Ch. 14
Jaelyn
After my hangout with Marcel, I drove him home. We are in the parking lot. I can't believe he waited a long time to tell me that he has a crush on me.
I'm glad he told me that he has a crush on me. He's even willing to wait until my heart is fully healed.
I hate to admit this, I'm kind of starting to like him as well but I don't want to because I am not divorced from Fergal yet.
"Well, thanks for hanging out with me again, Jaelyn," Marcel said. "You're welcome," I said. "You have a good night," he said.
"You as well," I said. Marcel and I hugged each other. He gets out of my car. "Night, schön," he said, smiling.
"Night. Don't forget your stuff from my trunk," I said. "I won't," he said, going to my trunk. He grabbed his stuff.
"I got it," he said, smiling. "Okay. See you later," I said. "See you. Let me know when you made it home," he said.
"I'll text you," I said, smiling. "Night, Jaelyn," he said. "Night, Marcel," I said. He smiled again, shutting my car door.
I pulled out of the parking lot. I decided to drive to Bryson's to get Bridgette and the twins.
An Hour Later
I went to pick up the twins at Bryson's house and took them home. Bridgette's staying at her dad's house since it's his week to have Bridgette.
Bridgette goes to her dad's house every other week. I got them both out of their booster seats gently without waking them.
I went through my garage, locking it up. I shut the door. I took the twins upstairs, laying them in their twin beds since they're asleep.
"Here you go," I whispered. FJ turns over, grabbing his bear. I kissed his head. Irelynd grabs her unicorn, holding it.
I kissed her head. I walked to their door, playing white noise. I shut their lights off as their little night light goes on.
I shut the door gently. I went back to my car, grabbing the stuff out of the car. I headed back inside, shutting and locking the door.
I shut off my kitchen light, heading to my room, sitting on my bed. I grabbed my phone, texting Marcel to let him know I'm home.
'Hey. I made it home with the twins. See you at the PC'. I put my phone on the charger. I heard my phone vibrating.
I grabbed it off the table, and I noticed that it wasn't Marcel. It's Fergal calling me, answering my phone.
"Hello, Fergal! I haven't heard from you in two weeks. Why haven't you returned my calls to talk to the kids? They were worried about you," I said.
"I was in Mexico to give time to myself," he lied. "Fergal, don't lie to me. I know that you were in Mexico with another woman," I said.
"How did you know?" he asked. "Oh I got a DM on twitter from an anonymous person. They saw you in Mexico with a blonde woman. I thought it was Veronica but it was a different girl. Who is she?" I asked.
"Okay. Her name is Sierra Harrison. I've been secretly dating her since your lawyer had a random person give me a letter that you're divorcing me. So yeah, Sierra and I had sushi afterwards and we fucked. Plus, I saw that you're seeing Marcel Barthel," he said.
"Marcel and I are just friends, Fergal. There's nothing wrong with me being friends with someone that has been a good friend," I said.
"Are you fucking Marcel Barthel?" he asked. "No, Fergal, I am not. We're just friends, nothing more," I said.
"Well at least Sierra's way hotter than you," he said. "Do I care that she's hot? I really don't. She can have you, Fergal. I am moving on and I am going to bed. Enjoy Mexico. I'll see you next week when we meet with our lawyers and sign the divorce papers," I said, ending the call.
I changed Fergal's contact from My Hubby to Fergal Ex-Hubby. My phone vibrated as I saw a text from Marcel.
'Hey beautiful. Thank you for letting me know that you made it home. I'll see you at the PC. Night, schön :)'. I read.
I replied to him. 'Night :)' I sent the text to him. I sat my phone down on the nightstand. I went to my bathroom to take a shower then go to bed.
One Week Later
Today is the day Fergal and I officially sign our divorce papers. We're meeting our lawyers right now.
We're signing our divorce papers today so they can be approved in a couple of weeks. Fergal has a new girlfriend named Sierra.
I hope he doesn't bring her to meet with our lawyers. I'm not ready to meet her and I don't want to meet her.
I'm dressed up my black pantsuit and heels. I arrived at our attorney's office. My lawyer Dennis Marks and Fergal's lawyer named Jane.
"Good morning, Jaelyn," Dennis said. "Morning, Mr. Marks," I said. "Nice to meet you, Jaelyn," Jane said, shaking my hand.
"Nice to meet you, Mrs. Marks," I said. I sat down next to Fergal. "Hi, Jaelyn," Fergal said. "Hi, Fergal," I said.
I have both my rings off. "Okay. We're here to sign the divorce papers. Once these are signed, you two will no longer be married. Are you two sure you want this?" Dennis asked.
Fergal nodded. "Yes, I am sure. Will this affect my green card?" Fergal asked. "Did you two get a fiancé visa?" his lawyer Jane asked.
"No, we didn't," I said. "I have a work visa then we got married and I got a green card. Will this divorce affect it?" he asked.
"If you two are divorced, your green card should be okay. However, there's a possibility that you'll get deported," Jane said.
Fergal nodded. "Okay," he said. I looked at Fergal. He starts signing each line on the divorce papers.
He does his signature, setting the pen down. "Maybe you and your new girlfriend could apply for a K1 Visa," I said.
"Jaelyn, are you double sure you want to divorce Fergal?" Dennis asked. "I am sure. I don't want to be married to a liar and a cheater anymore," I said.
Fergal sighed softly. I looked it over first to make sure it's right. I sighed. I grabbed a pen, starts signing my name on each line.
I did my signature, putting the pen down. I sighed softly. "Okay. We'll send this to the judge and we will mail you a letter that you two are divorced," Dennis said.
