be happy," he said.

I nodded. "Thank you, Marcel," I said, smiling. "You're welcome. I have to go now. I will see you later," he said, smiling.

"See you around," I said. Marcel and I hugged each other. Marcel and I walked away from each other.

I headed back to the women's locker room. I see someone coming out of the men's locker room. He's dressed as a security guy with a white shirt and vest.

He looks up and it's Daniel. "Daniel, is that you?" I asked. "Hey, Jaelyn. It's me," he said, smiling. "Why are you dressed like a Mall Security guard?" I asked.

"Ohh. I'm actually making my first TV appearance with another signee as security guards that's bringing in something from Ted DiBiase to bring for the LA Knight vs Cameron Grimes match that's gonna happen at In Your House and it's in this case," he said, showing the case.

"Well, it looks good on you," I said. "Thank you. I better get going because that segment is coming up," he said, putting his hat on.

He also puts his glasses on. "Nice glasses," I said, smiling. "Thank you. I will see you later," he said, smiling.

"You're welcome. See you later," I said, smiling. Daniel and I walked away from each other. I turned around, checking him out.

I bit my lip a little bit. I chuckled softly. He turned the corner. "Oh my," I whispered softly. I walked to the women's locker room.

I opened the door. I see someone I haven't seen in weeks. "Hi, Jae-san," she said. "Hey, are you back?" I asked, looking at her.
