🔵 Chapter 17 🔵
[Halilintar's POV]
Grunting, I took off my cap as I tried to fix my messy hair. Our faces looked all crummy right now because of that skydiving the airhead had planned on doing. Also, it's my first time experiencing a skydive, and I'm not all screaming and whining as we fall, except for airhead who's actually shivering at the moment.
<Flashback>
"Are you two ready?" The skydiver instructor asked, making my head nod impassively, while airhead only showed signs of anxiousness.
"Okay! Ready or not, have fun!" As the instructor pushed both of us, we felt the sudden pull of gravity downwards, making us fall freely from the sky.
"AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!" The airhead yelled, his whole body trembling. "I DON'T WANNA DO THIS ANYMOOORRREEEEEEEE!-"
"Idiot! You're the one who suggested it in your so-called 'bucket list' in the first place!"
"I didn't know it was gonna be this scary!- AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!" He screamed, my teeth gritted as I thought of different possibilities that might happened to him while we're free-falling.
"WE'RE GONNA DIE!"
I only sighed in exasperation, as I made my way towards the airhead in case he would pass out in the middle of the skydive. I grabbed his arm, his attention then turned to me, his eyes filled with nothing but fear. I could feel him trembling, making me grip on his arm tightly.
"AIRHEAD, CALM THE FREAK DOWN FOR THE LOVE OF- GOSH!" I exclaimed, with my bloodshot eyes glaring at him. "YOU'RE NOT GOING TO DIE! YOU SAID YOU LIKE THE BREEZE, DON'T YOU?!"
"IT'S NOT THE SAME! THIS IS A FEELING LIKE I'M CLOSE TO GETTING BURIED DOWN MY GRAVE! I'M GONNA DIE HERE, HALI!"
"IF YOU ARE, THEN I'LL BE THERE TO SAVE YOU! IDIOT, JUST STOP PANICKING!"
Then, in just that particular moment, his cerulean eyes sparked, his expression changed as well. Everything just became... serene, and went on slow-motion. Then, I saw one of his hand, slowly moving his blue mask down from his face.
"You'll... be there? To save me...?" He asked, staring at me in disbelief.
"Yes! I'll freaking save you, airhead!" I emphasised once more, my face looking all resentful towards the airhead. "Whatever freaking happens, I'll take that bullet from you!"
The airhead only opened his mouth slightly, still dumbfounded by what I said. I sighed deeply once more, pulling him closer to me and held his blue mask that was slid down beneath his chin, carefully putting it back where it usually was. Now that I covered him with his mask, I pursed my lips as I looked at him with his blue mask that usually covers half of his face, before glancing down and realized, we need to use our parachute at this point.
"Airhead, it's time for us to use our parachutes." I reminded, as I gripped onto the strap to pull it down so I could chute. But before I do, I glanced once more to the airhead, giving him a reassuring look.
"Also, you don't need to be afraid. If you want to enjoy this moment, start chuting and seize it. Don't waste it."
That's when both of us started gliding using our parachutes, and not long after, made our way down to the ground unharmed.

Glancing at the airhead beside me, I could still feel him shaking uncontrollably, with both of his eyes staring blankly on the ground as we casually walk around the amusement park. I guess he's still traumatised about that 'fun' event. It would honestly be a waste if he didn't even at least, appreciate this awaited moment for him.
He'd been longing to do all these activities written in his 'bucket list' ever since we met. Yet, he couldn't even savor every one of it. Well, I think maybe it's about that skydiving we had few moments ago, and I hope it's just that one activity he thought of never doing again.
Looking up at the sky, I noticed how it's slowly becoming light orange, meaning the sun's about to set anytime now. How fast is the time anyway? Well, we need to go home before night falls.
"Come on, airhead. Let's go home before your grandma starts to worry." I stated, as I started to walk towards the exit of the amusement park.
I turned to look back at him to check and see if he followed me, but he didn't. His feet stayed rooted on the ground, not even moving an inch. One of his hands were clasped on his other arm, with his head still lowered down.
