Ch. 19

Jaelyn

{I am at the Performance Center, seeing all the people I work with. I went to use the restrooms alone.

I turned on the water, splashing water on my face. I stood up, seeing Fergal standing behind me. "Hey, Jaelyn," Fergal said.

"Fergal, please leave me alone. We're divorced, I don't want you anymore" I said. "Come on, Jaelyn, please take me back. You still want me," he said, trying to kiss me.

"Fergal, don't," I said as I pushed him. "Don't what? You want me," he said, trying to hold me down.

I tried to fight Fergal off but he's too strong. "Get off me," I cried.}

I woke up, gasping softly. I looked at the time, seeing it's 3 in the morning. I sighed softly, getting up from my bed.

I left my room, seeing Marcel. He's still sleeping and shirtless. I tipped towed through my living room without waking Marcel up.

I got to my kitchen, grabbing lactate free ice cream. I grabbed a spoon. I took the lid off, taking a bite of my ice cream.

"I feel better now," I whispered. I continued to eat my ice cream. "Jaelyn?" I hear Marcel. I gasped softly, jumpy.

"Oh Marcel," I said, in relief. "Oh I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you. Are you okay?" Marcel asked, rubbing my back.

I shook my head. "I had a bad dream," I said. Marcel sat next to me. "What happened?" he asked.

"It's too scary to tell you. If I talk about it, it might continue," I said. Marcel nodded. "It's okay, we don't want that," he said.

I nodded, taking another bite. "Ice cream?" he asked. "Yes, lactose free," I said. "Can I try?" he asked.

"Sure," I said, taking a scoop. Marcel tried a taste of my lactose free ice cream. He shook his head.

"Not for me," he said. "I have an idea," I said, going to my fridge. I grabbed chocolate syrup, adding it to the ice cream.

He tries it again. "Now that's better," he said, smiling. I nodded, taking another bite. "Hey, Jaelyn," he said.

"What?" I asked. Marcel puts chocolate on my nose. "MarcelI" I yelled, cleaning off my nose. Marcel chuckled.

"You think this is funny?" I asked. "Yes but it's cute tho," he said, smiling. "Well, then," I paused, grabbing some chocolate.

I put it on his face, chuckling. "Hey!" he said. "That's payback," I said, smiling. Marcel grabbed the chocolate, putting it on my face.

Marcel chuckled softly. "Now, we're even," he said. I nodded, cleaning off my face. I grabbed my spoon, taking a scoop out.

"Hey, Marcel," I said. "What?" he asked. I held the spoon to his mouth. He opens his mouth as I spill it on his bare chest.

"Oops, sorry," I said, laughing. "Oh crap. It's leaving goosebumps on my chest," he said. "I am so sorry. I'll get it," I said, cleaning it off his chest.

"Thank you. By the way," he said, licking the chocolate off my face. "Now it's off," he said, smiling.

"Thank you. I better put this back so it doesn't melt," I said. I put the lid back on my ice cream. I got up, putting it back in the freezer and putting away the chocolate syrup in the fridge.

"Cute shirt. Is that your new merch?" he asked. "Yes. The Rebel Is Back," I said, smiling. "It's lovely. I might get it," he said.

"You better," I said, smiling. "So how are you feeling after that nightmare?" he asked. "Better now," I said.

"That's good," he said, smiling. "Well, I'm gonna go back to bed," I said. "I better go back to sleep as well," he said.

I nodded. "Okay. Good night," I said, hugging him. "Goodnight, Schön," he said, holding me, placing his chin on my head.

I looked up, kissing his cheek. I went back to my room, shutting the door. I got back in my bed. I laid down on my bed as I closed my eyes and smiled.

Next Morning

I woke up, turning over. I see it's 8am. It's my birthday. I got up, putting on a hoodie and sweatpants.

I leave my room, walking to my living room. Marcel is still sleeping on the couch. He's snoring lightly.

I smiled softly, heading to my kitchen to make some coffee. I yawned softly, rubbing my eyes. "I can't believe that I am 28 today," I whispered.

I grabbed two mugs, setting them down. I grabbed the dairy-free creamer for me. I took the coffee, pour it into two mugs.

I added the dairy-free one in my mug and left the second one black. I went to the living room, trying to wake Marcel.

"Morning," I said. "Morning," he said, smiling. He sat up. "How did you sleep?" I asked. He groaned softly.

"Headache?" I asked. "Yeah, a little hungover but I slept pretty good," he said. "That's good. Coffee?" I asked.

"Oh thank you," he said. I sat down next to him. "You're welcome," I said. "How did you sleep?" he asked.

"Like a drunk baby," I said, smiling. "That's good. Happy birthday, Jaelyn," he said. "Thank you," I said, smiling.

"You're welcome," he said, taking a sip. I took one too. "This is good coffee," he said. "It's imported from France," I said.

"So what are you doing for your birthday?" he asked. "Um, Bridgette and I are gonna do some birthday shopping and get brunch," I said.

"Do you have anything planned for later tonight?" he asked. "Um, I don't think so since it's Sunday," I said.

"Okay. Would you like to go out with me tonight for your birthday?" he asked. "I'd love to," I said, smiling. "Okay. How does 6:30pm sound?" he asked.

"It's a date," I said, smiling. Marcel smiled. "Well, Fabian's gonna come and get me. I'm gonna head home and go back to sleep," he said, setting the mug down.