"Good. Are we free to go?" I asked. "Yes, you two have a good rest of the day," Dennis said. We stood up, shaking hands.
I leave the office. "Jaelyn, can we talk for a minute?" Fergal asked. "Not in here, outside," I said, walking out.
Fergal and I made it outside to talk. "Okay, you have one minute," I said, folding my arms.
"I am sorry that I went to Mexico with another woman without telling you or the kids. The thing between me and Sierra happened after you served me divorce letter. I am sorry for not answering your calls when you called me or when I heard the kids voices on the voicemail. I really didn't mean to hurt you or the kids. I promised in my vows to you that I would never hurt you, cheat on you and lie to you ever again. I broke that promise. I'm very sorry, Jaelyn. I will always love you, Jaelyn. No matter what. Can you please forgive me?" Fergal asked.
I sighed softly, looking down. I sniffled softly. I grabbed Fergal's hand, putting the rings and Finn necklace that he gave me.
"I'm sorry, Fergal. I don't think I can forgive you right now. I need time for my heart to heal right now. I have to go," I said, closing his hand.
Fergal sighed, looking inside his hand. "Bye Fergal. I'll bring the twins to you this Friday," I said, heading to my car.
I got in my car, shutting the door. I see Fergal looking in his hand, tearing up. I pulled out of the parking lot, driving to the daycare center.
Later
I got the twins from daycare. We're at home. I am sitting on the couch. FJ and Irelynd are playing around the living room.
"Mommy, are you okay?" FJ asked. I shook my head. "Sissy, Mommy needs us," FJ said, getting on the couch.
Irelynd got on the couch with us. "How's Daddy?" Irelynd asked. "He's fine. I guess. Irelynd, FJ, I need to tell you something," I said.
I heard a knock on the door. "It's open," I said. The door opens. I see Bridgette and Bryson coming inside.
"Hi, Mommy," Bridgette said, hugging me. I hugged her. "Hi, Bridgette. Hey, Brys," I said, smiling.
"Hey, Jae. How did today go?" he asked. "How did what go?" Bridgette asked. "Jae, it's time to tell them," Bryson said.
I nodded. "Can you sit down, Bridgette?" I asked. "Sure," Bridgette said, sitting on the couch. FJ goes to Bridgette, sitting in her lap.
"Okay. Bridgette, Irelynd, FJ, there's something I have to tell you guys," I said, sitting Irelynd in my lap.
"Is Daddy coming home?" Irelynd asked. "No, Daddy's not coming home," I said. "Why?" FJ asked, looking at me.
"Daddy and I are divorcing. We just signed our divorce papers and now we're waiting for the judge to approve the divorce. So you two will see your daddy at his place and you two will be with me as well," I said.
Bridgette nodded, looking down. "Bridgette, I know Fergal's been in your life since you were four years old. You two have a bond that can't be broken. No matter if he and I are together or not, he will alway be a father figure to you. No offense Bryson," I said.
"None taken," Bryson said. "Can I still call Fergal Daddy Fergal?" I asked. "You can still call Fergal; Daddy Fergal if you want," Bryson said.
Bridgette nodded. "And if you want, you can see and talk to Daddy Fergal anytime you want and your daddy will take you," I said, looking at her.
"Okay, Mommy. I'm gonna miss seeing you two being married and living together. It's something I'll have to get used to," she said.
I nodded. "You will, Bridgette, just give it time," I said. Bridgette nodded, hugging me. I held her, kissing her head.
"What's divorce?" FJ asked. "It's where mommy and daddy can't be together anymore because they fall out of love," Bridgette told FJ.
FJ nodded. "Once you two are older, you guys will understand," Bridgette said. Irelynd and FJ nodded.
"What Bridge said. Once you're older, you two will understand," I said, kissing Irelynd's head. Irelynd turns to me, hugging me.
I hugged her. Fj crawls over to me, hugging me. "Hey, bubby," I said, kissing his cheek. "You have all three of your kids with you, Jaelyn," Bryson said.
"That I do. My kids are all I need," I said. "Well, I'm gonna head home. Date with Gracie. Give me a hug, Bridgette Jolene," Bryson said.
Bridgette gets up, hugging her dad. "Bye, Daddy, thanks for bringing me to Mommy's," Bridgette said.
"You're welcome. I'll pick her up at school tomorrow," Bryson said. "Okay," I said. Bryson kisses Bridgette's head.
"She needs to stop growing," Bryson said. "She will stop growing soon when she turns 13," I said.
Bryson nodded. "Bye, guys," he said. The twins wave at him. "Bye, Daddy. I love you. See you tomorrow," Bridgette said.
"Bye, Bridgette. Love you too and listen to your mom," Bryson said, opening the door. Bridgette nodded as Bryson headed out, shutting the door.
Bridgette sits back on the couch with me and her siblings. "Bryson's right, this is all I need right now. My little ones," I said, smiling.
"Daddy's always right, Mommy," Bridgette said, hugging me. I smiled softly. I grabbed my phone, holding it up.
"Kids, smile," I said. Bridgette and twins look up. They smiled as I took pictures. I posted on Instagram, 'All I need are theses three beautiful children #singlemother #motherofthree #feelingblessed'
"That's a good picture of all four of us," Bridgette said. I nodded. "By the way, we will be moving into a brand new house in less than a couple weeks," I said.
"You finally sold this house?" Bridgette asked. I nodded, smiling. "Too many bad memories," I said.
Bridgette and the twins nodded. "Good idea," Bridgette said. "Can't wait," FJ said. "Yay!" Irelynd said, smiling.
