Chapter 2
I woke up the next rather early, specifically, I woke up at five in the morning for no absolute reason. Wanting to sleep again, I closed my eyes and make myself comfortable in bed. But, I can't.
I suddenly lost the sleepiness in me.
Sitting up and placing my face on my palm, I sigh. I look out the window to see that the sun is about to rise, wondering what to do at the moment, I stand up and head my way outside of my bedroom. The whole place was quiet, really quiet, it was scary to say the least. I walk down the stairs and head to the kitchen, my hand finding the light switch and turning it on. I go grab a glass and filled it with water, then drinking it all in one go. Placing the glass in the sink I enter inside the living room and sit down on the couch.
"(What should I do right now?)" Were the words repeating in my mind.
Thinking about what should I do, I stand up from the couch and head upstairs to my room to get change. I got in my casual attire and wore my shoes, I walk back down and open the front door. When I got outside, I could feel the wind being colder than usual, this made me feel refreshed and I close the door. I walk around the neighborhood with the lampposts still on, the sound of the crickets can still be heard.
I stopped in front of my childhood friend's house, looking at the structure, I noticed that a part where the left window in the second floor is has the light on. It was Sayori's room that has the light on. Wondering if she is awake, I searched for a tiny rock that way I won't break the window. Once I did, I throw it at the window and it hit. About seconds later, the window opens and I could see Sayori there. She looks around for a second until her eyes gazed at me. I awkwardly waved my hand at her and she waved back, she gestured for me to come closer so I walk closer and looked up.
"What are you doing there?" She whisper shouted.
"Just taking a walk." I responded.
"Walk? It's so early in the morning." She said.
"That's why I'm taking a walk." I said.
"That doesn't make any sense." She said.
"Can I come inside? It's hard for me to talk with you like this." I said.
"Wait for me by the front door." She said before closing the window and the lights went off.
I did what she said and now I'm standing in front of her door, her parents are working out of the country so she can do anything she want around the house. After I waited for a minute, I could hear some shuffling from behind this door and the lock unlocking. It then opens to see Sayori in her normal attire.
"Get inside, some strangers are probably lurking around here and might kidnap you." She giggled afterwards.
"I can handle them alone." I said entering.
I probably can't, because of how I'm a weakling. There goes my pride as a man. The lights inside the living room was on and she sat on her couch, patting the space beside her gesturing me to sit with her. I approached her and sat beside her.
"So, uh. How are you?" I asked looking at her.
"Fine, how about you?" I asked.
"I'm doing all right, are you gonna tell me why are you awake this early?" I asked.
"Not unless you tell me your reason first!" She playfully said.
"Okay then. I suddenly woke up and couldn't go back to sleep, so I decided to go out and have walk around the neighborhood until I noticed your lights in your room was on and now we're here. Now, what's your reason?" I said.
"Well, I uh.. woke up and couldn't sleep as well. And just stayed inside my room hugging Mr. Cow until I heard something hit my window here we are." She said.
"Hm, got anything to do right now?" I asked.
"Don't know, how about we tell each other what happened duringpur first day in school?" She asked.
"Sure, I guess. Who's first?" I asked.
"You." She smiled.
"All right then, well it was pretty boring actually. Are you sure you want to hear it?" I look at her.
"Of course I'm sure! No matter how boring it is, I wanna hear it!" She said.
"Okay, after we parted ways, I got inside the classroom where I need to be and sat down. About a few minutes later I met this girl who is my classmate and noticed that something's wrong with her, but I didn't bother asking and just remained quiet. After the boring class, I have lunch inside the classroom and noticed the girl from before is just sitting beside. I found out that she didn't have her lunch so I gave her mine and we eventually introduced each other. And the rest, meh. Just boring classes again." I finished.
"Woah! You finally made a new friend! I'm so happy for you!" Sayori then proceeds to hug me.
"We only introduced each other and that's it. And come on, you're making it sound like I don't have any friends." I said.
Which I really don't.
"You have me of course! We are always besties!" She said grinning at me.
"Yeah, yeah I know that." I said.
She lets go of me and clears her throat.
"Now it's time for me to tell you my story! So listen carefully!" She said.
"I'm all ears." I said with a smile.
"Okay so, after we parted ways yesterday, a classmate of mine asked me if I want to join a club. She tells me what's the club about and after that I said yes! Then I realized that I was the second member of that club so I became vice president! So I met up with her at lunch to look for more members and we eventually got two more members!" She said.
"You joined a club? That's cool." I said.
"It is! Oh! And I forgot to ask you this yesterday but, can you join our club?!" She asked.
"E-er why?" I asked.
"So we can have more members! And trust me it's going to be fun!" She said.
"What is this club about anyway?" I asked.
"It's a Literature Club! Come on, please join! I already had my friend bake cupcakes!" She kneels down in front of me and begs.
"Why are you so eager to let me join your club? Not to mention, literature." I said.
"But I know you read many kinds of novels and other kinds of books! It's the perfect club for you!" She said while giving me those cute eyes that she uses to make me get what she wants.
"Okay! Okay! I'll join your club, stop looking at me like that." I said looking away.
"Yehey! You have to keep your word all right? Now you're an official member of the Literature Club!" She said standing up.
"I hate you for this." I said.
"Anyway, since it's almost six now, you should probably head back to your house and get ready for school. Also, the club room is at room 1-B! I can't wait for you to meet the other members!" She said.
"No need to be excited, sheesh. I'll take my leave now. Meet me outside my house if you want us to walk to school together." I said standing up from my seat and walking towards the door then opening it.
"Okay! See ya!" She waves.
I wave back and exit her house, closing the door. I walk out of her front yard and head my way to my house. Once I got inside my house I began to cook my breakfast and lunch and place it in my bento box, which is a different one because the other is at Natsuki. After eating breakfast, I took a shower and got in my uniform. Fixing my stuff and then wearing my shoes, I look at the clock which was hanging on the wall and saw that it's only been fifty minutes since I started cooking my food. Once I'm done, I head outside and saw that Sayori isn't there, she must've head her way to school now.
I began walking my way to school with my head looking down like always, after about a minute of walking someone called my name.
"Y/N!! Wait for me!!" I look back to see Sayori.
I stopped walking and let her catch up to me. She stops in front of me panting, after she recovered she stands up properly and glares at me.
"I thought you told me that you'll wait for me outside your house?!" She said.
"S-sorry, I thought you already left, so I began heading my way." I said chuckling awkwardly.
"You know that I won't leave you behind! Anyway, let's go! Don't forget to go to the club room after school, okay?" She asked.
"I won't, let's go." I said.
The two of us began walking our way to school with Sayori. With her around, it helps me feel a bit happy just by seeing her smile. While we walk our way to school, there's one sentence that I have in kind.
"(Is it a good idea for me to join the Literature Club?)"
