*(Y/N) POV, two days after battle of Gran Crevasse*

After our return to still somehow standing Mistilteinn we started to organize things. Every adult that was living in the City died when that giant hand crushed our plantation, or due to being exposed to outside world. Currently I was checking every FranXX on the outside, searching for any damage. Heliconia was alright, and to my surprise she still had her robe and hood on, same as Strelitzia was still red. I continue my checkup while listing any damage and parts needed to repair it. 

(Y/N): "Conia is alright, as well as Litzia, Delphi got some armor damage, mostly to her head and hat. Tea will need a new servo in her right leg, as well as a new fuel lines to her claws. Geni will need her weapon checkup and Chlori got her's overheated. I hope it's nothing serious" With that I looked up to see burn marks on Chlorophytum's wings and noted "...armor plates and something to help heat dissipation" I noted. With that I walked back to the elevator and went to boarding house. 

(Y/N): "I'm back everyone" Ichigo exited the mess hall.

Ichigo: "(Y/N) is back everyone! So how is it?" with that everyone walked down and get into the lounge

(Y/N): "It's not that bad, Heliconia and Strelitzia are fine. Delphinium have some minor armor damage on her head and hat. Mostly due to you, Ichigo, shoving it inside Strelitzia's jaw"

Ichigo: "I have to do something to get Hiro to Zero Two"

Ryuko: "Good thing it's only minor. How is the rest?"

(Y/N): "I suspect an overheating of both Genista's and Chlorophytum's guns. I will need to seek into it before you use them again"

Mitsuru: "What would happen if we used them right now?"

(Y/N): "Well... It could explode, ripping both Ikuno's and Kokoro's arms due to their connection" Kokoro and Ikuno covered their mouths with their hands 

Futoshi: "No way I'm letting Kokoro use it before that!"

(Y/N): "Easy there Futoshi, I will see to it after Argentea"

Miku: "How is she?"

(Y/N): "I should ask you the same Miku. How is your leg?"

Miku: "It's getting better, but I'm still hobbling"

Zorome: "So, what's wrong with our FranXX?"

(Y/N): "Her right leg will need a new servo in her knee, as well as new fuel lines to her claws. With that said, I need someone to come with me for parts search, any volunteers?" At this Zero Two, Hiro and surprisingly Mitsuru get their hands up

Zero Two: "Brother, did you thought from where to get these parts?"

(Y/N): "We have a lot of standard FranXX lying around. We can get the parts from them"

Hiro: "But what about their pilots?"

(Y/N): "Hiro... that's the worst part... They are mostly dead, but if we find any survivors we will get them here"

Ryuko: "And what if they are not?"

(Y/N): "I will burn their FranXX, together with their bodies..." Everyone was shocked

Ichigo: "(Y/N)! You can't do that!"

Goro: "Can't we give them a proper goodbye?"

Ikuno: "We don't have enough time to bury them all. And from what I read, burning the corpse was a traditional way to bury someone in ancient times"

(Y/N): "That's right. So, you three still want to go?"

They just nodded, then Ichigo spoken out

Ichigo: "If this is the only way to do that I'm going too. And I think we all should go, they were our brothers and sisters in arms, we should honor their memory"

Kokoro: "I think that's a good idea Ichigo" Then she turned to Ikuno "Ikuno, what else did they do in your book?"

Ikuno: "When they burn the bodies, it's usually with their weapon and some flowers as well"

Kokoro: "I will go get some before we go" With that she stood up and went to the green house

(Y/N): "We will still need to get the parts. And if we could we should get the magma energy from them. Me and Ryuko will go with Hiro and Zero Two in our FranXX. The rest will need to either travel in jump seats or on Strelitzia's and Heliconia's hands"

Ryuko: "We should get going" We stood up and walked to the elevator. Soon Kokoro join us, with a bouquet of field flowers. Me and Ryuko get to Heliconia, while Hiro and Zero Two get to Strelitzia. After turning them on, we got our hands to the ground

Heliconia: "Everyone's ready?" they just nodded. Futoshi, Zorome, Miku and Kokoro get on Heliconia's hand. I get it near the cockpit and opened it

(Y/N): "Miku, you should sit down. Your leg is still healing" I helped her inside and soon she got on the jump seat "Okay, we have one more seat" 

Zorome: "I guess I..." I cut him off

(Y/N): "Ladies first" I offered a hand to Kokoro helping her inside "Have a seat Kokoro. You can put the flowers behind my seat, there should be some space"

Kokoro: "Thank you (Y/N). You are too sweet" She said with her typical smile

(Y/N): "No problem" with that I closed Heliconia's face plate, leaving stunned Zorome on her hand. I went back to my seat and activated Heliconia. She looked behind to see if Strelitzia is active.

Heliconia: "Sis, you ready?" Then Strelitzia get up

Strelitzia: "Yeah big sister, let's go" Heliconia smiled 

Heliconia: "Never in my life I thought I will get to be 'big sister'"

(Y/N): "Life has many surprises..." After our 15 minutes trip we arrived near the battlefield. Before our eyes stood many lifeless standard models. Some of them have their arm or leg ripped of, some don't have head where it should be

Kokoro: "That's horrible..."

