We were at Granbob's house, Donte and Donavon went back to bed, (like I've said before, they were typical teenagers), Granbob and I were on the couch drinking a cuppa, like you do, it was still only like 10 in the morning, so I decided that I should tell Granbob that Levi and I got together, (as he was rooting for us).

"I have news for you Granbob"
"You're not fucking pregnant are ya?"
"What!, no, no no, I've not done that deed yet"
"Good, your Aunt Aofie has given me enough scares that I'm now fully grey because of the scares"

He was fully grey, yes, but I don't think that Aofie was the full cause of Granbob going grey, as Dad had been pretty wild in his day, (though it was mostly parties and stuff, my bet thing with Mike was still way worse than what Dad ever did), but I suppose that having more than one wild child would make it feel like the younger one did more damage to your hair colour, (though I'm not entirely sure as I wouldn't know what having a wild child was like).

"What about Niamh?"
"She wasn't interested in people like that when she was in school, I'm pretty sure that her Henry is the only person that she's ever liked that way and he was after she left school"

I knew that if I didn't say anything now, it would take another bloody hour because while I love hearing Granbob's stories, he was never one for a short, sweet and straight to the point kind of stories, no no, they were long and they went on and on, (which most of the time I liked as I liked Granbob's stories, but I needed to tell him before I chickened out of it).

"Levi asked me out and I said yes"
"You and Coke bottles finally got your shit together"
"So you'll be ok if I go out at 2 today?"
"Yeah, as long as there's no hanky panky-"
"We would have to be at the kissing stage first for there to be any hanky panky Granbob"
"Alright so, just doing my job as your grandfather here"

You probably find it a bit weird that I told Granbob before I told Dad, but Granbob had literally been rooting for Levi and I to get together since I met Levi, (don't ask me why because I don't know why), so it would've made his day to know that we got together, (though he was weirdly correct about what would actually happen from time to time and that did kind of freak me out to be honest with you here).

"So are you ready or do you need to go get ready?, like what's the plan of action?, do I need to go grab stuff from ya Da's?"
"I'll get dressed and then see what I actually feel up for"
"Alright so"

After that we just chilled on the couch, Granbob was telling me another one of his stories, (sorry that I don't remember which story he rattled on about, he has a plethora of stories), though hearing the stories did actually help pass the time, (we didn't really have decent day time tv in the 90's).

It was a couple of hours later, and I was actually getting ready for my date with Levi, which I was really excited about, as this was the first proper date that I was going on, (I had been asked before, but I didn't want to go with who asked me), plus it was Levi, I actually really really liked him, I wasn't like really really worried about it, but I did have those first date jitters, (which wasn't fun let me tell ya).

"You feeling ok Sweetheart?"
"Yeah Granbob, it's just first date jitters is all"
"You'll be fine, he asked you, and if he knew you as well you claim that he does, he would know that you don't want anything to high key yet"
"How did you get so wise"
"I've been 'round the block awhile"
"Age doesn't necessarily mean wisdom Granbob"
"Are you purposely being a little shit about this?"
"Nah, that's just my natural being"
"Alright so, I'll make you another cuppa when you're ready"
"Thank you"

So when I was finished getting ready, I went downstairs and Granbob had actually had the cuppa ready for me, which was great as I really needed that cuppa, (the first date jitters were really getting to me).

"Thanks Granbob"
"You're welcome Kiddo, do you want anything to eat before you go?"
"No thanks, I think I'd throw it up again if I did eat before I went out"
"Good to know, let me know if you change your mind"
"Ok Grandbob"