I nodded, smiling. He grabbed his white turtleneck shirt, putting it on. "Marcel, no offense, you look like you raided Jensen Ackles' closet from the 90s while wearing a turtleneck minus glasses," I said.

"Oh, I'll take it as a complement," he said, getting up. I nodded, smiling. "Did you give Fabian my new address?" I asked.

"I told him where you live but he'll follow a GPS to my location," he said. "Just let me know when you're coming to get me later," I said.

"I will. Wear something classy, if you know what I mean," he said. "Marcel, I am the youngest sister of Brie and Nikki Bella, I know how to dress classy," I said, smiling.

Marcel nodded. I hear a car honking outside. "That must be Fabian," he said. I nodded. "Well, I'll walk you out," I said, setting my mug on the table.

I got up, walking Marcel to my door. I unlocked it, opening it. "I will see you later tonight," Marcel said, smiling.

I nodded, smiling. "See you later, Schön," I said. Marcel and I hugged each other. Marcel kissed my cheek, heading out.

I smiled. He goes to the car, getting in. Fabian waves at me as he leaves my driveway, driving away.

I lifted my head up. I see Bryson's truck coming towards my driveway. Bryson gets out of the truck, opening the other door.

Bridgette gets out of Bryson's truck, walking over to me. "Hi, Momma," Bridgette said. "Hi, Bridge," I said, hugging her.

Bryson walked behind Bridgette. "Hey, Jae. Happy birthday," Bryson said. "Thank you, Bryson," I said.

"You're welcome. How was yours and Cassidy's birthday bash?" he asked. "Good. I had a blast. Tell Gracie thanks for coming," I said.

"That's good. I will tell her. So was Marcel that was leaving?" he asked. "Yes. Bridgette, Daddy and I are talking grown up stuff. Can you go inside?" I asked.

Bridgette nodded, hugging Bryson. Bryson kisses the top of her head. "I'll have Momma bring me back to your house," she said.

"Okay. Have fun birthday shopping and brunch with Momma," Bryson said. Bridgette nodded, hugging her daddy.

"Thanks, Daddy. See you later," Bridgette said, coming inside. "So what was Marcel doing here?" he asked, softly.

"He arrived at mine and Cassidy's birthday bash and he stayed over, just in-case I threw up or prevented someone from taking advantage of me. He kept me safe," I said.

"Oh good. Did anything happen?" he asked. I shook my head. "I had a bad dream about Fergal. Marcel and I talked for a bit then I went back to bed," I said.

"Oh that's good," he said. I nodded. "But later tonight, he's taking me out for my birthday," I said. "Oh, is it an actual date?" he asked.

"It sounds like it but I'll see what happens. My heart isn't fully healed from Fergal hurting me," I said.

Bryson nodded. "Plus, you and Fergal have been divorced within 48 hours. If you do start dating right after your divorce is final, I'll support you," he said.

I nodded. "Thank you, Bryson," I said. "You deserve to go on dates after going through hell with Fergal. I want you to be happy," he said.

I nodded. "I don't want to rush into anything or get my heartbroken again," I said. "That's understandable. I better head home," he said.

"I'll bring her back to your house after we finish our birthday shopping and lunch," I said. "Okay. Also, Jaelyn, please don't let Bridgette get any makeup," he said.

"I told her that she has to wait until she turns 14 to wear makeup," I said. "Thank you. Talk to you later," he said.

I went back inside, shutting the door. I headed to my room to get changed.

ridgette and I are having a birthday lunch for us at Denny's. We also did a little birthday shopping for ourselves at the Mall.

Bridgette got some new clothes and a pair of kids Dr. Martens. I got some clothes, makeup, shoes, lingerie from Victoria Secret and an outfit for my birthday date with Marcel.

We even did a photo booth at the Mall. "These are good pictures of us, Momma," Bridgette said.

"Yes, they are. I used to do photo booths at the mall when I was a teenager," I said. "Oh cool. Did you have a lot of friends in school?" she asked.

I nodded. "I had a lot of friends in high school. Did your daddy tell you that he used to bully me in school?" I asked.

"He did. I told him he was a mean boy," she said. "Daddy was a jerk to Mommy. Now we get along better," I said.

Bridgette nodded. "Now, Daddy Fergal's being a big meany to you," she said. I nodded. "What did Daddy Fergal do to you, Momma?" she asked.

I looked at Bridgette, telling her what happened between me and Fergal. "I'm sorry, Momma," she said.

"It's okay. So what do you think of Gracie?" I asked. "I like her," she said. "Good. Is your daddy happy with Gracie?" I asked.

"Yes. If she makes my daddy happy, then I am happy," she said. I nodded, smiling. "Remember, if you want to call her mom one day, you can," I said.

Bridgette nodded, smiling. "After you take me back to Daddy's house, what are you gonna do for the rest of your birthday?" she asked.

"I know. Have a Supernatural marathon because the whole series is done," I said. "I love Supernatural, especially Dean. He's my favorite," she said.

"He's my favorite too. Do you have a crush on someone in school?" I asked. "Well, there's this boy in my school that teases me all the time," she said.

"Your daddy used to tease me like that when I was your age," I said. "Why did Daddy tease you like that?" she asked.

"Because your daddy secretly liked me. However, your daddy won't admit it at that age. That boy won't admit they like you until 7th grade," I said.

Bridgette nodded. "True," she said. I nodded, taking a sip of my water as Bridgette and I continued to talk.