Goro: "We were really lucky to not end like this..."

(Y/N): "You wouldn't... you guys are too skilled" I walked to the nearest FranXX. It doesn't have arm and have a hole in it's chest. I walked to it's head and checked crew monitor "'Pistil: Code 990, status: Dead. Stamen: Code 976, status: Dead.' For fuck..."

Ichigo: "What is it (Y/N)?"

(Y/N): "Both dead. And their numbers were high, signalizing a fresh batch from Garden"

Ryuko: "You are saying..."

(Y/N): "They both were transported from the garden to fight here..."

Goro: "Without any training...?"

Zorome: "Papa would never do that!" Mitsuru turned to him

Mitsuru: "You are either stupid or you are an ignorant to not see what's going off"

Zorome: "What?!"

(Y/N): "He didn't care about them. He don't care about any of us. For him we are like tools to achieve his goals"

Futoshi: "You both are questioning Papa... but, if he really doesn't care, why we got this medals... And all this praise?"

Ryuko: "Propaganda... they did it to be sure you won't start asking questions..."

Hiro: "I always asked questions, but they didn't answer them..."

(Y/N): "Because if they do, they risk you all won't fight. You know the truth Hiro" I walked over to next FranXX, only to be met with the same "At least I can get the servo for Argentea and some radiators to both Chlorophytum and Genista from this one" I opened the cockpit and instantly turned around, throwing up. Inside there, on pistil platform is the girl, about 11 with her neck twisted at the weird angle. On the chair I saw a boy with some type of rebar in his skull

Ichigo: "(Y/N)! Are you okay?"

(Y/N): "Don't go here! I'm fine!" Ryuko thankfully stopped them

I walked inside and get the panels out. Under there was what I needed, 2 big radiators used to cool the cockpit. I got my finger and used my fire to cut it out. I throw them outside and later get them on Heliconia's hand. I walked back and started to cut armor fragments. Soon they also landed on Heliconia's hand. I turned around to get the final parts. I got the servo out, and with it also some fuel lines. I walked back to the rest of our squad and put servo on the ground.

Ryuko: "You got everything (Y/N)?"

(Y/N): "Yeah... we can start the ceremony. Hiro, Zero Two, get to Strelitzia. We need to pile up every FranXX here..." They nodded. Soon we started cleaning the battlefield.

Heliconia: "Zero, Hiro, you will take the right, me and (Y/N) will take the left"

Strelitzia: "Okay..."

*timeskip, 1 hour later*

Strelitzia: "That's the last one. We got a full tank now" she threw last FranXX into the pile of 7 robots, the rest were either only skeletal or klaxosaurs left them in pieces.

Heliconia: "Same. We will distribute it equally later" We powered down and walked down to the rest of our friends

(Y/N): "Ichigo, it was the last one. We can start"

Ichigo: "O-Okay. We should pray"

Ryuko: "I just hope not to this asshole Papa... Wait, Ichigo, if we could"

Ichigo: "Sure" Everybody got ready to pray

Ryuko: "Loving Lord, bless them forever in Your eternal peace"

(Y/N): "Let the sounds of strife, the cries of battle, the wounds of war be calmed for all eternity in Your loving and endless grace"

Ryuko: "Let these great warriors find rest at last. Ever reminded that we who are left behind"

(Y/N): "Cherish their spirit, honor their commitment, send them our love, and will never forget the service that they gave"

(Y/N) and Ryuko: "Amen"

Squad 13: "Amen"

(Y/N): "Now, let them go to their eternal peace. Earth to earth... ashes to ashes... dust to dust..." I got my hand on fire "Flamethrower..." I started the fire, and soon it enveloped the whole heap. Kokoro threw the flowers in there and wiped the tear. We stood there, watching FranXX melting, filling the air with metallic smell, thankfully it covered the smell of burning flesh. We stand there, until all is left is ash and liquid metal on the ground.

Ichigo: "We should head back..." Nobody said a word. We just got back to Heliconia and Strelitzia and soon we are all home. Me and Ryuko are in our room. We moved to the room opposite of Zero Two's.

(Y/N): "Thankfully they didn't saw the bodies. It could ruin their psychic health"

Ryuko: "How bad?"

(Y/N): "Pistil with twisted neck and stamen with rebar in his skull..." she covered her mouth, horrified

Ryuko: "Oh my... I was right to stop them..."

(Y/N): "They looked like 11-12 years old, just to make things worse..."

Ryuko: "How are you taking it?"

(Y/N): "I threw up... I still want to threw up. I think I need to do something to keep my mind busy. I will be back before night" I stood up and walked out the room

*timeskip, time: 1AM*

(Y/N): "Come on, where the fuck did I put my spanners" I asked angrily while searching whole Heliconia's compartment. "Oh here. Now, to give Argentea her new servo" I jumped down and walked over to Argentea. I pressed Neko's sleeve and transformed her into flying config. I flew up Agrentea's knee and unscrew the panel. After fidgeting for a while I finally get it out

Neko: "(Y/N), you know Ryuko will be angry at you?"

