Chapter 9 [1218 words]

I walked towards the fifth tunnel and found The Thunder Titan and Dylan relaxing behind the gate to the next tunnel. Nothing was useful anymore. Not even Dylan or The Thunder Titan said a word. Everything was dark black and quiet, but I could see them. Both of them. I continued to read the piece of paper.

"According to this young cat, he has permission to escape through the tunnels. But what makes it even worse is he is hiding something from us! This cat is believed in to save the Special Gem. Like from the famous quote somebody once said, 'When the Special Gem dies, the Earth's light cries.' This message is to everyone around the world who knows who this cat is. If this feline is found, please report to 9-1-1 immediately."

I looked up in shock. The Thunder Titan and Dylan were still chatting. I knew they must be up to something, but for some reason, I didn't know if it was good or bad. For a second, I thought that they were going to plan a huge attack on me. Until I realized that they wanted to put an end to all this, I startled.

Past memories of me and The Thunder Titan hit me. I had to end those thoughts. What would King Cat do? What would a hero do? My head bounced around the room, making me stomp to the ground. Wait, what would I do?

There was no running. If I would do anything, it would be to run and never return.

Something caught me the last second. My paws were locked in chains, Almosr making me want to break through them. Almost heartbroken, The Thunder Titan and Dylan were surrounding me.

"Whatcha going to do now, silly, purple cat with absolutely nothing to do? Are you going to run around like you're a silly little kitten or something? What's the matter?

Dylan teased, almost spitting out his water in my face. The Thunder Titan pushed Dylan to the side of him, making a stronger apprentice appear inside of him.

"You thought that we were helping you all along? So you seriously still think that? We aren't your friends, cat. We're the opposite. We knew that you'd fall for it. Besides, it's already stupid of you to be with us. You took a wrong turn with us. Little cat, you helped us. Now, since you're about to be executed by us, the world is destroyed. Never put trust inside a huge guy like me."

The Thunder Titan explained, making my feelings grow from sad to furious. All along, The Thunder Titan was helping his darn self? What's going to happen to me now?

I wanted to run. I want to make revenge. I need to. Right now, I will be locked inside of The Thunder Titans secret dungeon. Whatever I'll do now is going to have to be solved. I must escape before I even have the opportunity to do it.

The Thunder Titan ran towards me, digging his deep claws into my skin. While I was really hurt, I bit his arm, leaving marks. As Dylan started using his invisible bow, I flew to the ground, down a tight waterfall. The Thunder Titan and Dylan went down with me.

Before I knew it, water started pouring inside of my mouth. Accidently breathing it in, I struggled to take each breath seriously. The waterfall was too strong. I closed my mouth, still holding my breath. But the water was too much.

Eventually, I passed out.

Waking up, I found myself slithered inside the beach. There was the sixth door. Knowing that I couldn't make it, the door disappeared. While Dylan was gone and The Thunder Titan was nowhere to be found, I didn't know how to react.

Were they really dead?

That's impossible! The Thunder Titan is huge, probably the size of three buses lined up together! The unknown was incredible. Well, sometimes that is. Unless there was one way to escape it, I would be trapped here forever. My legs forced me to stand up.

Underneath the sand was a key that must've lead to somewhere.

Oh please. The last thing I need is more danger!

The key had a message on it. As I read it aloud, Dylan grabbed my arm.

"Please, help me."

He begged, but I couldn't forgive. Then, a memory approached my head. King Cat appeared.

"Child, life is about forgiveness and kindness. It's not about how many times they hurt you, it's about how many times you forgive them. So if you want to get out of this mess, mark my words. This will help you in the future."

Before I could respond, King Cat disappeared. While I stood there, Dylan was by my side. My anger flushed into my body. There's no way I'm helping this one! Why should I forgive him anyways? It's such a big deal!

The waterfall stopped running water. Instead of a scary place, filled with creepy creatures and disgrace, the room filled up with zombies.

This isn't supposed to be a sign of a zombie apocylpse! I thought that happened ages ago. Us cats won!

Wait a second, 'Mark my words, This will help you in the future.' It's a message from King Cat! If I don't forgive Dylan for his mistakes, I'll be toasted! Now that was solved, I had two choices, and I must make my desision fast: forgive Dylan, or be slayed by evil zombies that will get hungrier by every second.

Maybe I should forgive Dylan. Everyone has one side to each story. I read that in a book long ago. Dylan, who was still staring at me in disbelief, watched as the zombies came closer.

"Dylan,"

I begun, undertakened by my answer. His looks gave it away. He wanted me to forgive him, he wanted to be friends. I knew what I had to do. And this was the only way I could change it.

"I'm sorry for everything. Not just that, I forgive you. But under one condition."

King Cat smiled, then let the zombies continue after me.

"Lets be friends."

Dylan didn't know what to say. The zombies were frozen. King Cat, still in his ghost body, didn't know what else to do. Standing there, Dylan was still surprised. He didn't know how to react. And I didn't know if he'd react at all.

"Friends, I haven't had a friend in centuries! The Thunder Titan is my father, who's goal is to make everything evil forever. He wanted me to team up, and every time I refused, I was forced to be locked in a room with wild animals and creepy landscapes."

Dylan replied, nodding his head. King Cat smiled, and disappeared. So did the zombies. And each time I looked back at him, he was gone. Dylan and I were friends?

"This is unbelievable! I thought you really hated me. Dylan, would you like to team up with me and become an offical member of the crew. And remember, you don't have to say yes and be serious. I completely understand."

I said, about to cry with more grief than ever. Hopefully he says yes. Besides, we are just about to be best friends anyways. As tears formed in Dylans eyes, I assumed the answer was yes. He ran up to me, hugging me instantly.

"Yes, I'd love to be apart of the team!"
