The morning classes just ended and it's time for us to eat lunch. I grab my lunch from my bag and was about to eat when Natsuki appeared and stand up in front of me. I look up at her and gave her a small smile.

"Hey, here's your bento box by the way." She said giving it to me.

"Oh, thanks." I said.

I took it from her hands and put it inside my bag, she then gave me a smile and walks away, exiting the classroom. I then went back from eating and after that I head outside the classroom to go around for walk. There are many students that I pass by who are having a nice conversation with each other. Then I saw someone in the halls who is familiar to me, it was one of the two bullies from yesterday. Seeing this, I began to panic inside and decided to turn around and walk back. When I did, I look at the distance to see that he isn't following me, I later let out a heavy sigh.

Then someone appeared which really startled me, taking a few steps back I look at the person to see it was a boy. He had rusty red hair and purple eyes and he wears glasses. He seems to be an ordinary civilian and not studying in this school because of the attire he is wearing.

"Uh, excuse me?" He said.

"Please don't startle me like that." I said holding my chest.

"I deeply apologize for that, but can I ask which way is to the principal's office?" He asked.

"Oh, um. Just go down the nearest stairs from here then take a left, then left again." I said.

"I see, thanks for the help! See ya!" He said before walking off.

I sigh at this and continue to walk, my head facing down. There's nothing for me to do at the meantime so I should just probably take a walk right now. Suddenly a girl with long purple hair and purple eyes, approaches me, she had a worried expression plastered on her face which made me curious.

"Do you need anything?" I asked.

"Excuse me, um, have you seen someone wearing casual clothes around here?" She asked in a timid voice.

"You mean the guy who has red hair and wears glasses?" I said.

"Yes, that's him."

"I saw him just now, he is about to head downstairs to the the principal's office." I said.

"Okay, thanks for letting me know." She said bowing slightly then run past me.

Half an hour later, it was finally time for us to go back to our classroom and continue our classes. I head back to my classroom and sat down on my seat. Class was boring, like always, and also stressful. I'm glad I'm able to make it out alive, I forgot that I am one of the assigned people to clean to classroom so I just sighed and grab a broom. I guess I'll be a bit late on appearing in the club.

After about five minutes of sweeping, it's now time for me to head out and go to the club. I grab my stuff and head towards the club, later I appeared in front of the door that has the word 1-B on it. I took a deep breath then let it all out and mentally prepared myself. Knocking on the door two times, I began to hear muffled voices from the other side and footsteps getting louder.

Then, the door opens to see Sayori giving me a smile.

"Yay! You came!" She said before hugging me.

"Uh Sayori, not in public." I said getting embarrassed.

"Y/N! Didn't know you're here." The familiar girl with brown hair that is tied into a ponytail with a white bow said.

"Oh, uhh... Been a while, Monika." I said.

"So Sayori, is he the one that you kept talking about?" Monika asked.

Sayori finally let go of me and face the girl.

"Yes! He's also going to be our newest member in the club!" Sayori said.

"Really? That's great! How about we discuss more inside the club room?" She said.

"Err, sure.." Sayori then began dragging me inside to which I almost fell on the floor.

"Sayori, at least learn to be more considerate." I said to her.

"Sorry, I'm just so excited I couldn't help it." She said.

"Welcome to the Literature Club." The girl with purple hair said giving me a smile.

"Wait, are you that girl from before?" I ask pointing at her.

"Hm? Are you perhaps the boy I talked to this noon?" She asked.

"Ah, yes. That's me, I'm Y/N by the way." I said.

"My name's Yuri, nice to meet you." She said.

"Oh, hey Y/N! Didn't know you'll be joining our club as well." Natsuki appeared and stood beside the tall girl.

"Natsuki, you know each other?!" Sayori asked.

"Yep, he's currently in the same class as I am." She said.

"Sooo, I'm the only male here..." I said.

"Indeed you are. What a lucky man you are, right?!" Sayori hugged me from behind.

"Please no." I said.

"How about we introduce ourselves one more time, shall we? That way our new member here will feel more comfortable with us." Monika said holding her hands together.

"Okay, then! I'll do the talking." Sayori let go of me and smiled.

After Sayori finishes introducing everyone to me, I then found out that Monika was the president of the club. I've always thought she was part of another club which is the Debate Club, I wonder why she quit.

"Now that is done, it's your turn to introduce yourself to us!" Monika said.

"A-all right... Well, my name is Y/N. I'm only a normal high school student, probably less than normal that doesn't know what he will do in the future. There's nothing special about me and I don't have any talent. I like reading different kinds of books from novels, mangas and other stuff. I'm mostly known in here by the word coward." I said in a direct and bland way while looking away from them.

Everyone in the room went silent.

I guess I went a little bit too far there.

I'm such an idiot.

They shouldn't know about that yet, especially Sayori.

What will she think of me, now? That her best friend is the coward of the school.

I got so deep in thought that I didn't noticed Natsuki waving her hand in front of me.

"Hey! Can you hear us?" She said in a rather irritated way.

"Oh, uh. Yeah, sorry. I went a little bit too far on the last one, you guys can laugh at me if you want." I said sighing.

"It's fine, plus why would we laugh at you for something like that? We're a club that does stuff about literature, not a club that judges people by their reputation and stuff. Now that's all done, we should prepare the chairs and table now." Monika stated.

The four of them then move the desks to dorm a table. I help them arrange it by arranging the chairs.

"I'll get the cupcakes!" Sayori said.

"Hey! I made them, I'll get them!" Natsuki said to her.

"Oh, sorry! I guess I got a little excited there. Hehe." Sayori began to laugh awkwardly.

"I'll go make some tea for us then." Yuri said going to the closet and opening it.

Natsuki came back with a wrapped tray and place it on the table. I then sat on a chair that is beside Monika and Sayori.

"Here are the cupcakes! Ta-da!" Natsuki then removes the foil that is wrapping the tray to show a dozen white, fluffy cupcakes decorated to look like little cats.

"Woooaahh!!" Sayori gazes at the cupcakes in amazement.

"I didn't know that you can bake." I said grabbing one.

I observed the cupcake in my hand and then slowly took a bite. Once my tongue tasted it, I couldn't help but smile widely.

"And you're good at it too. I liked it." I said.

"Really?" Natsuki looks at me.

"As expected from our Natsuki here. Not only is she cute, but also talented!" Monika said with a smile.

"That's right, I am- wait, did you just call me cute?!" Natsuki glares at Monika.

"The tea is ready!" Yuri then place five cups on the table and pour them with hot tea.

"Sayori! Don't eat all the cookies! We still haven't eaten them yet!" Natsuki said.

She then began to talk to her with her mouth full. I couldn't help but sigh and let out a small smile.

"(I guess joining this club isn't so bad after all.)"