(Y/N): "Yeah, but it's the last thing I need to do..." I was cut of by a scream from elevator

Ryuko: "(Y/N)!"

(Y/N): "Shit..."

Ryuko: "I know you are here! You were suppose to be back in our room before night!"

(Y/N): "I know! But I now only have to get Argentea's servo connected! Give me a five minutes!"

Ryuko: "Five minutes! After that you will sleep outside!"

(Y/N): "Okay love!" I connected the servo and closed the panel "Done!" I flew down and powered Neko down

Ryuko: "That fast?"

(Y/N): "It would be faster if you didn't interrupted me. Now, let's get some sleep" We walked back hand in hand. Soon we were in our room. I took a glimpse of Zero's room to see her and Hiro hugging. We entered ours and soon cuddle to sleep

(Y/N): "Goodnight Blueberry, I love you" I kissed her forehead

Ryuko: "Goodnight my Reaper, I love you too" 

*one month later*

During the month a lot of things changed. Next day after I repaired our FranXX we received a note alongside a lot of crates. Upon opening them we saw rations of food, washing supplies and other necessary things to live. In the note we got orders that Squad 13 needs to remain in Mistilteinn until we get called to our next mission. It also informed us that food will be delivered here once a week. 

Not only our food was limited. Electricity was another problem. We decided that during the day we won't use any light, and during the night we will mostly use candles. Light was only turned on in the lounge. Another problem was with water, we used lake and the river to get it.

I woke up and looked around, only to see Ryuko is gone. I got up and went to the bathroom. Upon returning I heard the talk from Zero's room

Ryuko: "One more thing and.... done. You like it Zero?"

Zero Two: "They look so nice, thank you Ryuko"

Ryuko: "No problem. I should get back to mine and (Y/N)'s room. He will be worried..." I cut her of by entering

(Y/N): "Morning girls. What are you doing?"

Ryuko: "Morning love" She went to me and kissed my cheek "Zero asked me to help her file her horns"

Zero Two: "What do you thing (Y/N)?"

(Y/N): "Cute. You ready to do our jobs?"

Zero Two: "Yeah, I got the messenger job this week, what about you two?"

Ryuko: "I'm doing the laundry with Kokoro and Miku"

(Y/N): "Me, Hiro and Mitsuru are checking on water sources. Last time we checked the river was still usable as our water source but it could change soon, with all this garbage in it"

*timeskip, river of Mistilteinn*

Mitsuru: "The water's starting to go foul here, too"

Hiro: "Yeah"

(Y/N): "If this keeps up, we will be left with no water..."

Hiro: "But it might be drinkable if we filter it"

(Y/N): "We need to think about it. I could use some pipes and cloth to create some makeshift filter"

Mitsuru: "That said, there's no telling how long we can keep this up. The water supply to this area could stop at any time"

(Y/N): "Given that Plantation's pipe system is damaged..."

Hiro: "Yeah, you two are right" Mitsuru looked at Hiro and then back at the river. We then hear banging from behind. We turned around to see Zero behind the tree

Zero Two: "Found you. Time for breakfast, you three"

*timeskip, mess hall*

After our return, Ichigo started giving out rations. Hiro And Zero were filling cups with water. Then Ikuno entered the room and walked to Ichigo

Ikuno: "Sorry. I'll help"

Ichigo: "Nah, it's fine. Anyway, has your fever gone down?"

Ikuno: "I'm used to it now" Then Zero Two walked over to her and checked her temperature with her forehead

Zero Two: "36.7 degrees... Normal body temperature"

Ryuko: "Seems like your fever is gone Ikuno"

Zero Two: "Don't push yourself, okay?"

Ikuno: "G-Got it. Thanks"

We all sat down and they started their pray, while me, Zero Two and Ryuko just dig in

Zero Two: "Morning laundry: okay, Carrying the rations: okay, Thirty minutes for breakfast. After that..."

Miku: "You're awfully meticulous. Nobody's going to complain if you go a bit off-schedule"

Zero Two: "That won't do. We all agreed to these rules! We're the only ones here, so we gotta obey them"

Miku: "Wow, look who's turned over a new leaf"

Ikuno: "What happened to your wild side?"

Zero Two: "Exactly. That's why I wanna do things right"

Miku: "Oh, really now?"

Zero Two: "Really"

Ryuko: "Seems like Zero is back to her happy self"

(Y/N): "She is at peace now, she have her friends and most importantly, she finally have her Darling"

Ryuko: "All we need to give them now..."

(Y/N): "Is their freedom" I felt a small vibrations in my pocket. I got my communicator out to see a message from Nana. I whispered to Ryuko "We need to go" she nodded

Ryuko: "Ok. I'm full, thanks for the meal" She stood up

Ichigo: "Where are you going Ryuko?"

Ryuko: "Me and (Y/N) need to check one thing. We will be back soon"

(Y/N): "Yeah, that" We exited the room and went on our way to elevator. Soon we arrive in the room Nana and Hachi are staying

Ryuko: "Good morning Nana, Good morning Hachi"

Nana: "Good morning you two. How are things up there?"

