2 years ago

I had just finished my training session for the day and decided to take a walk and let me tell you I looked like I needed it. all the drills my dad had been hammering into me had been taking its tool and also due to the fact I was Starving

"Cam don't forget to grab some eggs Okay?" my sister, Astasia shouted just as I was about to leave

"Sure thing!" I replied as I shut the door behind me.

It was raining more than usual for a Winter Saturday and of course it had to start raining when I was walking down the block to the convenience store.

"Oh come on really?" I wined at the sky unimpressed and a cry of thunder answered me

"Okay fine be like that!" I shouted back which earned me some glances from passing strangers who actually paid attention to the local weather news and brought umbrellas.

And were hurrying in the opposite direction

Weird..

I shrugged it off and still headed towards my destination

Okay Okay ,I know what you're wondering to yourself who is this idiot yelling at the sky well I am kind of an idiot sometimes or as Astasia says " emotionally impulsive" .

My name is Cameron Akio , im 13 and let me tell you today is defiantly not my day. First, I missed breakfast, my favourite show got cancelled and now I have to walk to the store in the rain!

I didn't think today could get any worse, and boy was I wrong.

Finally after what felt like forever I arrived at my destination drenched in rain and suffering from starvation.

Okay I wasn't suffering but a girl got to eat! Hell I could literally eat 4 houses, no 5 , 5 houses

I looked around hoping to see the food stands to be open ... but ..No one else was around..

Strange

I pulled off my jacket and squeezed out all the rain .after cleaning myself up as well as taking off my gloves, I entered the store still contemplating how many houses I could eat

I looked the counter to ask if they were having any specials, I got to save up for my BTS albums ...

Except there was no one there.

My knuckles started to burn and glow but I was to hungry to notice

"Hello? Is anyone here? Miss Otaka? The door was open so I let myself in ..." I trailed off and stared in horror at the scene before me

Blood

Blood was smeared all over the floor and the store was cloaked in deadly silence. I started to approach the bloody trail and found.. Miss Otaka.

I froze in my tracks as the realisation finally hit me. It all made sense the hollow street, the people on the side-walk hurrying in the opposite direction and...

With it I remembered my Dads words

Villains

This was the work of villains

Of course this was what I'd been training for all my life ... but This isn't real ...this isn't

I reached in my pocket to grab my phone

"What do we have here?" a raspy voice sounded from behind me

SHIT

I stayed silent even as my feet started to shake in fear.

Cameron YOU F***iNG IDIOT

Whoever they were they didn't seem to like my silence very much because the next thing I know im staring at an approaching figure much shorter than me but somehow giving off a vibe that made my skin crawl.

"Aww it's just a kid, what are you doing here? Come to buy some food huh? Well today is your lucky day! Everything is for free... well I believe the owner doesn't need them anymore"

The figure replied in mock sympathy and motioned towards Miss Otaka. They were closer now but they wore a full face mask and were all dressed in black ... however from their form I would guess it was a woman... , judging from the where she's standing the fact she's blocking the only door out.

My eyes widened as it all really sank in this was real and this person was a villain

Im not leaving here alive

"If you promise to never tell anyone about seeing me here, I promise to let you go"

She said sweetly with in a high pitch voice

Bullsh**

"Really?" I asked knowing full well of what she planned to do.

"Of course!" she replied

What to do

She started to step closer

I took a deep breath and looked the villain really looked at her I started to notice things...in her left hand she was gripping a knife, its blade as long as my forearm....

Another Step

Think Cam!

Only a couple steps to go...

Wait... From the way she was walking..

I replayed the memory in my mind

There!

She was limping and her right leg wasn't coordinating well with her steps ...She's injured

I looked up at her and made a decision

GO!

"Aww are you scared? Don't worry I won't hurt-" she was cut off as I sprinted towards her right side and aimed my kick ,at her right leg, and kicked her as hard as I could at the back of her right knee.

Crack

"AAHHHHH!" she screamed my attack brought her to her to a crouched potion.

"You little B*tch! I'll kill for that" she yelled at the top of her lungs and she threw herself off the ground and at me knife in hand.

I dodged and rolled out of the way.

My knuckles really started to burn now like I had put my hand willingly in a blazing fire

"Aghhh...Dammit" I whispered and nearly fell to the ground

"Im done playing around, didn't you hear me?!" the Woman started towards me fast

Too fast

I didn't have time to dodge this one plus my hand was freaking burning me alive, the pain started to trail up my arm.

Next thing I know, the masked villain is one top of me, trapping my left arm and legs under her.

She raises her knife inches from my chest.

"I'd say im surprised you nearly beat me... without a quirk too...but well you get the picture"

I stare at her in shock and grip on to her knife arm with my only free arm except I can't the pain rising up in it is too strong.

This is it

Im going to die in a store without even eating my favourite food

Life sure is cruel

I close my eyes to give into the pain even as knew pain starts to take over me... yet through the pain I hear a scream that isn't my own

With my last piece of strength I, opened my eyes, and couldn't believe what I was seeing

The masked woman was being dragged by a ...

Is that a tentacle...?

.. Through a purple portal across the store.

What the hell?

I, however, didn't have time to find out

the world faded to black

The News Reporter stated

"These ... things came of out no where they... they were beasts and started eating people ... I can't im sorry " one interviewee stated and burst into tears

"All I could hear was screaming ... and my sister she... didn't make it and-"Another interviewee replied and stopped midsentence only to stare lifeless into the camera lens.

The TV blared on and on but all I could think of was that tentacle that had dragged the masked lady away.

What were those things and why do I feel like I've seen them somewhere before ...

I must have really been tuned out because someone was taping me on the shoulder rather repeatedly.

"Hey Kid? Are you okay?

"What's your name kid?" asked the Cat officer kindly but with a distant look in his eyes

Wait.. Cat ?

I hadn't seen many Cat citizens before so it was...interesting

"Cameron. Cameron Akio" I replied in a soft voice

"Ah your Realm Walker's Daughter aren't yay, well ill be damned," the cat Officer stated almost with a smile.

This usually happens whenever I mentioned my name and I would always be so annoyed that people would only talk to me because of my Dad.

But for once I was grateful someone knew who I was.

"Yeah.. Can I call my parents?" I asked too wreaked by my previous fight to say anymore

"Don't worry ill contact them" the officer replied

After relaying my contact information i was moved to a waiting room and strangely enough they didn't ask me anymore questions

Maybe they could see the mark of fear in my eyes

Maybe it was Pity

But I couldn't help but feel glad as I saw my family enter the automatic doors. My father , Mother and my older sister all made there way towards me and with the sight of them my eyes became glassy.

I really thought I would die today.

The pained but relived look in my sister as she ran up to hug me was more than enough for me to start tearing up.
