This ship is one of the earliest ships and was most popular in the first book. Dex's crush on Sophie is undeniable and no secret, except to Sophie, who is once again oblivious. The two are probably the closest of all the characters in the series because of their friendship. Dex's loyalty to Sophie creates a base for a good relationship as maybe more than best friends.

A problem with this ship is that Dex is considered Sophie's cousin. Though it is an adoptive cousinship, it is a fact that is argued often.

The ship was essentially put to rest after "Nightfall", the sixth book in the series.