(Y/N): "We have a system to organize things. One week we do one thing like laundry, second week we do maintenance of the house"

Ryuko: "They are learning to take care of themselves"

Then Dr.FranXX called, Nana swiped and soon on the screen is a video of my uncle

Dr.FranXX: "How is they training?"

(Y/N): "Wow, not even a single good morning. Grandma Yoshino would be mad..."

Dr.FranXX: "Don't bring her into this (Y/N). We are at crucial point. Children saw what happen month ago"

(Y/N): "Not only this. When I went on my search for parts we spotted a FranXX... Uncle, codes 990 and 976, how old they were?"

Dr.FranXX: "Were? Last time I checked... Don't tell me..."

(Y/N): "I saw their FranXX, it had a giant hole in it's chest and was missing limbs. How. Old. They. Were" In the answer uncle just punched his desk

Dr.FranXX: "Bastards! They were sending 11 years old to the battlefield!" Nana seemed shocked at this, she was at the verge of tears

Nana: "(Y/N)... Were they any other...?"

(Y/N): "Nana... I'm sorry..." she just started crying. Hachi went to comfort her

Dr.FranXX: "I knew those geezers are insane, but to send untrained children! And to make things worse there are many more like them"

Ryuko: "So, stage 2?"

Dr.FranXX: "After their survival training is done, move immediately to it. Nana, did you told them where to go?" Nana wiped some tears

Nana: "*sniff* (Y/N), Ryuko, when we escape, we will be going to that city you saw during your vacation"

(Y/N): "If things weren't so dark right now, I would be jumping"

Hachi: "Doctor. How are things there?"

Dr.FranXX: "Base of operation is done, as well as living quarters and hangar for FranXX"

(Y/N): "And how about our friends?"

Ryuko: "Yeah, Mako and the rest?"

Dr.FranXX: "It will be a surprise for you two when we arrive there" he smiled "Nana, Hachi, you haven't made contact with them, except (Y/N) and Ryuko. I hope?"

Hachi: "That's right"

Dr.FranXX: "Good. If you two intervene with the children, this whole operation will be ruined"

Nana: "Doctor, I still don't understand. Why we can't be with them? They went to hell and came back alive.  They need us more than ever. Even if we are to keep the training going, we should at least..." Uncle cut her off

Dr.FranXX: "Always so inflexible. They have (Y/N) and Ryuko up with them. They will be fine. Keep this thing going, you four" and then he hung up

Nana: "Wait, doctor! Good grief, he should at least let us speak with them"

(Y/N): "Nana, they need to learn if they want to survive there. And don't worry, we will look over them"

Ryuko: "Just make sure we will get those rations, they are our main food source"

Hachi: "We will. You two are to return to Mistilteinn. Remember to stay quiet about us"

(Y/N): "Will do"

We exited the room and get back to boarding house. Mitsuru saw me and walked over to me

Mitsuru: "(Y/N), good to see you. I was thinking about your idea with the filter"

(Y/N): "And?"

Mitsuru: "After breakfast I tried to make a prototype"

(Y/N): "Let me have a look" he gave it to me "What did you used inside?" I looked up to see he had a haircut "Nice hairstyle man, who did it?" He blushed and turned away from me

Mitsuru: "Kokoro did... I asked her to do so"

(Y/N): "Heh, maybe I should ask her too. My hair is getting too long. Anyway, let's test this prototype of yours" Me and him walked to the river from the morning "Okay, let's see..." I used his filter and tasted the water "It taste like water, good job Mitsuru"

Mitsuru: "Thanks" we walked over to other water sources, well, lake was too contaminated for his simple filter. 

*timeskip, afternoon*

Ichigo: "Okay guys, afternoon meeting. What did we do today?"

Futoshi: "Me, Goro and Zorome cleaned around the house"

Ikuno: "I was helping you with the food"

Goro: "After cleaning the house, me and Hiro moved rations to the kitchen"

Mitsuru: "Me and (Y/N) were working on filter system. Besides lake, we can drink the water after filtering it"

Goro: "We still need to bathe. We can use lake, we used it before so why not now?"

Ichigo: "Very well. But girls and boys will have their hours there, okay?"

Everyone, remembering our war, agreed to this

Ryuko: "Anyway, me, Miku and Kokoro did the laundry"

Ichigo: "Seems like everyone did their chores. Now we have some free time"

We started talking until it was late. Then we turned to sleep

*timeskip, next day*

After me and Mitsuru did some improvements to filtration system and breakfast, me and Ryuko together with Hiro and Zero Two went for a walk around Mistilteinn. Us two, holding hands while Hiro and Zero Two just stood next to each other. Then Zero turned to blooming sakura tree

Hiro: "Zero Two?" she ignored him and continued to look at the buds "Oh, those are sakura buds"

Zero Two: "Sakura? What are the flowers like?"

