Chapter 11

Rearranging chap 11

After wiping down the house and adjusting to the new climate, the pair began training.   William and Alyson stood outside the cabin in hoodies.    William cleared his throat. "So, Alyson, the first lesson you must learn is basic self-defense," the Indian boy said.    He stepped towards her. "The best defensive principle is to dodge blows. But you will quickly get tired if your cardio and muscular strength is not up to par."   Alyson crossed her arms defensively. "Hey, my cardio and strength is fine."    William nodded his head. "Fine, Alyson. Run, not jog, around the premise."   "What do you mean?" Alyson asked.    William sighed and picked up two sticks, he jogged to the first cabin and planted the stick. He ran back to the second cabin and plunged the stick into the earth.    "Alyson, run between the two sticks as many times as you can," William explained.   Alyson shrugged and ran to the first stick and jogged back the second. She back forth until she could feel her lungs begging her to stop.   "Okay," she gasped. "I've gotta stop."    William shook his head. "That was pathetic," he reprimanded. "That was only 5 laps. I could do 30 laps, the average girl your age should be able to do 10."   Alyson knees sunk to the dirt. "But. I'm. So. Tired." She gasped between each word.   "Get up, we must train. There are dangers out there and we must prepare."   Alyson stated at him silently. Did she really want to trust him and just do whatever he said? She remembered her father and said, "Alright."