'What now...?' I thought, grumbling while making my way towards the airhead.
But as soon as I got closer, his head suddenly looked up, his cyan-blue eyes staring at my rubescent eyes as if, he was astounded by something. I then felt an inducing yet pleasant aura coming from him, making my eyes widened in surprise as a result.
"I'm glad!" He exclaimed, looking at me with his beaming eyes as our surroundings shone brighter.
I stared at him in confusion, wondering why he mentioned those two words. Not to mention, he was just shivering a minute ago. Now, he's suddenly feeling all jubilant out of nowhere.
"What do you me-"
"I'm so glad to have you as my friend!" He exclaimed once more, causing me to blush in embarrassment from his response.
Can anyone please stop this idiot?! This freaking airhead! He's spouting nonsense things in public just like that!
"O-Oi! What- Why are you-"
"And I'm saying this proudly, and wholeheartedly!" He added, before chuckling vigorously.
I quickly looked around my surroundings, and noticed some people were snickering, smiling, and in awe, and it's because of this airhead's stupidity! My face was still red from blushing, and I can't believe I'm in this embarrassing situation. Oh, how I want to smack his head after we get home.
"Ah, did you just say we need to go home? Okay! Let's go!~" The blue masked idiot chirped, skipping all the way to the exit like just nothing happened.
Feeling all flustered and irritated, I immediately followed the airhead from behind, trying to avoid the nosy bystanders around me and left the amusement park.
<<>><<>><<>>
"Let's skydive again someday!" The blue masked idiot cheerfully said, letting out a slight chuckle.
'So, he did enjoyed it afterall...' I thought, making me raise one of my eyebrows.
"Tch, now you're being all doughty, you hypocritic dimwit!?" I growled, pinching one of his ear and dragged him while going home.
The airhead shrieked. "O-Ow! S-Stop, Hali! I-It hurts!"
"Stop whining and start walking, idiot."
"B-But you're dragging me-"
"Walk."
The airhead didn't respond furthermore and started walking beside me. Then, I let go of his now reddish ear, making him hold it while mumbling inaudible things I couldn't quite hear. I just shrugged it off and continued my way to the airhead's house.
"Hey, Hali?" The idiot suddenly called, causing my head to turn to him with an annoyed look.
"What do you want now-"
"I just... want to ask why you suddenly said those things to me." He stated, while scratching the back of his head. "Back when we were skydiving earlier." He added, his eyes then looked straightly at me, waiting for my response.
"I..." I bit my lower lip, and glanced on the opposite side. "Well... I made a promise..." I calmly replied, feeling the gentle wind swept through my hair.
"Take care of Fan-Fan, okay?"
After responding, I couldn't help but to remember those few words his grandmother just mentioned. I don't know why, but I just feel like I have to carry this hefty responsibility to look after the airhead. Afterall, his parents are gone, and his grandmother is getting older day by day.
Not to mention, his twin brother, Duri, often hangs out with him, and that he also has some things he wanted to do on his own. Because of it, these thoughts left the airhead all alone. I guess, only I can company and keep up with this airhead, and make sure he gets all the fun he's been yearning for.
"To whom?"
"It's none of your business." I spat.
"Aw, come on! You always say that whenever I would ask a question!"
"Like I said, it's none of your business, airhead."
"Hmph!" The displeased idiot huffed, as he crossed his arms on his chest and I can tell that he's currently pouting, which made me snort from his inane actions. "Anyways, guess what? We're about to do two things tomorrow!"
'Hm, changing the topic now, airhead?' I thought, before rolling my eyes.
"We're gonna go to a beach and do some scuba diving tomorrow!" He stated, his voice filled with eagerness and enthusiasm.
I sighed deeply, shaking my head slightly afterwards. "If you want to do those activities tomorrow, then we should get plenty of rest for the night. Afterall, I'm tired with all the stuffs we did today."
"Yeah, I agree..."