Hiro: "What are they like? Well... Oh, they're a really pretty color. The same color as your hair" At this Zero smiled and giggled

(Y/N): "Smooth"

Zero Two: "I can't wait to see them" Hiro got closer to Zero

Hiro: "What do you think of our lives right now?"

Zero Two: "I'm having fun"

Hiro: "You don't find it a pain?"

Zero Two: "Not at all"

Ryuko: "Good to hear you two think so. Soon we will live like this forever"

Zero Two: "I'd love to"

Hiro: "Me too. I have my worries, but all of this is new, and it's so interesting and exciting" he got even closer and tried to hold her hand. But then Zero remembered something

Zero Two: "Oh. Me and Ryuko were supposed to go bathing with the girls!"

Hiro: "Huh? Oh..."

Zero Two: "No peeking, darling. Let's go Ryuko"

Ryuko: "Coming. You too (Y/N)" and with that they walked off

(Y/N): "I'm not like that!" she turned around and showed me her tongue. After that I turned to Hiro "You tried to act like me and Ryuko? You know, holding hands, leaning against each other..."

Hiro: "To be honest, I'm still new to this whole 'relationship'. And you two are always happy with each other. You two have more experience so I thought I should learn from observing you and try to act like this with Zero Two"

(Y/N): "You still have time. Besides, you two kissed, and that's more embarrassing than holding hands"

Hiro: "Easy for you to say..."

*timeskip, lounge*

Ichigo: "We have around five sources we can use for drinking water. Northern river dried out when I checked it in the morning"

Mitsuru: "And two of them are only usable with filtering. Me and (Y/N) worked on it"

(Y/N): "It should give us now crystal clear water after only one filtering, instead of two like before"

Ikuno: "Can't we repair the circulation system ourselves? This should be enough to get river floating again"

(Y/N): "Sadly no"

Mitsuru: "We don't have the tools to do so"

(Y/N): "Even if we do, we couldn't repair it. I'm more like a mechanic for a FranXX than a plumber"

Futoshi: "And our access to the elevator is restricted, right?"

Hiro: "Yeah"

Zorome: "Why don't we just send a letter to Papa and ask him to fix it?"

(Y/N): "Really...?"

Goro: "I don't think there'd be any point to that"

Zorome: "Huh? What makes you so sure?"

(Y/N): "Maybe because Goro doesn't have tunnel vision?"

Miku: "Man, we never realized how big a part the caretakers played in our lives, huh?"

Kokoro: "Yeah. They always made sure we had hot food and clean clothes"

Miku: "What'll become of us if we stop getting rations, too?" then silence occurs for a while

Zero Two: "We could just cook our own food, then"

(Y/N): "That's right. Remember that training you supposed to get at the beach?"

Ryuko: "Now is a perfect time to do it"

Hiro: "The river still had fish in it. If we can cook them..."

Miku: "The only ones among us that ever done that are Ryuko and (Y/N)"

Futoshi: "And they already are our medics. We can't let them do all the work"

Mitsuru: "If they can teach us, we can split the tasks. Besides we had books about cooking in the study"

Kokoro: "Then maybe we could do it after all"

Futoshi: "Yeah"

Ichigo: "I want to give it a shot, too"

Zero Two: "That's that, then!"

Ryuko: "Okay, Goro, you have you fishing supplies?"

Goro: "Yup. Three poles, two nets and box of lures"

Ichigo: "So, who will come with you?"

(Y/N): "I would suggest Hiro and Zero Two. Me, Futoshi and Zorome will get the fire started"

Ryuko: "Or we could just us you as our fireplace" she laughed 

(Y/N): "Just wait dear. When you get colder in the night... Anyway, the rest should see around our supplies and see what you can do"

*next morning, again*

Next morning I started to organize thing with fire. Before anyone wake up I walked to the forest, to cut some smaller trees down. Then I sent Zorome and Futoshi to bring them here

Futoshi: "Hey (Y/N)! Where we should put it?"

(Y/N): "Next to me. I will cut them later" They put it down and soon enough I cut it into the small firewood pieces. 

*small timeskip*

Futoshi: "I think it's the last one (Y/N). Now, what should we do?"

(Y/N): "You see this wood?" I pointed to the stack and he nodded "Put it into the fireplace so it would reassemble a tepee"

Futoshi: "What's 'tepee'?"

(Y/N): "Triangular tent, used by people from old world, called Indians. Just put it so it would look like a triangle from every side" He proceed to do so. Soon he formed nearly book perfect fireplace "And now to ignite it" I got my finger on fire and started the flames

Futoshi: "Look, Zorome!"

Zorome: "Aren't you dieting? Why are so gung-ho about this?"

(Y/N): "What?"

Futoshi: "But this is fun! Look at this stuff burning up!"

(Y/N): "Don't get too close..." then the wood sparked scaring Futoshi. He falls on his butt "...because sometimes wet wood like to sparkle. You alright Futoshi?"

Futoshi: "Yeah" Zorome then get near us

Zorome: "Wow, you're right! That's so cool!"

