Shut up.
"Shouldn't you be in a classroom far away from where we are?"
"What right do you have to enquire for an answer from yours truly?"
Just please, clamp your mouths.
"We were having a decent conversation until you arrived."
"She looked like she was escaping from you, did she not? What part of that can we deem as decent?"
You rolled your eyes as they bickered. They were like two children arguing for who's going to take what, or in this scenario, who.
For some reason, getting caught up in this mess had resulted in your migraine slowly, yet steadily, going away. It was weird, that much was certain. However, you didn't dwell on it that much. What mattered was that you were not suffering anymore and you were now able to think without your head pounding so much. Hopefully, you'd be able to think of something aside from defenestrating yourself- as much as it did indeed sound quite appealing.
You clicked your tongue, the sound unheard over their quarreling. "Hey," you commenced, jaw taut as you fought your hardest not to bellow at these two, not finding it ideal to have the people outside be intrigued by what was happening behind closed doors. The grave tone of your voice was enough to silence them both, with the purple-hued male masking his excitement at the sound of your domineering cadency.
If you knew that this would work in zipping their lips, you would've done so minutes ago. And like what had been stated prior, due to you not expecting that you would even be heard at all, you were at lost at what to say; your face slightly morphing into astonishment before hastily overlaying it all up with a visage that hollered indifference.
"Don't you lot have something better to do other than this? If I didn't know any better, I would've assumed that you both are nothing but an inerudite waste of oxygen." They were silent for a while, and you wondered if you came off as foolish in front of their optics for even embarking on pulling the plug on their nonsense.
It took some moments, but Yukio was the first one to break it. "I apologize for that, my dearest. I've shown you a side of me that I've not been the proudest of," his mouth was curled into a frown and even if he tried to appear as a kicked puppy, you would've desired nothing more than being the one who had inflicted the pain upon him- but of course, not if he was an actual whelp. You didn't condone animal violence.
"As if you have a side that one will be rhapsodical to be endowed with," you rolled your eyes, and comparable to what you'd anticipated, Yukio was not, even in the slightest bit, perturbed by your conspicuous jab at his character. In fact, he seemed to be in bliss due to it and in turn, you were the one who was unsettled in the stand of his place.
"Can you, perchance, bring an end to that merry look on your face? It's creeping me out," and for once in your life, you agreed with what Kozan had to say. Yet before another argument had broken through, he had said something that piqued your interest. Kozan had a smug veil on, essentially like he already was mindful as to what your attitude would be apropos of his next sentence.
"You felt it too, right, Y/n? The ghastly feel of time spooling back?"
"What are you on now, you fool?"
Speaking right after Yukio did was your plan, yet it was cut short when the nurse had suddenly appeared. Of all times you needed her, she just had to jump in when her presence wasn't at all required. Couldn't she've done so moments back when you were akin to a turtle, doubling over in pain because of the extremity brought by your migraine?
"Oh! I am admittedly sorry since my absence took so long. What can I help you trio with?" And Kozan righted himself first before heading towards the door, paying no heed to the presence of the nurse, which was something that you'd envisioned for him to do. Of course, he was now going to use your curiosity against you. And as much as it had ached you to say this, whatever his plan was, it was insidiously working. You just didn't predict him not to even give a passing glance at the attendant, like, didn't he have this 'princely' act going on?
"Go to my residence if you desire to do so. But taking into account your reaction from earlier, I take it that it won't take long," he flashed you a demeaning simper of his own before completely leaving the vicinity. He looked like he had won, and just out of spite, you wanted to throw his proposition in a ditch. But it was too specific, too into detail for everything he'd uttered to be labeled as a bluff.
Well, he didn't say anything about you being prohibited to bring someone else with you, did he?
"You're not actually contemplating over whether you're going to accept his offer or not, hm?" Yukio interrogated. "What's it to you?" You were next in line for standing up. "I'm your fiancee-" "Not yet." "And it would be careless of me to leave you in the hands of another man other than myself, right?"
'Man? More like boys,' you dryly humored inside your head. "I'm not a 'thing' where my owner will decide whether it'll be alright if another one is to have their hands on me," and the nurse looked between you two, with the renowned brunette trailing after you whilst he reasoned out and provided a counter for your statement.
Then, the thump of the door closing reached her ears, the skin between her eyebrows scrunching up as she tilted her head curiously. Even if she was alone, she still mumbled out this one word in a questioning manner,
"Guys?"
.
.
"So, you're telling me that your father requests, no, demands to meet your faux significant other, and right after that, Jiryu proposed on helping you out, and next you plan on meeting up with Kozan in his estate?" Kane asked you incredulously. You groaned as you buried your face that was cupped by the palm of your hands. Everything was too hectic for your tastes, but what could you do? You couldn't just be the 'always-lazing-around-Y/n' 'cause look where that had brought you to.
The wind was caressing your entire form, with your bum on the familiar wooden seat as you and your best friend decided to squander some time on your favorite hang-out spot which was lamely the bench on the more discreet part of the school grounds.
"I- I pity you, Y/n." And while you were aware that there was no hidden ill-intent behind her words, it still stung for it was true. Heck, even you, yourself, pitied you- and that, in itself, spoke in volumes.
Kane, who was still playing with your hair who was also seated beside you, heaved out a sigh, like she herself was suffering just by seeing you like this.
And in all honesty, she was.
If she could do anything to somehow alleviate the burden that was placed atop your shoulders, she would accomplish so without a hitch. You were someone dear to her, someone she would be more than glad to spend her leisure time with, someone who she couldn't stomach seeing looking so downhearted.
She just loved you so much she found it undermining for her to transfer it into coherent terms.
"Don't worry, I do so as well," you grunted as you used her shoulder as a pillow for you to lean on. It was comfortable, and if you could just stay like this for all eternity without having to be at your wit's end every single day in fear of being given another set of predicaments and dilemmas for you to wriggle your way through, you would.
If only life was that easy.
"Tell you what, if you do plan on going to Kozan's, just tell me and I'll be with you. Right now, that's the only thing I can think of to actually assist you with," Kane sighed one more time.
"You'd do that for me?"
"Are you a dumbass? Of course! I've always received bad signals from that boy and just imagining you alone with him doesn't exactly bring the best thoughts," she replied with a pat to your head as an act to reassure you.
You weren't the overly-affectionate type as a friend, but with Kane, ah, she was your only saving grace at this point (aside from your father which was gradually growing bleaker) and you wanted to show her gratitude to her for sticking by your side all this time.
"Kane, I love you."
"I love you too, Y/n, so don't be afraid to depend on me, alright?"
Kane wanted you to depend on her in spite of how powerless she was as of the moment; depend on her like she was the only person who you knew of. She yearned for you to rely on her although it might seem like she had no control of the situation you were in. If only she had a schlong between her legs, then maybe she'd be provided with more power as a male and she would actually be able to you out of the tight spot you were in right now.
...If only you realized the deeper meaning of her 'I love you'.
