Chapter Eight

The next week, Samuel doesn't drink a single drop of alcohol, he doesn't argue with Blue and they just hang out, happily.

"Violet," Sony says, running a paper-white hand through his pitch black hair.

"Yeah?" I ask, surprised, Sony hasn't talked since I got here. His voice is a little high and adorable.

"Um, I just have a question."

"Go for it!" I say, smiling.

"Uh, I, w-what was it like at R-reap?" My smile fades quickly and turns into a frown.

"Well," I start, "It was interesting. It was a terrible experience, they experimented on us, operated on us but they let us train our powers too. If you misbehaved, you would go to the Ditch-which is basically a torture chamber- and get beat." I shiver in disgust.

"I'm sorry they did that to you guys. You didn't deserve that," He says, looking at his feet, "Bye, Violet." Then he walks away.

"Bye, Sony." I say, basically crying.

The whole day I watch Samuel, closely, looking for any signs of him drinking. No signs, that's good. He's getting better.

But he could bounce back at any second. I'll just keep watching him from now on. Blue then walks up to me, smiling, "Thank you, so much, Violet!" She says.

I smile back at her and say, "No problem, Blue. You deserved him to be better. I just made him better." She hugs me and I hug back. She then skips back to Samuel and talks to him, smiling so happily.

He better stay sober or he'll never see her smile again, I think, while staring at him, intently.

Time hasn't talked to me since the night I beat up Samuel, neither has Voodoo. Voodoo must be mad I hurt his sister. Whatever, they'll get over it.

I go to sleep that night, content with how things were going, so far.