(Y/N): "Okay, we have the fire started" I looked around. Miku and Ikuno were getting the dough ready, Ikuno got too passionate with it. Kokoro was getting the herbs ready while Mitsuru was mixing spices. Then Ichigo get out with plates and Ryuko was right behind her with chairs

Ichigo: "Welcome back" She waved. I turned to where she was facing to see Zero Two, Goro and Hiro getting back

Zero Two: "We're back!" she waved back. They get to us and put their buckets down

Zorome: "Wow, what a haul"

Zero Two: "I caught eleven!" she boast

Miku: "Really?"

Futoshi: "That's awesome"

Miku: "How about you, Goro?"

Goro: "Two fewer than Zero Two"

Kokoro: "That's still amazing"

Mitsuru: "Yeah"

Ichigo: "And Hiro?" she put his hand behind his head

Hiro: "I didn't catch any"

Zorome: "Are you kidding me Hiro? That's so lame!"

(Y/N): "You will catch some another time"

Zorome: "I'll go fishing next, then"

Miku: "I wanna go, too!"

Kokoro: "Could you teach me how to fish, too?"

Zero Two: "Sure thing. I'll show you now" Everyone besides Ichigo and Goro get around Zero Two "When the rod twitches, you immediately reel that thing in!"

Kokoro: "I don't know if I can..."

Zero Two: "It's easy"

(Y/N): "You will show them later, sis. Now! Everyone get in front the table. We will show you how to prepare a fish" I get behind the table and took one fish from the bucket. "First things first, you need to remember that fishes are also living creatures, they feel pain too. So to easy it for them you need to stun it" I got the dull side of knife and I hit the fish in it's head. It instantly stopped moving

Ryuko: "Now, when the fish is stunned it won't feel pain. Next thing you do is to remove it's scales" I passed the knife to Ryuko and she showed them how to do it. "Remember to move the knife with the scales, not against them. It would be easier" she then flipped the fish on the other side. Soon enough she finished

(Y/N): "Next step is to gut it. This will kill it, so if you don't want to see it you can turn around "I got the knife from Ryuko and I hold the fish upside down "To gut a fish you need to cut it's belly" I did a cut "After that you get your hand in and just pull it's organs out. We can't eat them. There was also a fish called puffer fish. If you don't prepare it right way, it could kill you. Yes, Ikuno?"

Ikuno: "How do you prepare it then?"

Ryuko: "We don't know. To prepare a puffer fish you need to go through specific training. In old world, people needed the licence to cook it"

(Y/N): "Getting back. Once you remove them, you need to wash it to remove any blood left. Then we need to cut it's tail and fins. There is no meat in them so we don't eat it." I cut them off "And it's head. Some people left it but there are little to none meat in it" I cut it off too "With that it's ready to season"

Ryuko: "We found some salt and pepper. Kokoro, did you bring limes?"

Kokoro: "Yeah. Here you go Ryuko" She passed her the lime

Ryuko: "Thanks. First we sprinkle it with lime juice, to later season it with salt and pepper. Then you get it on a stick and voila. Fish ready to cook"

Miku: "That looks so easy when you do this"

Zorome: "I want to try it!"

Kokoro: "Me too"

Miku: "Me three!"

(Y/N): "Alright, alright. Who else want to try?" nearly everyone get their hands up " Okay, do we have that much knifes, hehe?"

*timeskip*

After our demonstration, we look over the rest of squad, trying to deal with fishes. Everyone except Zorome, Miku and Futoshi got it at the first time. Miku was scared to gut the fish, so Ryuko helped her. Zorome was too nervous and nearly mauled his fish and Futoshi cut his finger while cutting off the fins. Later, everything went smoothly. I'm currently watching over the fire, checking if our food is cooked

 (Y/N): "Okay guys. Fish is ready" I got the sticks out and put the fish on the plate

Zorome: "We're incredible! We actually cooked for ourselves!"

Miku: "Weren't you slacking at first? And you nearly destroyed your fish"

Zorome: "Says the one scared to kill it..."

Goro: "You never know what you're capable of, huh?"

Hiro: "Yeah"

Kokoro: "The question is, how will it taste?"

Mitsuru: "We followed the book's and both Ryuko's and (Y/N)'s instructions, so it should be fine"

Ichigo: "Okay, take your seats" We do as she says and get ready to pray

Zorome: "Forget about it"

Ichigo: "Hey!"

Zorome: "Why should we have to pray when we did everything ourselves?" he took a bite of his fish "This is pretty good!"

Miku: "Really?" "She took some of her salad "Yeah, it's totally edible!"

Kokoro: "Yay!"

Meanwhile me and Ryuko pray to our parents like usual

(Y/N): "Mom, uncle Soichiro..."

Ryuko: "Dad, aunt Hayami..."

(Y/N): "We are thankful that you guidance let us have this time with our friends and family..."

Ryuko: "We hope that you two will continue to look over us on another adventure"

(Y/N): "We will make you two proud again"

(Y/N) and Ryuko: "Amen"

Hiro: "(Y/N), to who do you and Ryuko pray?"