[End of POV]
<<>><<>><<>>
"Hey Hali!~ Hope you didn't forget your swimming attire!" Taufan reminded, laughing cheekily as he slung his small backpack over his shoulders.
"Of course I didn't, you idiot!" Halilintar retorted, gritting his teeth. "Geez, you're giving me a headache early in the morning!"
"Says the one who slept late last night!~"
"Oh, shut up, you airhead!"
While walking to their next journey- which is the beach, the two teenagers kept on squabbling, with most of their topics were practically getting out of nowhere. The boy wearing the blue mask kept on laughing, whilst the other kept on exclaiming. Their quarrels went on and on, until they'd finally reached their destination.
Even though they had already arrived, they were still bickering, like two siblings fighting over which one of them will take the front passenger seat from the car.
"Tch! Idiot! Sharks don't sleep!" The lightning elemental responded.
"They do! You can search it from Mr. Google!" The wind elemental on the other hand, debated.
"How am I supposed to search if I don't even have any internet or data for it?!"
"Well, ask the experts then! I'm not even a 'sharkologists' to begin with!"
"It's called 'selachologist', stupid!"
"Oh...! So that's what it's called..." Taufan looked up in realization.
"Airhead, our Science teacher just discussed that not long ago!"
"Well, sorry!~ I couldn't remember it anymore! You know what they say, 'past is in the past'." The blue-masked teen emphasised, chuckling lightly afterwards.
"But that past should be remembered because there will be a time that it will also be included in some of our exams in the future!"
"Not anymore!~ We just had our exams so, it's definitely fine if we'll be forgetting all about that!" Taufan reassured, as he grinned behind his blue mask. "Afterall, I'm not even going to be a sharkologist-"
"'Selachologist'." The expressionless boy bluntly corrected.
"'Selachologist', in the future!" Taufan stated, shrugging his shoulders. "Wait a minute, why are we even talking about those stuffs? Come on! Let's go and swim!"
Without warning, Taufan immediately grabbed one of Halilintar's arms and sprinted towards the beach, with the latter getting dragged instead of running with him.
"Idiot! Let me go!"
"You're such a killjoy, grumpy old man."
"What did you say?!"
Moments later, the two teenagers found a good spot to set their things down, with the wind elemental lying his body down freely on the sandy shore. He heaved a deep sigh, his eyes closing while feeling the breezy wind of the spring season. Halilintar only looked at him in a deadpan manner.
"Do you want to swim, or are you just gonna lay down there like a dead person and wait for the police to arrive just to make an outline of your body using a seashell?" The impatient lad spat, with his arms crossed on his chest.
"Alright, alright! I'm getting up now, see?"
<<>><<>><<>>
The sound of waves splashing. The clean cerulean-colored water glimmering. Just the right amount of sunlight shining from the clear blue sky. The whistling and shuffling sound of sand after being step on it. The perfect combination of the scenery when one's relaxing on the beach.
Seemingly, the two boys were having the time of their lives. No one can deny the fact that it's enjoyable for spending your vacation on some rarely-occurred trips like this. Be it challenging one another for spurting waves of water from each other, a battle of having the sturdiest and well-built sandcastle, timing how long they could last for holding their breath in the water, and last but not the least, collecting some unique, various of seashells just for keeping it as their very own souvenir and as a remembrance as well.
Meanwhile with Halilintar, he just hated to admit the fact that he indeed had fun for today. But being a tsundere guy as he is, he'd only just kept it to himself and didn't like Taufan to know about it. But the latter knew, even if he doesn't want to confess it, he knew his friend enjoyed their time together.
"Well," Taufan uttered, letting out an airy laugh as he put a towel around his neck. "That was fun!" He beamed, before wiping his face off with his towel.
Halilintar only hummed in agreement, drying off his hair using his own towel as well. "I believe we're not done yet, are we?" He asked, facing him with a glazed look as if, he's impassive of what's the next plan they're going to do afterwards.
But deep inside, he honestly wants to do more adventurous activities with Taufan.
====================================================
Then here goes another 2 months of procastination. I really apologise for it. 😔🙏
