🔵 Chapter 10 🔵
[Halilintar's POV]
Last night, I truly couldn't sleep at all. I feel like I stayed up all night, trying to accept the fact that everything in my life would always remain the same. The fight between my parents, every gossips and backstabs my schoolmates been whispering behind me, and the choice to just, end my journey already... right here, right now.
It's hard to just... let it go, especially when you're experiencing that same, annoying, and tiring situation everyday. It's like, you're the one who has been chosen to suffer in all your life. It's like, you're just a person who's worthless, and insignificant to everyone's eyes.
That's what everyone thinks of me. A nobody. A negligible, piece of junk. If there's anything I want to say out loud, then hear me say this.
I'm sorry, if I'm different. I'm sorry, if I look like someone you couldn't trust. I'm sorry, if I look scary. I'm sorry, if I act too harsh and ruthless. I'm sorry for not being a perfect person you wanted me to be. I'm sorry, if I was ever born in this world. I'm sorry, for being that someone who'll give you nightmares. I'm sorry, for existing.
What else do you want me to apologise for? Was everything I said not enough for your satisfaction? Do you think I didn't mean every single thing I said?
Sometimes, you'll find me weird enough, talking to myself like that. I'm used to it, so just get over it. Who does not speak to his or her own self anyway?
I'm currently here in the boy's restroom, washing my face to keep me from dozing off while attending my classes. After I'm done, my head then slowly looked up to the mirror infront of me, making my rubescent eyes throw daggers at that person whom I've been staring to: Myself.
I wished for that figure to disappear in this world. I don't want that person to live. I hoped for that person to end his life.
"You're weak! You're nothing! You're impotent! You hear me?! Just die! It's not like you're important in this world anyway!"
"But, you're important to me."
My eyes suddenly shot wide open, hearing that familiar voice from inside my head. That airhead... Did he... Did I just... Was he...
I looked back once again at the mirror, and what I saw made my eyes opened wider. I saw the airhead's reflection from the mirror, with his eyes genuinely smiling at me. I immediately turned my head to glance behind me, but he wasn't even there.
Nobody was.
Am I seeing things right now? Am I hallucinating? Why did I suddenly caught a glimpse of him in my head? Does he even exist? Don't tell me I'm actually talking to a ghost all along!
Honestly, that just gave me the chills...
Shaking my head, I exited the restroom, returning back to my classroom afterwards. When I reached the hallway, I paused when I saw the airhead again (and yes, he's real. A real human being, not the ghostly figured one), and immediately hid behind a wall because of the thought of him, going all wild again when he's with me. But, he wasn't alone... and I've witnessed something with my own eyes, and that scene totally shocked me.
"HAHAHAHAHA! LOOK! IT'S 'GRANDPA' AGAIN!"
"Do you need a hand, grandpa? HAHAHAHAHAHA!"
Two of my schoolmates, bullying the airhead, while the latter just stood there, with shadows covering his eyes. He was only looking down, trying to resist our schoolmates' brazen teases. Not for long, he started walking away, leaving the sneering bullies behind as he faced onto my direction.
"Where you going now, Grandpa? What if you got lost?~ HAHAHAHAHA!"
"HAHAHAHAHA! GRANDPA!~ GRANDPA!~"
As soon as he started walking towards my direction, I immediately went back to our classroom, and sat down on my seat. My mind just kept recalling what had happened earlier, and when I do, I could feel my heart sinking slowly inside me. I felt... pity... for him?
But what can I do? It's not my problem! He can face it all by himself! He doesn't need my help! He can handle it alone!
"Hi, Hali!~" The airhead out of nowhere, greeted me with his smiling eyes and his hand slightly waving.
I only frowned at him. Why is he so cheerful despite the incident from earlier? It's like, nothing serious just happened to him. He's trying to keep it from himself. Why are you hiding about it, you airhead...?
"Hm. Ya know, Hali? I think we should fix your 'greeting back' manner too! You never greeted me back ever since we became friends, and that's just plainly rude!" The blue-masked idiot playfully huffed, crossing his arms as he looked away.
"We're not friends." I monotonously remarked, turning my gaze away from him afterwards.
"Hey, you big meanie! You shouldn't be rude like that to your friend!"
"Shut up. You're not my friend."
"Yes, I am! And! Don't forget you're teaching me after school! You agreed yesterday!"
Ah, crap. Why did I forgot about that...? But, I don't want to!
"Can't we just cancel it and do it tomorrow instead?"
"Hey! This IS tomorrow! So, after dismissal, rooftop! 'kay, 'kay? See ya there!" The airhead energetically said, grinning before going to his respective seat. I, on the other hand, only banged my head on my desk, groaning.
But, I still can't get over the thought of why he's only ignoring that bullying incident from earlier. I wonder why...

By the time our final class ended, I went straight to the rooftop right away just to get this stupid tutoring done. When I got up to the place mentioned, the first thing I saw was, the airhead, and his scattered quizzes and math textbook on the floor. The moment he noticed my presence, he beamed, gesturing me to sit next to him to proceed on teaching him.
I sighed deeply, before going to his direction and sit beside him. I set my bad on my side, opening it as I took my notes and pencil out from it. I then randomly flipped the pages of my notebook, facing the airhead afterwards.
"What topics are you struggling with?" I simply asked.
The airhead hummed in thought. "Since our examinations will be held next week before our holiday break starts, I think we should go over the lessons we need to tackle in our exam." He replied.
My jaw dropped from his response. "Wait, are you saying you're having difficulties in all the lessons in Math this term?!" I exclaimed, as I only received a nervous laughter from him.
'I can already feel the pressure and not because of our examinations are near, but because of this airhead's weak-minded head.' I thought, with my teeth clenched angrily.
"I'm sorry for being a slow learner, okay? I just... really wanted to pass this exam! Really!" The brainless idiot reasoned, looking at me with his pleading eyes.
This freaking airhead is giving me multiple headaches already. But after remembering what he'd been through, from his parents' loss, to his unknowingly being a victim of bullies, made me have a second thought. I guess this is the only way I can help him...
"Fine. Do you want me to tutor you at home as well?" I suddenly spoke without hesitation.
The airhead's cerulean eyes widened, shocked by what I said. "W-Wait, y-you're really going to help me?! Even when we're in my house?!" He swiftly questioned, staring at me in disbelief.
"Do you have any other options?" I raised a brow at him. "I assume you don't even ask questions while we're having our Math class, nor even want to ask our teacher some questions because you're shy." I added.
"Okay, okay. You got me." The witless airhead grinned behind his blue mask. "Thank you for doing this for me, Hali." He genuinely said, gazing at me with his eyes smiling.
I only looked away grumpily, flustered while avoiding eye contact with him. "Whatever, airhead." I responded, lowering my cap and flipped the pages of my notebook again.
All of the sudden, I heard the airhead giggled softly, making me look up at him in confusion. "What?" I irritatingly asked.
"Nothing. It's just... I knew, you have a soft side afterall~" He teased, causing me to blush in embarrassment.
"D-Do you want to learn or not?!" I stammered, as I faced him with an annoyed frown.
The airhead chuckled from my response. "I do! It's just, you look so adorable when you're flustered!~" He teased once more.
"S-Shut up! Or I'll whack your face with my notebook!"
"Alright, alright, I'll stop!" He said, letting out an airy laugh and looked up at the blue sky, hugging his knees onto his chest like his life depend on it.
"It's just a tease, okay? You don't need to take it too seriously," He added, and I have a feeling that he's smiling underneath his blue mask.
"Like your own life..."