(Y/N): "To our parents, they were killed by the same woman that tried to destroy the world before"

Ichigo: "Before?"

(Y/N): "Fuck... guess we can't hide it anymore. Everyone, we need to tell you something"

Ryuko: "We both are from the old world" At that everyone dropped their food

Zorome: "Good joke you two" and he started laughing

Ryuko: "We are serious Zorome. Me and (Y/N) were frozen for 150 years in order to help with klaxosaurs in the future"

(Y/N): "We were chosen by Dr.FranXX to do so, because we saved our planet once"

Miku: "And you want us to believe that?"

Hiro: "It's true. They told me that while I was at hospital"

Zero Two: "Both Ryuko and (Y/N) are from the old world. Doctor told me that too"

Ichigo: "I saw some old posters or something like that back in the city near the beach. On one of them was a girl and a boy resembling (Y/N) and Ryuko..."

(Y/N): "We got posters? Cool!"

Ikuno: "I once read about history of old world's country called Japan. It mentioned the Great Life Fiber War"

Goro: "Wait, Life Fiber. (Y/N), you told me and Ichigo that it was source of your powers"

(Y/N): "That's right. Ikuno did the book mentioned the names of those who ended it?"

Ikuno: "Yeah. They were..." Ryuko cut her off

Ryuko: "Ryuko Matoi and (Y/N) (L/N)"

Ikuno: "How do you..."

(Y/N): "Because it's us. I know, it's funny to speak to a person who is now 168 years old" I chuckled at the end

Ichigo: "It's really hard to believe..."

Ryuko: "Let us told you all our story"

We then proceed to tell them about everything that happened in Honno town, about our war against Ragyo and what she did to us, our friends, our parents, about Neko and Senketsu. And how we were frozen in order to help them, but without mentioning the plan

(Y/N): "And that's how we ended up here" I looked around to see shocked faces besides Hiro and Zero Two

Ryuko: "Love, I think we broke them"

(Y/N): "Seems like it" then Ichigo was the first to spoke

Ichigo: "You two... you lived through so much... and yet you are still fighting..."

Kokoro: "To hear someone could do something like that to a child..."

Futoshi: "But in the end you got on top. You saved the world..."

Zorome: "You two... are awesome! (Y/N), can I try that uniform of yours?!"

Miku: "Ryuko, can I try yours too?!"

Miku and Zorome: "Please!" they begged

(Y/N): "First off, if you want to use it to fight each other, then no. Second, if you are not a hybrid like me and Ryuko then it would put a strain on your body"

Ryuko: "In order for them to work, they need your blood"

(Y/N): "Any more questions? Ichigo?"

Ichigo: "Just one. Why didn't you tell us about it sooner?"

Ryuko: "We never had the occasion to do so" she shrugged

(Y/N): "Someone else?" Kokoro got her hand up

Kokoro: "What about your friends?"

(Y/N): "They are with Doctor. They are training to pilot as we speak"

Goro: "Wow. I'm actually amazed. We got saviors of the world in our team"

(Y/N): "Oh, by the way. No one beside us should know about this, okay?  We are still Ryuko and (Y/N), codes 006 and 004"

Ichigo: "(Y/N), Ryuko. I think I speak for everyone here. You two stayed with us since we were assigned here. You two helped us numerous times. You both taught us many things. Although you lied about your identity, we understand there is a reason for that. So..." She looked at us with her sweet smile "We will not tell anything to anyone. You two are our friends and family"

(Y/N): "Thanks Ichigo. We should eat"

After five minutes of eating, Zorome started to talk

Zorome: "I bet none of the other squads actually cook for themselves, right?"

(Y/N): "And you are right Zorome"

Zero Two: "Yeah. We've never seen any others do that"

Zorome: "See? We're truly geniuses!" He put Futoshi's untouched food near his face "Come on, Futoshi! Eat up! Come on, eat up! This is really good!"

Ichigo: "Someone's let this go straight to his head"

Ikuno: "In a way, that's so him"

Zorome: "Eat already! What's the matter?"

Goro: "Isn't he getting a bit too worked up though?"

Zorome: "Eat dammit!" after that we hear a plate smashing. We all turned to Zorome and Futoshi

(Y/N): "Guys, what is happening?

Mitsuru: "Are you okay?"

Futoshi: "Oh, I'm fine" he waved it off "Sorry, my hand slipped"

Zorome: "Hey. Quit forcing yourself" he squatted down and proceed to help Futoshi

Futoshi: "It's fine. I can handle this myself..."

Zorome: "I know that you're forcing yourself to eat and throwing it all back up"

(Y/N): "What?! Futoshi, is that true?"

Futoshi: "Of course not" he scratched his head

Zorome: 'Don't lie to us!" he grabbed his collar an then Goro stood up

Goro: "Hey, cut it out"

Ryuko: "No Goro. If he really do it, then we need to know"

Futoshi: "You're wrong"

Zorome: "No, I'm not!"

Futoshi: 'It's not like that!" he got out of Zorome's grip and then got on his knees. Zorome was looking angrily at him with some tears in his eyes

Zorome: "You'd better eat if you wanna survive! Otherwise... it could..."

