The thing with people like us is

We don't tend to trust others

Because we have been hurt before

In fact, there are times when we don't even trust ourselves.

We are human after all

We make mistakes... Stupid ones at times...

And I thought I was making one

When I started to fall for you

I didn't trust you...

I didn't trust myself...

And you changed that

You told me that you wouldn't hurt me

But I had heard that from people that had hurt me before.

You told me that you would love me

At my highest and lowest points

But people had told me that as well

Before they crushed my spirit and left me all alone.

But you weren't them.

You were you.

You didn't just say all those things

You proved them to me.

You were there during my highest and my lowest points

You didn't make fun of the way I felt

You didn't hurt me...

You taught me how to trust myself again.

You taught me how to trust you.

And I swear to God

Every time something went wrong

And I started to doubt myself and my decisions

You were patient with me, every single time

And when you taught me to trust myself...

I fell for you all over again...