Futoshi: "It's okay! I can eat! I'll eat it all!" He grabbed one fish and after taking a bite he spit it back and begin coughing. Hiro went to him and patted his back

Zorome: "Why? Why? Look at us. Why isn't Papa getting in touch? Why isn't he coming to get us?"

Miku: "Zorome... don't worry. He will come soon"

Ryuko: "Don't lie to him Miku..."

(Y/N): "Zorome, I told you... You guys are nothing more than tools in his hands. And when he won't need you anymore, he will just throw you away"

Zorome: "You know nothing!" He went to punch me but I catch his hand

(Y/N): "Trying to punch me won't change the truth. You saw those FranXX back at the battlefield. You saw what happened to Squad 26. They tried to stop the Super Lehmann and what did he do? He ordered them to do that..."

Kokoro: "What are you talking about (Y/N)?"

(Y/N): "Protocol 32..."

Ikuno: "What is it?"

Ryuko: "Protocol 32, the suicide protocol. Once ordered, the squad need to get as close to klaxosaur as possible, and then overheat their reactor"

Zero Two: "They sacrificed themselves to kill the Klaxosaur" everyone looked in horror

Ichigo: "Squad 26... was ordered to kill themselves?" Me, Ryuko and Zero Two nodded

Futoshi: "It cant be..."

Mitsuru: "That explains plantations exploding too"

(Y/N): "Life of a FranXX pilot is limited... ask me, Ryuko or Zero Two how many times we met the same squad. The answer would be zero, we newer saw the same squad twice"

Miku: "I was worried the entire time, too... But I was too scared to speak up"

Ikuno: "Not only you. I had my fears, too"

 Goro: "I've been writing to Nana and Hachi to let them know how we're doing. But they never accepted the letters"

Zorome: "What the heck? You'd already tried?"

Hiro: "Assuming we really have been cast aside by Papa... I think that's fine. I'm not worried as long as I'm with you all. As long as we're together, we can work thing out" Me and Ryuko smiled at this, knowing Hiro remembered our words back from the beach "Look at today. We cooked our own food, and it was a lot of fun. Be it cooking together, or discussing how to go about our daily lives, we've never really spent much time on these things before"

Zorome: "I never said I wasn't having fun. It's just, I..."

Goro: "Fighting is all we've ever known."

Futoshi: "I-I had fun, too! Though I couldn't eat it all..."

Mitsuru: "We can just cook again"

Hiro: "Yeah, Mitsuru's right. Cooking as a group, taking baths, and talking things out..." He stood up and walked away from us, he stopped in the middle of backyard "I'm finding all of it so enjoyable and valuable right now. It's making me feel like this is where we truly belong"

Ichigo: "Where we belong?"

Hiro: "(Y/N) once told me that there's more to our lives than piloting the FranXX. And now I see it." After those words we all looked with smiles at him, some guys got teary eyes like Zorome and Miku. Futoshi was going for full bawling

Mitsuru: "Futoshi..."

Zorome: "Oh, please! What are you crying for?"

Futoshi: "You are the one to talk"

Zorome: "Shaddup!" and they started to get the tears away. Then Futoshi's stomach growled

Futoshi: "And now I'm hungry!" We laughed 

Zorome: "Yeah, eat up! You need the energy!" Me and Goro walked over to Hiro

(Y/N): "Wow, and to think boosting morale was my thing. It's good to have you on our side man" I winked

The rest of the evening went rather easy going. Me and Ryuko were asked about the old world, how was living back there. We answered honestly, being happy that we finally have someone to talk about it besides us two. 

*timeskip, early night*

I was just walking from the bathroom, with towel on my shoulders. I was about to enter the room me and Ryuko live for a month now, when I heard talk from Zero's room

Zero Two: "Yeah. The picture book we read together" then a boy's voice sounding like Hiro spoke

Hiro: "You remember it all? That's incredible"

'Heh, better not disturb them'

I entered the room and spotted Ryuko lying on our makeshift double bed, with book in her hands

(Y/N): "Since when you read books?"

Ryuko: "It's getting boring and I needed some time killer"

(Y/N): "Nerd..."

Ryuko: "Shut up..."

(Y/N): "You love me and you know it" She put the book aside and went to me to kiss my cheek

Ryuko: "I know... By the way, Kokoro dropped a book when I accidentally bumped into her

(Y/N): "About?"

Ryuko: "Babies..."

(Y/N): "So, she knows?"

Ryuko: "Seems like it. We need to talk with her tomorrow" She lied back on the bed and patted the space beside her "Come on, love. We need to sleep"

(Y/N): "Right, right" I lied down and Ryuko instantly hugged herself to me

Ryuko: "Warm~" she now got her head on my chest "Night my Reaper"

(Y/N): "Night Blueberry. I love you"

Ryuko: "And I love you too" with that we drifted to sleep

A/N: Here I'm. Sorry for the wait but I kinda got lazy in the weekend. That and a massive hangover on Saturday. We will soon get the plot out of the window and go with original ideas.
